Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of habituation methods in improving student learning discipline in the madrasah environment. The phenomenon of low learning discipline, such as lateness, non-compliance with assignments, and violations of school rules, indicates the need for an appropriate strategic approach in forming positive student learning behavior. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection through participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation. This study uses data analysis of the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, and data validation is carried out through triangulation and continuous observation. The results of the study indicate that the dominant form of application of the habituation method consists of five main elements: rules, punishments, rewards, consistency, and role models. These five elements are consistently applied by teachers and schools to form a disciplined learning routine. The implications of these findings indicate that the habituation method can form more orderly and consistent learning behavior, reduce violations of school rules, and increase student motivation and responsibility in the learning process. This study makes an important contribution to the development of classroom management strategies that are oriented towards character formation through a structured habit approach.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the forms of parental involvement as a manifestation of community participation in early childhood education. The research addresses the urgent need to strengthen collaboration between schools and families to enhance the quality of children's education, particularly in madrasah environments. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, involving observations, document reviews, and in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and four parents. Data analysis followed the flow model of Miles and Huberman, comprising data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that parental involvement manifests in four key dimensions: parenting, communication, volunteering, and home-based learning. These dimensions align with Epstein’s framework and are reflected in activities such as parenting workshops, digital communication via WhatsApp groups, volunteering in school events, and parental support in children’s home learning. The implications of this study underscore the importance of institutionalizing parental roles through structured programs and open communication strategies, which are vital in fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial school-community partnerships. Moreover, the research offers a practical model for other educational institutions to adopt similar participatory frameworks in nurturing inclusive and supportive learning environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of fun learning methods on improving learning motivation of senior high school students in Islamic Studies subjects in Ilorin, Nigeria. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey design, and involves 30 students as samples taken through purposive sampling techniques. The research instrument is a questionnaire with a Likert scale, while data analysis is carried out using the Pearson correlation test and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the help of SPSS software version 16.0. The results of the study indicate that there is a positive and significant relationship between the application of the fun learning method and student learning motivation, with a correlation coefficient value of 0.642, which exceeds the critical value at the 5% and 1% significance levels. The coefficient of determination value of 0.412 indicates that 41.20% of the variation in learning motivation can be explained by the application of the fun learning method, while the rest is influenced by other factors. The implications of these findings indicate that the application of fun learning strategies can substantially increase student engagement and persistence in the learning process. Therefore, teachers are advised to design conducive and interactive learning in order to foster students' intrinsic motivation. This research contributes to pedagogical practice by emphasizing the importance of a positive and enjoyable learning atmosphere in supporting educational success.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role of teacher exemplary behavior in character education within madrasahs, with the goal of fostering a generation that upholds both local values and global perspectives. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and school administrators, along with observations and document analysis. Thematic and content analysis techniques were applied to derive key themes and patterns from the collected data. The findings indicate that teacher exemplarity significantly influences student character formation through three main factors: strategic interaction with students and parents, the formation of a value-driven school culture, and continuous professional development. Teachers who act as role models and maintain consistent communication with stakeholders contribute to a conducive moral environment. Moreover, the alignment of school vision, leadership, and teacher training plays a pivotal role in sustaining and enhancing character education practices. The implications of this research highlight the necessity of a holistic and collaborative approach to character education involving the entire school ecosystem. It suggests that educational policymakers should strengthen teacher capacity, encourage community involvement, and institutionalize cultural values to ensure the sustainability of character education in madrasahs. These insights are valuable for improving educational strategies aimed at producing ethically grounded and globally aware graduates.

Abstract

This study focuses on the education zoning policy implemented in Indonesia, intending to analyze its impact on equal access to education, parental perceptions, and the long-term quality of education. This policy is an essential issue because it can affect the distribution of students in schools and the quality of education services received by children in various regions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the zoning policy in improving access to education, understand parental perceptions of this policy, and analyze its long-term implications for the quality of education. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews with parents, teachers, and stakeholders in zoning schools. The data obtained were analyzed thematically to identify patterns and themes in the informants' responses. The summary of the conclusions of this study shows that the zoning policy has the potential to improve access to education. However, there are still challenges regarding the quality of teaching and facilities. Parental perceptions are generally positive, but there are concerns about the gap in quality between schools. These findings recommend increasing support for zoning schools to achieve the goal of more effective education equity.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how reward and punishment strategies influence student learning motivation within the context of an Islamic boarding school. The research seeks to understand the pedagogical impact of these strategies in promoting academic engagement and character formation. Utilizing a qualitative case study method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and students, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that verbal praise and symbolic non-material rewards significantly enhance students' intrinsic motivation, foster greater enthusiasm for learning, and lead to improved academic performance. Meanwhile, religious-based punishments such as reading istighfar, reciting Surah Yasin, and public apologies help instill moral awareness and personal responsibility in a constructive manner. These dual strategies not only promote discipline and self-regulation but also nurture a spiritually supportive educational atmosphere. The implementation of both reward and punishment proves effective in creating a balanced and motivating learning environment, aligning with Islamic pedagogical values. The study contributes to the growing literature on holistic educational practices by offering insights into motivational dynamics in pesantren-based settings. It suggests that integrating intrinsic motivational strategies with spiritually grounded disciplinary methods can support both academic excellence and ethical development. As such, educators are encouraged to apply these approaches thoughtfully to maximize student potential within culturally and religiously contextualized learning environments.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to explore the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model in increasing students' cognitive engagement and reducing boredom during classroom learning. Using the Classroom Action Research (CAR) methodology, this study involved 24 female students from class VIII B Regular. Data collection used pre-test and post-test assessments to evaluate learning progress. The intervention followed four procedural stages: planning, action implementation, observation/evaluation, and reflection. Initial findings revealed suboptimal student performance, with only 8.3% achieving the learning mastery standard (mean score: 56.91). After implementing the TGT model in the second cycle, significant improvements were observed. The students' average score increased to 80.25, and 70.83% of students met the learning mastery threshold. These results demonstrate the capacity of the TGT model to stimulate active student participation, encourage cooperative learning, and improve critical thinking skills. This study underscores the importance of implementing a student-centered pedagogical approach to maximize educational outcomes and engagement, especially in a complex subject such as Tajwid Science. This study provides valuable insights for educators seeking to develop interactive and inclusive classroom environments. While the results are promising, further research is recommended to examine the adaptability of the TGT model across different subject areas and student demographics.
