Abstract

Bullying in educational settings, including madrasah, is a global issue that has a significant impact on student development. Data shows that around 35% of madrasah students in Indonesia have experienced various forms of bullying, including physical, verbal, psychological, and cyberbullying. Despite the existence of national regulations, such as Law No. 20 of 2003 on the National Education System and Ministry of Education and Culture Regulation No. 82 of 2015 on the Prevention and Handling of Acts of Violence in Educational Institutions, the implementation of bullying prevention measures in madrasah has not been fully effective. On the other hand, the strengthening of Islamic values such as rahmah, ‘adl, and ihsan often remains at the normative level without being practically integrated into educational policies. This study aims to analyse the transformative synergy between Islamic values and national education regulations in efforts to prevent and address bullying in madrasah. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-qualitative approach, through an analysis of primary sources (the Qur'an, Hadith, and national education regulations), secondary sources (scientific articles, books, and official reports), and tertiary sources (supporting documents and popular articles). The results of the study indicate that the integration of Islamic values with education regulations can produce comprehensive strategies that include: (1) moral development based on the Qur'an and Hadith, (2) anti-bullying policies based on national regulations, (3) teacher and counsellor training using an islah approach and digital literacy, and (4) strengthening the character curriculum through learning and extracurricular activities. This strategy is reinforced by a preventive approach in the form of anti-bullying campaigns based on Islamic values and collaborative student activities, as well as a curative approach through reconciliation mechanisms, educational sanctions, and psychological support for victims. This research emphasises that the transformative synergy between Islamic values and educational regulations is not only reactive but also preventive and curative in creating a safe, friendly, and Islamic-character-based madrasah ecosystem.

Abstract

Research on mathematics learning is increasing and developing. However, empirical research ideas on working memory (WM) and creativity are still very limited. Educators must train students' WM skills in addition to providing reinforcement for mathematics learning. A systematic literature review follows the 10-step approach by Gough et al. The research questions consist of: What are the ideas about the definition, components and abilities of working memory? The idea of Working Memory in mathematics learning related to reasoning, problem solving and creativity? The researcher determined the publication period of the relatively latest articles in 2015 - 2024. The researcher conducted a database search on PsycInfo, MathEduc, Harzing's Publish or Perish and Scopus. Meanwhile, to determine the quality of the journal, the researcher based it on the database on ScimagoJR. After sorting, the articles analyzed were 37 found in 18 different journals. There are six definitions of WM, four related to working memory components, 10 related to working memory abilities, two related to working memory descriptions of reasoning and problem solving, three related to descriptions of creativity and three ideas of WM in mathematics learning, namely arithmetic, geometry and algebra.

Abstract

Mathematical communication skills are crucial for mathematics learning, especially in understanding and solving word problems, which require conceptual understanding and systematic delivery of ideas. One way to help students acquire these skills is by implementing problem-based learning (PBL) methods, which enable them to be actively involved in the problem-solving and exploration process. This study aims to analyze students' written mathematical communication skills through the application of PBL to solving word problems. Subjects and Methods: The research method used was descriptive qualitative with 8 seventh-grade students as subjects. Data were collected through written tests, observations, and documentation, then analyzed based on three main indicators: concept visualization, use of mathematical symbols, and the ability to write explanations systematically. Results: According to the study, students were generally in the high category in written mathematical communication, with an average score of 78, but there were differences among students: four students were in the high category (83-100), one student in the medium category (75), and three students in the low category (58-67). Students in the high category were able to write solutions coherently and clearly, while students in the low category still had difficulty constructing mathematical arguments. PBL can help students in written mathematical communication, especially in understanding and solving story problems.

Abstract

The ability to write narrative texts in English is still a challenge for many high school students. Folklore is chosen as a learning medium because it contains cultural elements and a distinctive narrative structure. This study aims to analyze grammatical errors in writing folklore texts by class 10E students of SMA Negeri 1 Sukodadi and identify the factors that cause difficulties. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through written tests and structured interviews. Of the 30 students, 20 writings that met the criteria were analyzed, consisting of 10 long writings (more than two sentences) and 10 short writings (less than two sentences). Data analysis was carried out by identifying, grouping, and interpreting errors based on the surface strategy taxonomy of Dulay, Burt, and Krashen (1982), which includes omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. The results showed that the most dominant error was misformation (57,43%), followed by omission (25,68%), addition ( 8,78% and misordering each at (8,11%). Difficulties faced students include limitations in grammar and vocabulary, the influence of the mother tongue, lack of understanding of narrative structure, and low self-confidence and revision skills.
