Participants in the community were classified into ordinary people, community leaders, religious leaders, and village officials. The data collection technique was carried out by collecting research data obtained through interviews and observation methods. The results showed that in the tradition there are symbols that build egalitarian social relations where individuals merge and release their social status and these symbols have meanings that are understood together. The symbols and meanings can be seen in the activities of cleaning springs, praying together, and alms which are a series of Baritan tradition ceremonies. Second, the Baritan tradition is a form of community resistance to the life of the general public that creates a hierarchical structure or relationship in social life which is considered to eliminate or threaten the way of life that is in accordance with local values.

Abstract

This article delves into the adaptation of Islamic eco-theology as an analytical lens to dissect religious narratives surrounding the climate crisis in Indonesia. With insights derived from a spectrum of interpretations and diverse affiliations, this eco-theology provides a foundation for varied understandings and reactions to environmental challenges. The study is designed to synthesize theory and hermeneutics within a critical-qualitative framework, exploring the interplay between theology and ecology. Ecological and theological behavioural theories are employed to elucidate the data. The findings reveal two main aspects: Firstly, the representation of eco-theology in Islam has undergone a metamorphosis, expanding from its role as a catalyst for uniform responses to environmental issues to a factor enriching the dynamics of understanding and response. Secondly, although the network of Islamic eco-theology influences the perspectives of the Muslim community, its capacity to reach a broader spectrum is still limited. The study underscores that Islamic eco-theology plays a pivotal role as a subsystem in navigating responses to environmental crises, particularly in responding to the climate crisis increasingly integrated within the framework of religious thought and practice in Indonesia.

Abstract

The ecology review in connection with culture is a topic that must be mainstreamed in the current era. Culture is alleged to have a significant contribution to protecting nature. This article aims to discuss the value of ecology in the local wisdom of the Minangkabau Muslim community in the form of the Legend of Bujang Sembilan and the Lubuk Larangan Tradition. This article uses qualitative library research with descriptive inductive analysis. Data were collected from various books and relevant journal articles. The results of this study indicate that moral and social values are present in the Legend of Bujang Sembilan. Moral and social values encourage people to work together to protect nature and each other. In the Lubuk Larangan tradition, ecological values help protect fish populations and river ecosystems, increase community economic income, and preserve hereditary culture. The Lubuk Larangan tradition contains noble national character values such as caring for the environment, social care, and discipline to existing rules. Thus, the tradition is used as a reference for understanding the community to preserve nature and positively impact society.

Abstract

This article aimed to discuss the hadith of women travelling without a mahram with the Multi, Inter and Transdisciplinary way of thinking initiated by Amin Abdullah. This research is based on the fact that the monodisciplinary way of thinking, which has become a scientific problem, continues today. This way of thinking simultaneously gave birth to a textual way of looking at the text. One of the impacts is the understanding of the hadiths on women, which, if understood literally, often leads to certain restrictions on women. These restrictions, in turn, make it difficult for women to develop and be independent. Through a literature study, this article argues that the hadith about travelling for women has a moral meaning of safety as a condition whose purpose is to protect women. However, the studies on the hadith about travelling that some scholars have done have not explained what this security means. This article says that security is knowledge and other abilities that must be supplied and formed around women. In the context of migrant care, this perspective can be used as input for BP2MI to include religious elements and integrative ways of thinking in efforts to protect and solve the problems of Indonesian migrant workers in the future. This article is expected to contribute to the study of misogynistic hadith, the issue of migrant care and the actualization of a multidisciplinary perspective.

This study aims to analyze the practice of mosque cash fund accounts payable from the perspective of sharia economic law. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, where data is obtained directly from the field and processed through qualitative analysis. The results showed that in the case of cash fund payables at the Roudlatul Jannah Mosque in Rama Oetama Village, Seputih Raman Sub-district, Central Lampung Regency, there is an agreement between the mosque cash management and the borrower regarding voluntary additions when returning funds. The amount of this addition is not specifically determined and is submitted according to the sincerity of the borrower. Abstract

Religion plays a crucial role not only in shaping individual and group behavior but also in influencing governance structures and economic performance. Many countries incorporate religion into their constitutions, with some adopting official state religions as the foundation of governance, thereby creating theocratic states. This study aims to explore the relationship between religion and state governance, as well as the relationship between religion and economic performance, based on the classification of countries by religion. The data for this analysis is sourced from the World Bank and the Pew Research Center. It encompasses GDP per capita figures for 133 countries for the years 1990 and 2022, along with estimates of the global population by religion in 2050, derived through a cohort-component technique. A descriptive and comparative approach is utilized to explore the relationship between religion, governance, and the economic performance of these nations. This study finds that countries with an official state religion, supported by strong governance and prudent resource management, tend to achieve better economic outcomes, as evidenced by higher GDP per capita levels. Conversely, countries with weak governance or without clear religious support often experience economic stagnation. The findings recommend the importance of integrating religious values into inclusive and sustainable development policies.
