Abstract

This research aims to analyze the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President and knowed the persentage of morphological errors in English Speeches of American President. As for the kinds of error morphology in English speeches of American President, the kinds are free morpheme, bound morpheme, affixes (prefix, suffix, and compound). This research design used is qualitative research. Qualitative research among others are descriptive, the data collected more in the form of words or pictures rather than numbers, The researcher chose qualitative case study research in descriptive qualitative because the data of this study described seeing the actual reality in the form of spoken language, and analyzed and interpreted with the objective to then described in the form of words and language. Qualitative descriptive method is a method that researchers can use to analyze by doing fact-finding with the right interpretation. Qualitative research is closely associated with the context. The result of this research showed that are in English Speeches of American President still found error morphology even thought they are narrative speakers. They made afix, prefix, suffix errors. Besides that, some of the president also made errors in free morpheme, bound morpheme, and compound.The researcher was founded 16 errors totally. In the case it consist of 18,75% errors in free morpheme 56,25% errors in bound morpheme, 25% in affixes there are 12,50% error in prefix, 6,25% errors in suffix , and 6,25% error in compound. Meanwhile, the dominant error in English Speeches of American President is bound morpheme which reaches 56,25 % from 16 or 100%.

Abstract

AbstrakStatus gizi adalah ekspresi dari keadaan keseimbangan dalam bentuk variabel tertentu, atau perwujudan dari nutriture dalam bentuk variabel tertentu. Anak yang kekurangan gizi pada usia balita akan tumbuh pendek, dan mengalami gangguan pertumbuhan dan perkembangan fisik, mental dan jaringan otak yang dapat memengaruhi tingkat kecerdasan otak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor risiko kejadian gizi kurang pada balita di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Pasarwajo Kecamatan Pasarwajo Kabupaten Buton tahun 2020. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder pengukuran BB/U dan kuesioner. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah balita berusia 12-59 bulan yang berjumlah 146 sampel kasus dan kontrol dengan perbandingan 1:1. Analisis data menggunakan uji chi square dengan tingkat kemaknaan sig p0,05. Nilai p-value dan OR untuk masing-masing variabel didapatkan tingkat pendidikan ibu p=0,000 dan OR= 2,659, riwayat penyakit infeksi p=0,000 dan OR=9,488, riwayat pemberian ASI eksklusif p=0,000 dan OR=7,083, pendapatan orangtua p=0,000 dan OR=8,449, dan jumlah anak p=0,090 dan OR=1,736.  Kata Kunci : faktor risiko, gizi kurang, balita

Abstract

The aims of this article is to describe that total immersion program in teaching English can improve students speaking ability. This article is made from research result which used pre- test and post-test design. The population of the article is the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang there are two classes. The writer applied random technique that took one of the two class and sample of this article was IX.2 class with 20 students. The instrument of this article was speaking test which would be administred in pre-test and post-test. The pre-test would be used to find the prior knowledge of speaking ability, while post-test would be used to find speaking ability achievement after treatment is given. The result of this article showed that total immersion program was effective to improve speaking ability at the ninth grade of SMP Negeri 3 Panca Rijang especially IX.2 class. It could be proved from their mean score in post-test (56.95) was higher than their mean score in pre-test (48.50), and the t-test value (10.934) was greater than t-table (a = 0.05; df= 9; t table = 2.262, this means that H1 was accepted.

Abstract

Language learning strategies are offered and employed as boosting and facilitating factors. Having its benefits, language learning strategies appear to be effective terms of different language skills. Reading comprehension is one of the important skills and language learning strategies have some facilities in this skill too. There are some strategies that appropriate for reading comprehension and most of them have purpose to make the reading process more effective and time-efficient. One of the strategy is compensation strategy that help reader comprehend their reading faster by guessing intelligently using linguistic and non-linguistic clues. So, this study is conduct to measure the degree of the correlation between compensation strategies and students’ reading comprehension. The research design applied in this research is quantitative and the approach of this research is correlation quantitative research. The sample of this research is the third year students of Nusantara PGRI University Kediri that consisting 24 students. To get the data, the researcher used two instruments. They are questionnaire and reading test. Based on the result of this research, the mean score of students’ questionnaire is 40,125. The score is in the average of often using compensation strategy. It means that the students in Nusantara PGRI University Kediri often used compensation strategies. Besides, the result also shows that the students’ reading comprehension in Nusantara PGRI University is good enough. It was proved by the mean score of the reading test is 77. Then, the data is computed by using Pearson Product Moment Formula. The result shown that the score of rxy is higher than rxy–table in significant 1% and 5%. In other words, there is any significant correlation between students’ compensation strategy and students’ reading comprehension. According to the result of this research, it can be concluded that the better compensation strategies applied by the students so the better reading comprehension achieve. From that statement, the researcher suggests the students to apply the compensation strategies to increase their English skill, especially reading. The writer also suggests the teacher to help the students in applying compensation strategies by giving them a game to teach them about how to guess the meaning of a new word from prefixes, suffixes and the other clues of compensation strategies.

Abstract

Stunting is ashort body condition according to the age which exceed the 2 SD (Standard Deviation) deficit below the median length standard or the height of the age. A toddler with stunting shows the existence of long-term nutritional problems or chronic nutrition that can be affected by the condition of the mother or future mother, fetal period and infancy or toddler period, including the disease suffered during infancy period. The aim of this research was to find out the risk factor of stunting to the child aged 6-23 months in working area of Pekkae health care, Tanete Rilau, Barru Regency. This research was a quantitative research with observational analytic method and crossectional design. Sampling was obtained by using purposive sampling technique. The total of sample were 98 toddlers and their mother as a respondent. The data were analyzed by using the Chi-square p0.05 in the SPSS program. The result of this research showed that there was a significant relationship between the history of complementary feeding (p-value 0.031;1.36), infectious disease (p-value 0.005;1.41),  mother’s knowledge of toddler nutrition (p-value 0.031;1.36) and economic factor (p-value 0.000; 2,71) toward the stunting. There was no significant relationship between the history of exclusive breastfeeding, toddler immunization, maternal height and the mother’s last education level toward this stunting with p-value 0.005. The most dominant factor in this research was family economic factor.Keywords : toddler, stunting, history of complementary feeding, history of infectious disease, mother’s education, mother’s knowledge, family economic factor.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to know why do many readers not understand about the meaning of the facebook post by native facebook celebritism and to find out the types of ambiguity and dominant type of lexical and syntactical ambiguity use in Facebook Post by native facebook celebritism.In this research, researcher applied desriptive qualitative method. Qualitative research, like other types of research, is descriptive, with data collected in the form of words or images rather than numbers. Choosing, reading, and underlining were the methods used to collect data. Identifying, classifying, analyzing, calculating, and interpreting the data were all used to analyze the data. Homonymy, polysemy, synonymy, and antonymy were among the linguistic ambiguities. Surface structure ambiguity and deep structure ambiguity were the two types of syntactical ambiguity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether is pictionary game can impove the student’s vocabulary mastery. This study use quantitative research. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Pinrang. The total population is 38 students consisting of 2 classes. Class VII1 and VII2 was taken as a sample using random sampling techniques, the total number of samples was 19. The instruments used in this study were vocabulary tests. The results of this study indicate that the pre-test got an average score (41.57) while the post-test got an average score (75.26). This shows that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. The p-value (0,000) is lower than the significant level (alpha (α) = 0.05). This means H1 is accepted. This study concluded that vocabulary teaching using the four-card game improved students' ability to master vocabulary mastery in seventh grade students of SMPN 1 Pinrang.

Abstract

This research aims improving students vocabulary mastery by the used of mnemonic technique at seventh grade smp negeri 3 dua pitue kalosi, In this research we use quantitative research methods, quantitative research methods are a process of finding knowledge that uses data in the form of numbers as a tool to analyze information about what the researcher want to know.The population of this research is the seventh grade students of SMP 3 Dua pitue kalosi, The instruments used in this study were pre test and post test. Instrument The research calculate the mean score, find out standard deviation of the test, compute the frequency and the rate percentage of the students’ score and testing the hypothesis of the significant difference between some independent variable by calculating the value of independent t-test use SPSS. the mean score of the students in post-test (65.36) was greater than pre-test (37.93), it means that the students who was teach by using mnemonic technique in teaching vocabulary was improve.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was determined whether the use of random word games could improved the ability of SMP N 2 Pancarijang students in vocabulary and whether students are interested in the method of this game. This study uses a mixed research method that was a quantitative research. The population of this study was seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Pancarijang in the 2018-2019 academic year. The total population was 87 students consisting of 4 classes. Class VII3 was taken as a sample using cluster sampling techniques, the total number of samples was 24. The instruments used in this study were vocabulary tests. The results of this study indicate that the pre-test got an average score (29.28) while the post-test got an average score (58.85). This shows that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test. The p-value (0,000) is lower than the significant level (alpha (α) = 0.05). This means H1 was accepted. This study concluded that vocabulary teaching using the random word game improved students' ability to master vocabulary mastery in seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Pancarijang.

Abstract

This study at Darul Aman Gombara Makassar's border school, Buq'atun Mubarakah High School, aims to evaluate the effect of students' Arabic and English language competency on learning achievement, notably in the areas of the Qur'an and Hadith. The description provided by Imam Ghozali of the procedure for computing analysis data utilizing a multivariate analysis application with the IBM SPSS 25 program, edition 9 (2019). The results showed a link between knowledge of Arabic and English and academic success (as judged by the Qur'an and Hadith), with a significant value of 0.005. H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, indicating that the hypothesis is true if the value is less than 0.05. The Arabic and English Language Ability and Learning Achievement (Qur'an and Hadith) variables are strongly associated with one another or match the necessary criteria, according to the correlation value of 0.512. A unidirectional link between the two variables is indicated by the correlation coefficient, which is 0.512 and positive. As a result, it is possible to say that a higher
