Abstract

Many of students require aid in order to expand and enhance their vocabulary. Conventional techniques of teaching vocabulary are sometimes difficult and uninteresting for students. The goal of this study is to evaluate how well project-based learning using a mind-mapping process improves seventh-grade students at SMP Ma'arif Tegalsambi's command of English vocabulary. A pre-experimental methodology was used in this study, with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population in this research was 61 students, while the sample were 30 students from class 7A. the data collection tools were the pre-test and post-test, which comprised 25 valid multiple-choice questions. To verify the hypothesis' accuracy, the researchers utilized SPSS software's paired sample T-test feature. The pre-test mean was 59.73, and the post-test mean was 85.73. Thus, it can be concluded that project-based learning using the mind mapping process can help boost students' excitement, so it can improve seventh-grade students' vocabulary mastery at SMP Ma'arif Tegalsambi.

Abstract

Science is a subject that requires special skills that students must have, one of which is scientific communication skills. Scientific communication skills have not been the focus of science learning at the junior high school level, which causes many students to have low levels of scientific communication skills. The purpose of developing a STEM SDGs-based science module is to determine how effective the use of the developed module is by integrating it with STEM SDGs in improving the scientific communication skills of junior high school students. The research conducted was a development type using the ADDIE model which went through five stages, namely the analysis, design, development, application, and evaluation stages. The product was tested using two tests, namely the effectiveness test and the validity test. Learning using the STEM SDGs-based science module that was developed has passed both tests well, indicating that the STEM SDGs-based science learning module has been proven valid and effective in improving the scientific communication skills of junior high school students.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the TGT learning model assisted by jellyfish game media on students' mathematical concept understanding abilities. This research was conducted at SDN 1 Balai Murni Jaya. This research is quantitative. This type of research uses pre-experimental design. The population in this study were all III class students consisting of 2 classes, namely class III A with 23 students and III B with 22 students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The sample in this study was III A with 23 students. The research design used was one group pretest and posttest. The data collection technique used in this study was a test. The test in this study was an essay test consisting of 8 questions. Based on the results of the hypothesis test using the paired sample t test, it can be seen that sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 <0,05. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the TGT learning model assisted by jellyfish game media on students' mathematical concept understanding abilities.

Abstract

Students as agent of change play a crucial role in contribuiting to the nation’s progress. Recognizing this responsibility, students must develop their skills and abilities not only through lectures and academic activities but also through various campus activities. This research aims to explore the relationship between extracurricular activities and academic performance among college students at STIKes RS Husada. This quantitative study involved 48 students participating in extracurricular activities. Results indicated that students' academic performance is in the medium category, with the mean value reflecting a reasonably adequate level of achievement. Chi-square test analysis showed that the variable X data follows a normal distribution, providing a strong basis for further statistical analysis. Additionally, the homogeneity of variance test confirmed that data for variables X and Y are homogeneous at the 1% significance level, supporting the reliability of the statistical analysis for both variables. Increasing extracurricular activities is seen as an effective strategy to enhance academic performance, with a positive correlation observed between extracurricular involvement and student achievement

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of SMK Aisyiyah Palembang in realizing the Pancasila Student Profile (PPP) through a learning approach and school culture. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the school integrates PPP values ​​such as religiosity, mutual cooperation, independence, critical thinking, and creativity in intracurricular, co-curricular, extracurricular activities, and daily habits. Programs such as One Day One Juz, Clean Friday, contextual learning, and student involvement in organizations are effective media in shaping the character of students. However, the implementation still faces obstacles, such as low participation of some students and the need for program innovation. This study concludes that the success of PPP implementation depends on the synergy between teachers, students, and the school as a whole. With a consistent and reflective approach, schools can be a strategic place in shaping the character of Indonesian students who are noble, independent, and globally competitive.

Abstract

Speaking skills are very controversial in the world of education. The technique for carrying out the speaking process at the elementary school level is still not in accordance with the rules, there are still many students in the speaking process who convey ideas that are not fluent and clear, and attitudes and focus on the conversation are not visible in the speaking process. This has an impact on students' speaking techniques towards speaking skills. This study concentrates on developing speaking skills through the correct technique through the therapy doll (marker) system in grade V students. The study was conducted at SDN 81/II Cadika Kec.Bungo, involving 18 students consisting of 12 males and 8 females who were registered in the 2024/2025 academic year. This study applies the type of classroom action research following the Arikunto model which consists of two cycles. Each cycle is carried out in two sessions in class and consists of four steps, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research findings show that in cycle I, individual absorption reached 40.80%, while classical learning completion reached 24.01%. There was a significant increase in cycle II, individual abilities increased by 70.40% and classical learning completion reached 70.27%. Based on the results obtained, it was concluded that learning with the application of the Therapy Doll System (SPIDOL) method can improve the speaking ability of fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This research is motivated by an interest in curriculum change, which is a routine and common occurrence in countries with globally advanced education systems. Naturally, changes in the curriculum also affect the Subject Specific Pedagogy (SSP). Based on observations at SDN 197/II Pulau Pekan during IPAS (Science and Social Studies Integration) learning, it was found that some teachers understood the concept of SSP, while others, particularly novice teachers, were not yet familiar with it—likely due to the fact that they had not studied SSP during their university education. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum has already been carried out in all classes at SDN 197/II Pulau Pekan, from Grade I to Grade VI.This study employs a qualitative research approach, which involves procedures that generate descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words. The findings of the research indicate that in the implementation of Subject Specific Pedagogy in IPAS learning—as observed during the study at SDN 197/II Pulau Pekan—the researcher found several stages carried out by teachers in relation to the teaching module. These stages include: First, in the planning phase of IPAS learning in class VA, teachers at SDN 197/II Pulau Pekan are required to be creative in modifying the teaching modules provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Teachers must also be meticulous in selecting relevant topics and materials for IPAS instruction, considering both the available facilities and infrastructure, as well as the specific needs of the students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore parents' perceptions regarding the benefits, constraints, and expectations of the Parenting Class program in early childhood education in Banjarmasin City. Parenting Class is an educational program designed to improve parents' understanding of parenting patterns, child development, and effective educational strategies. This study uses a qualitative approach with a narrative study method, collecting data through in-depth interviews with parents who participated in the program. The results showed that Parenting Class provides many benefits, such as increasing parents' knowledge of parenting patterns that are appropriate to the child's developmental stage, and helping to strengthen the relationship between parents and children. This program also increases parental involvement in children's education at school. However, several constraints were found, such as limited time for working parents, difficulty attending scheduled sessions, and less flexible delivery methods. Some parents hoped for the option of online classes or recorded sessions to facilitate their participation.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the impact of using the interactive quizwhizzer game on the interest and learning outcomes of grade X students in SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungbumi. The problem of low interest and academic achievement of students in learning mathematics encourages the need for more participatory and enjoyable learning innovations. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design was used in this study. The research subjects were selected from a group of 31 grade X-1 students as a trial group (experiment) who received game-based learning with quizwhizzer media, while 30 grade X-3 students were involved as a comparison group (control) who took similar learning without the media. The instruments used included test sheets to assess student learning outcomes and questionnaires that measured student interest in learning mathematics. Given that the data were not normally distributed, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Mann-Whitney U tests were used to analyze the data. The results of the study revealed that the use of the quizwhizzer game significantly increased students' interest in learning and academic achievement in mathematics, with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. This finding confirms that the application of interactive digital media not only encourages enthusiasm for learning, but also creates a learning atmosphere that is more lively, meaningful, and in line with the needs of today's generation of learners.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly impacted various sectors, including education. One of the AI innovations currently gaining widespread use in education is ChatGPT. The implementation of ChatGPT in the teaching and learning process offers several conveniences for students. However, it also raises the question: how does the use of ChatGPT influence students' learning motivation? This study aims to analyze the effect of using ChatGPT, a rapidly developing AI innovation in education, on students' learning motivation at Widya Pratama Institute of Pekalongan. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected via a questionnaire with 103 respondents. The research instruments were tested for validity, reliability, and normality before being analyzed using correlation and linear regression tests. The results show a strong positive correlation between the use of ChatGPT and students' learning motivation, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.702. Further linear regression analysis confirms that the use of ChatGPT significantly affects students' learning motivation (significance value = 0.000 < 0.05). These findings suggest that integrating ChatGPT into university courses has the potential to enhance students' learning motivation.
