Abstract

The objectives of the research are to know why do many readers not understand about the meaning of the facebook post by native facebook celebritism and to find out the types of ambiguity and dominant type of lexical and syntactical ambiguity use in Facebook Post by native facebook celebritism.In this research, researcher applied desriptive qualitative method. Qualitative research, like other types of research, is descriptive, with data collected in the form of words or images rather than numbers. Choosing, reading, and underlining were the methods used to collect data. Identifying, classifying, analyzing, calculating, and interpreting the data were all used to analyze the data. Homonymy, polysemy, synonymy, and antonymy were among the linguistic ambiguities. Surface structure ambiguity and deep structure ambiguity were the two types of syntactical ambiguity.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to describe the types of directive speech acts of the teacher and student in learning and explain a pragmatic meaning of directive speech acts in the interaction of teacher and student in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng year of 2020/2021. This research method was a qualitative descriptive method with the purpose of getting an objective description of the teacher and student speech in the interaction of teaching and learning in class XI MIPA 2 Pondok Pesantren Al-Urwatul Wutsqaa Benteng. Data collection techniques usedin this study were uninvolved conversation techniques, recording techniques,and note-taking techniques.The data collection technique was used by researcher togain complete data regarding the types of directive speech acts.The researcher carried out the analysis includes four phases:identification,classification,interpretation, and report. Data gained in this study amounted to 16 speeches. There were 4types ofdirective speech acts from 16 speeches: types of directive speech acts questions,command,request,and prohibition.Thepragmaticmeaning found as follows: sense ofreminding, directing, commanding,pleading, recommending,and criticizing.

Abstract

This research entitled “Correlation Between Self-Concept and Anxiety of Communicative Competence in English as Foreign Language Learner”. Common problem in this research is to find 1) Whether any correlation between Self-Concept and Anxiety toward communicative competence or not?, 2) How high a level of positive self-concept and anxiety does the student have?. The subjects of this study were students of Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang University, Consisting of 21 Students as samples from fourth semester of English department. The approach used in this reaserch is quantitative by using correlation method. Data collection techniques used are questionnaire, interview and vocabullary test.Based on questionnaire and interviews with case subjects concluded that the identification of student problems are as follows: 1) There are correlation between self-concept and anxiety toward communicative competence, 2) Researcher find that student had high anxiety and mildly positive Self-concept.

Abstract

Makassar ethnic is one of the ethnic in Indonesia, precisely in South Sulawesi. Previously, local values ​​were still deeply embedded in Makassar women, one of which was shame or Siri’ culture. Nowadays, Makassar women have been influenced by modernization behavior and technological trends, which largely affect the value of Siri' on Makassar women. Realizing this, a good principle instilled in Makassar women is to re-introduce the shame or Siri'. The purpose of this study was to determine the Siri' culture in Makassar women which can be used as a guide in life. Pakarena Anida dance contains values ​​that serve as guidelines for Makassar women to determine their attitude in what they should be. The values ​​contained in the Pakarena Anida dance are life values ​​that uphold self-respect, politeness, and patience. The method used is descriptive qualitative with ethnocoreology approach

Abstract

Padendang Dance is a series of traditional Mappadendang ceremonies, which have the characteristics of movement, costumes and property. So that the uniqueness can be seen from the form of padendang dance choreography. This research aims: (1) Reviewing the Origins of Padendang Dance in Bugis Community in Soppeng Regency (2) Reviewing the form of Padendang dance choreography in the Bugis community in Soppeng Regency. This research uses a qualitative research approach with phenomenological design. The research site in Abbanuangnge Village of Soppeng Regency. Data collection techniques with observation techniques, interviews and document studies. Data analysis techniques from Jannet adshead start from discribing, discerning, interpreting, dan evaluating. The first research results, the origin of padendang dance and the second form of choreography of Padendang dance consisting of three parts, the beginning, the core and the final part. The beginning includes the variety of motion mappakaraja and sere describe respect and request permission to the audience / community. The core part includes motion maggalattungeng (dancer attractions), mengampo bine, mattaneng, masssangki, Which describes the activities of the farming community. The final part Mappatabe’ request permission and apologies to the community if there is a mistake in the performance of Padendang dance. The message conveyed remains grateful and maintains a sense of togetherness and the appearance in question is the implementation of padendang dance at night supported by moonlight and the place of implementation that is laid out carpet and decorated with yellow janur. The advice that can be conveyed is that the community continues to preserve Padendang dance and increase public interest / appreciation of Padendang dance. By maintaining keorisinal without reducing the variety of Padendang dance movements so that the depiction of Padendang dance message can be conveyed. There is a need for coaching in schools to attract young people who have the potential in developing Padendang dance.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe goal of this article incourage any improvement in the student reading skill in terms of discuss class after being taught by visual auditory kinesthetic method. With the use of experimental method this research design is quantitative. On September 2020, this research was conducted in two weeks. The subject of this article was english education students college consisting of 20 students in the first semester. Method of collection data was test of pre-test and post-test. Data analysis techniques were calculating jihad’s test multiple choice by 20 question software and the spss statistical method.The result show that: Post test is higher than Pretest's. For Pretest Acquired, score means 74.5. In Post test grew to 90.5. Certainly there is an improvement in students ' reading skill trough visual auditory kinesthetic so that the dominant theory hypothesis is H1 (Alternative Hypothesis).It can be concluded that visual auditory kinesthetic method can improve students college reding skill.

Abstract

The Objective of the research was to find out whether or not the fly swatter game improves the vocabulary mastery of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kulo. The method of investigation used in this study was the pre-experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population was the seventh grade students of SMPN 2 Kulo. The sum number of the population was 60 students consisting of three classes and one class (VII.1)was taken as a sample by using the purposive sampling technique, the sum number of thesample was 20. The instrument used in this research was to treat the group. The results of this study revealed that the pre-test received a mean score of 52,00, while the post-test received a mean score of 52,00. (78,55). The p-value (0.000) was lower than the level of significance (alpha = 0.05), indicating that the p-value (0.000) was lower than the level of significance. This means that H1 was accepted. The research concluded that teaching at the seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Kulo interested to learn vocabulary mastery by using fly swattergame.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the level of learners learning style strategies and what types of learning style strategies are dominantly chosen by learners during the learning process. In addition, this study aims to determine whether the learning style strategies applied by teachers in the learning process affect students’ understanding abilities.This research used qualitative research methods. The population of this study were students of eighth grade students MTs. Ibrahim Uluale Sidrap of the period 2020-2021. The total population is 87 students consisting of four classes. Class VIII.A was taken as a sample, with a total sample of 22 students. The in-strument used in this study was a closed questionnaire.The result of this research indicate that at the level of learning style strate-gies, students are able to understand the material presented if the teachers uses more than one type of learning strategy. And in the case of this study, students are more dominant in choosing the type of kinesthetics learning style strategy. Based on the result of the questionnaire data, there 16 students (74%) strongly agree that the learning strategies applied in the learning process affect students’ understand-ing. Of the four types of learning strategies, the types kinesthetics learning strate-gy is a learning strategy that helps understanding in the learning process.

Abstract

This study describes linguistic phenomena and forms of conversational implicatures using forensic linguistic studies. The purpose of this study is to reveal the implicature analysis of juvenile traffic violations during the interrogation process and to reveal speech acts and speech events in interrogation language against juvenile traffic violations in terms of forensics. linguistic perspective. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are recording, recording, and interviewing. The results of this study indicate that teenagers who violate traffic regulations tend to cover up their mistakes by providing convoluted information or information. This can be seen from the answers given to the police. During the interrogation process, many violations of Grice's cooperative principle. In addition, the police need to pay attention to the language patterns used when interrogating youths who violate traffic rules so that the juveniles can provide information about the violations committed without pressure and coercion.
