Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang cerita pendek yang ditulis oleh Naguib Mahfouz dengan judul ‘Indama Ya’ti al-Masa. Cerpen tersebut menceritakan tentang kehidupan sepasang sumai istri di masa tua. Mahfouz, menurut hemat peneliti berhasil menampilkan gambaran kehidupan suami istri di masa tua yang dipenuhi dengan konflik keluarga yang kompleks. Peneliti memandang bahwa cerpen tersebut mengandung banyak sekali tanda yang harus dikaji maknanya. Hal tersebut dapat dibuktikan dengan judul yang disajikan Mahfouz yang tidak bisa dimaknai dengan makna leksikal. Dengan demikian, peneliti menggunakan teori tanda yang dirumuskan oleh Charles Sanders Peirce. Peirce memandang bahwa tanda dibangun atas unsur triadik, yaitu representamen, objek, dan interpretan. Sedangkan fokus kajian pada penelitian ini ada pada kajian objek yang terdiri dari tanda ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Adapun tanda-tanda peircean yang ditemukan adalah berupa indeks, simbol, dan ikon metafora. Salah satu tanda indeks ditemukan pada kalimat /nazratan fatirah/ ‘pandangan yang lemas dan tidak bersemangat’, bermakna bahwa orang yang memberikan respon tersebut tidak setuju dengan ajakan lawan bicara. Salah satu tanda simbol terdapat pada kata /al-qabri/ ‘kuburan’ tersimpan makna kematian. Tanda ikon metafora pada kata /al-masa’/ ‘sore’ yang merujuk pada makna masa tua, mengingat terdapat kesamaan antara keduanya.

Abstract

This study aims to explore pathological or deviation behaviors found in the story of Moses and ‘Abd or Khidir in the Qur’an of surah al Kahf. More specifically, this study is projected to find the basis of all pathological behavior based on al-Jâbirî’s epistemology. To understand the behavior of deviation holistically, the researcher uses Peirce semiotics theory and then synergized with al-Jâbirî’s epistemology which includes bayânî, burhânî, and ‘irfânî's reason. Semiotics theory is used as an interpretation of verbal signs related to deviation behavior. Peirce's semiotics theory examines the sign of three points of view, namely representamen, object, and interpretation. The researcher employs qualitative method with the type of library research. The results of this study are: (1) the perforation of a ship is a situational deviation based on pseudo ‘irfânî reasoning, (2) child killing is a situational deviation based on a theological reason with pure ‘irfânî reason, (3) antipathy towards the guest is an organized deviation based on the violation of bayânî reasoning, (4) the prediction of the seizure of the ship by the king is a non situational deviation based on the violation of bayânî reasoning, and (5) plunging the elderly into apostasy and kufr is a non-situational deviation based on the violation of bayânî reasoning.

This paper aims to descibe the relevance of the muzara'ah hadith and RKUHP which literally contain conflicting spirits. The author tries to find the rhetoric of traditions through historical search and formulates moral ideals that can be applied and contextualized to the present age. In conducting research, the author uses qualitative-descriptive literature research methods, with material objects of muzara'ah hadith and RKUHP criminal article 278. While the formal objects used are Fazlur Rahman’s hadith hermeneutics. The results of this study are (1) Fazlu Rahman’s hadith hermeneutics emphasizes on the fusion of formal traditions, returning to their nature as living sunnah in the community. Melting the Hadith into a Sunnah does not mean practicing it through textual interpretation, it is necessary to have a historical study to find a retio legis (goal) and formulation of a moral ideal, so that the essence of the hadith can be applied and applied in contemporary times, (2) Muzara'ah hadith with RKUHP has a spirit or with the RKUHP the same essence that is motivating farmers to enthusiasm in farming as a retio legis, so that there is no contradiction between the two. (3) Moral ideal that can be applied to the current situation is an effort to strengthen the work ethic of farmers with pro-farmer government policies, both legally through the RKUHP, minimizing food imports or with more concrete policies, namely by providing plant seeds, seeds, fertilizer, and agricultural equipment free of charge for farmers.Keywords: Muzara’ah Hadith, Fazlur Rahman’s Hadith Hermeneutics, Moral Ideal, Retio Legis

Abstract

The Urgency of Qur’anic Literary Zoology: A Case Study on the Art of the Zoomorphic Story of Al-Farasy in Surah Al-Qari'ahThe criminalization of animals can be manifested in concrete actions and disproportionate interpretation of religious texts. This paper aims to describe the urgency of a literary zoological perspective on animal studies in the Quran and provide examples of its application in analyzing one of the cases of animal criminalization al-Farasy in Surat Al-Qari'ah. The author uses qualitative research methods with descriptive-interpretive analysis. The author uses the theory of Tasybih and Roland Barthes’s Semiotics theory with a literary zoological approach. The results of this paper are: First, literary zoology is essential for animal research in the Quran for several reasons. They are  (1) animals in the Quran are included in the literary category, so that an important literary approach is presented to find the meaning behind the existential of animals in the Quran, (2) ) Literary zoology is interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary. Based on these characteristics, the zoosembiology between literature and animals can be expressed comprehensively and holistically, (3) literary zoological opposes anthropocentric philosophy, which is alleged to have produced many actions that destroy nature. Nature conservation, especially related to the future of animals, needs to be encouraged in the current era. Second, the discrimination against al-Farasy by the ulama resulted in monodisciplinary studies. Al-Farsy as an example of humans when the Day of Judgment comes is not meant for taqbih halihi (humiliating the human condition when the Day of Judgment comes), but rather for bayanu halihi and taqriru halihi (reporting the situation)

Abstract

Abtract: This paper aims to explore the concept of non-radicalism da’wah initiated by Ali Mahfudz. Although Ali Mahfudz did not explicitly say in his magnum opus, that the concept of da’wah refers to the method of non-radicalism da’wah, the author sees many indications that support the concept. In conducting research, the authors use qualitative-library research with content analysis methods. In analyzing the data, the writer uses the indicator of non-radicalism da’wah formulated by Yusuf al-Qaradawi. The results obtained in this paper are (1) the concept of non-radicalism da’wah embodied through three major conceptions, namely mauidzah (tadzkir and qissah), isryad, and khitabah in which there are explanatory explanations about the importance of gentleness, wisdom, grace, be patient, and always follow the way of the Prophet's da’wah in the Koran which includes wisdom, mauidzah hasanah, and debate in the best way, (2) a preacher must balance between the use of revelation and reason, (3) in matters that are khilafiyah, Ali Mahfudz just explained it, without forcing the reader to be fanatical about one understanding, such as the law for someone who does not get da'wah based on the Muktazilah, Asy'ariyah, and al-Maturidiyah understandings, (4) permitting the use of israiliyyat as da’wah material, the use of takwil in interpreting the verse mutasyabihat, and the suggestion to refer the theologians (mutakallimin) in da’wah, (5) dynamism in his da’wah was allegedly caused by the transformation of religious experience from the Syafi'i school to the Hanafi school of thought. Keywords: Da’wah; Ali Mahfudz; Non-Radicalism ; Mu’idzah; Irsyad; Khitabah. Abstrak: Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengeskplore konsep dakwah nir-radikalisme yang digagas oleh Ali Mahfudz. Meskipun secara eksplisit Ali Mahfudz tidak mengatakan di dalam magnum opusnya, bahwa konsep dakwahnya merujuk pada metode dakwah nir-radikalisme, penulis melihat banyak sekali indikasi yang mendukung konsep tersebut. Dalam melakukan penelitian, penulis menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif pustaka dengan metode analisis konten. Dalam menganalisa data, penulis menggunakan indikator dakwah nir-radikalisme yang dirumuskan oleh Yusuf al-Qardhawi. Adapun hasil yang didapatkan dalam tulisan ini adalah (1). Konsep dakwah nir-radikalisme terejawantahkan melalui tiga konsepsi besar, yakni mauidzah (tadzkir dan qissah), isryad, dan khitabah yang di dalamnya terdapat repitisi penjelasan tentang pentingnya lemah lembut, bijaksana, lapang dada, sabar, dan selalu mengikuti cara dakwah rasul di dalam Alquran yang meliputi hikmah, mauidzah hasanah, dan perdebatan dengan cara yang paling baik, (2). Seorang pendakwah harus menyeimbangkan antara penggunaan wahyu dan akal, (3). Dalam hal yang bersifat khilafiyah, Ali Mahfudz hanya sekedar memaparkan saja, tanpa memaksa pembaca untuk fanatik terhadap satu paham, seperti hukum bagi seseorang yang tidak mendapatkan dakwah yang didasarkan pada paham Muktazilah, Asy’ariyah, dan al-Maturidiyah, (4). Diperbolehkannya penggunaan israiliyyat sebagai materi dakwah, penggunaan takwil dalam memaknai ayat mutasyabihat, dan anjuran untuk merujuk para pakar teologi (mutakallimin) dalam berdakwah, (5). Kedinamisan beliau dalam berdakwah disinyalir disebabkan transformasi pengalaman keagamaan dari madzhab Syafi’i menuju madzhab Hanafi. Kata kunci: Dakwah Ali Mahfudz; nir-radikalisme; mu’idzah; irsyad; khitabah.

Abstract

This article aims to describe the relevance of Peter McLaren's revolutionary critical pedagogy and Islamic education through an ontological review. In conducting the analysis, the author uses a type of qualitative literature research with content analysis techniques. The results of this study are. First, Critical pedagogy and Islamic education emphasize practical approaches to teaching, learning, and research in teaching and learning activities. Second, the relevance of the revolutionary critical pedagogy goals of Islamic education lies in the social goals as a meeting point. Both have the goal of improving individuals (empower) and relationships between individuals socially. Third, in critical pedagogy, dialogue and dialectics are required between educators and students (both are subjects) so that the negotiation of knowledge for the construction of new knowledge can occur. Fourth, the alignment of the curriculum principles between revolutionary critical education and the principles of Islamic education is based on the principle voice conveyed by McLaren, so that students better understand the objectives of the material being taught.

Abstract

This study aims to develop ethics in utilizing social media in the style of Nahdlatul Ulama within Scientific Approach in the 2013 National Curriculum. Currently, hoax massively spreads in cyberspace, in which students become some parts of it. Hence, this research is important so that students are able to be more critical in responding to circulated information. This study employs of qualitative research with content analysis approach. Results show that internalization of tabayun principle encourages students not apological and always critical towards information. In addition, this encourages them to extract information which enhances their literacy. The principle of honesty and the usefulness of information also encourage students to be able to process information and communicate the investigation results objectively. In addition, ethics in verbal communication becomes the foundation for students to deliver information in a peaceful way.

Abstract

Penelitian ini diproyeksikan untuk mengupas makna mitos di dalam karikatur yang bertemakan anti korupsi. Untuk menguraikan makna mitos, peneliti menggunakan teori Semiotika Roland Barthes. Mengingat bahwa di dalam teori tersebut Barthes mengkonsepkan pemaknaan mitos sebagai tujuan akhir dari pemaknaan denotasi dan konotasi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut prosedur pemaknaan tanda, baik verbal maupun nonverbal dimulai dari pemaknaan denotasi, konotasi, dan yang terakhir adalah mitos. Adapun hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah, pertama karikatur mitos koruptor, kata /RP/ yang selalu muncul pada karikatur merujuk pada segala benda berharga, baik uang, rumah, mobil dan lain sebagainya. Selain itu gambar tikus berdasi, mengenakan jas dan memakai sepatu pantopel, secara mitos merujuk dengan konsisten kepada para koruptor. Titik kesamaan yang disinyalir identik antara para koruptor dan tikus adalah perilaku mencuri dan kontribusi dalam menyebarkan virus. Selain itu pemaknaan mitos yang berhasil dilakukan adalah bahwa penggambaran religiusitas para koruptor dengan mengenakan peci dan membagikan sedekah merupakan bentuk kedok kemunafikan yang berorientasi pada religious pseudo. Kedua, pada karikatur hukuman bagi para koruptor, makna mitos yang dapat ditemukan adalah bahwa para hakim dan pengacara belum sepenuhnya maksimal, objektif dan adil dalam menangani kasus korupsi. Selain itu sistem hukum Indonesia, yang sebagian menganut paham legalistic-positivistic menjadikan hukuman bagi para koruptor tampak kaku dan buta akan konteks. Ketiga, pada karikatur yang bertemakan hari anti korupsi internasional yang dirayakan setiap 09 Desember didapati makna mitos berupa dijadikannya hari peringatan anti korupsi sebagai ajang reuni antara para koruptor senior dan junior. Hari peringatan tersebut sama sekali tidak memberikan dampak untuk mengurangi tindak korupsi. Keempat, dari karikatur yang bertemakan Komisi Pemberantas Korupsi didapati makna mitos berupa keharusan para pejabat struktur organisasi KPK memiliki ketegasan, keuletan, keberanian, bersih dari segala bentuk kasus kriminal, dan jujur sebagaimana pasukan Spartan yang diidentikkan kepada mereka.
