Abstract

The tourism business world continues to grow in line with the development of tourism that accommodates all the needs of tourists visiting various tourist attractions. The purpose of this study is to develop various strategies to answer these needs both in increasing the number of entrepreneurs and workers in accordance with the needs of the business world, the industrial world and the world of work, especially in the tourism sector. This study uses a qualitative research approach where qualitative research as a scientific method is often used and implemented by a group of researchers in the field of social sciences, including education. The results obtained after conducting research in two interview quotes delivered by two informants from the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Agency, it can be said that the need for workers in the tourism sector in 8 Regencies Around Lake Toba is currently still high. However, to support the two statements above, a projection will be calculated based on four tourism business samples, namely, star hotels, non-star hotels, restaurants/eateries and Travel. Based on arithmetic calculations, the number of workers in the next five (5) years can be projected. In 2023 the number of workers in travel is estimated at 722 people. In 2024 it will increase to 766 people. In 2025, there were 827 people. In 2026, it increased to 902 people and in 2027, it increased to 1,010 people. The conclusion obtained from the research results can be seen in the projection of the number of special workforce data on travel in the next five (5) years, increasing by around 5% - 12% each year.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial management and taxation strategies on the tax burden ratio in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the IDX in 2019-2023. The research design used is an associative quantitative approach with a longitudinal design. The population in this study were all companies in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the IDX in 2019-2023. Based on the results of the regression analysis explained in Chapter IV, it can be concluded that financial management and taxation strategies have an important role in determining the tax burden ratio in transportation and logistics sector companies listed on the IDX during the 2019–2023 period. Capital Structure (X1), Tax Planning (X4), Tax Credit Optimization (X5), and Tax Burden Reduction (X6) are proven to have a positive and significant effect on the Tax Burden Ratio (Y), with the contribution of each variable increasing between 17% to 44% to the increase in the tax burden ratio. This finding shows that the more intensive the company is in using debt, carrying out tax planning, maximizing tax credits, and implementing tax burden reduction, the tax burden borne by the company will increase significantly. Meanwhile, Asset Management (X2) and Liquidity Management (X3) do not show a significant effect. This indicates that the effectiveness of asset and liquidity use has not directly affected the tax burden in this sector, perhaps because its contribution is greater to operational efficiency than tax liabilities. The regression model used has also met all classical assumption tests, including normality, autocorrelation, multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity, so that the results of the analysis can be said to be valid and can be used as a basis for strategic decision making.

Abstract

The agrarian conflict on Rempang Island, Riau Archipelago Province, reflects structural issues involving indigenous communities, the government, and investors in the context of the Rempang Eco-City development. This study analyzes the conflict using Harold Lasswell's (1936) political communication perspective on "Who Gets What, When, and How?" and Jürgen Habermas's (1991) concept of the public sphere to understand the lack of deliberative communication that includes all parties." This conflict was triggered by the granting of Business Use Rights (HGU) without transparency in the early 2000s, leading to physical clashes in September 2023. This research uses a descriptive-analytical qualitative method, with data collection techniques through literature studies on relevant regulations and data. Results show that deliberative dialogue based on respect for customary rights is key to sustainable agrarian conflict resolution. Clashes between security forces and the community occurred on September 7, 2023, marking the peak of the tension that had built up. How? The resolution of this conflict ideally involves a dialogic communication approach that embraces and prioritizes the community's rights. However, errors in land rights documentation by the central and regional governments have become one of the factors causing this conflict. The Riau Islands provincial and national governments are expected to adopt consistent spatial planning policies that are human rights-sensitive, with mass communication and constructive dialogue with communities and potential investors/developers. The key is cultural communication that penetrates indigenous communities and Malay culture. The research findings indicate a contradiction between the ideal development policies ratified by the national government and the protection of the traditional rights of indigenous communities that are neglected in the region. This research also highlights the importance of legal recognition of the rights of indigenous peoples on Rempang Island as part of the state's responsibility to respect and protect the implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) ratified by the Republic of Indonesia through Law Number 11 of 2005.

The research method in this study is used with descriptive research with a survey method The research instrument is used for data collection that is useful for researching populations and samples that have been determined. The data from this study must be quantitative data or statistical data in order to test the hypothesis that has been determined. The nature of this research is explanatory. This explanatory strategy is often referred to as a correlational research strategy (linking one variable with a variable of one to the other. The purpose of this study is to find out the improvement of Student Soft Skills in the Economics Education Study Program as an impact of the implementation of MBKM. So sig. = 0.05 ≥ sig. test T = 0.000. So there is an influence from the treatment given, namely the soft skills of students. With Tcount = 2.38 and Ttable = 2.49, then Tcount < Ttable. So it can be concluded that there is a significant influence between X and Y. with an average student score of 68 with a frequency of 12. Basically, the main purpose of this study is to find out how the impact of the independent curriculum on the impact of the independent curriculum: a case study in the economic education study program. Abstract

Currently, the phenomenon of using Paylater services in Indonesia, especially among the younger generation, has become a major highlight in recent months, although it offers convenience, there are significant risks, especially the occurrence of "default", the impact of which can affect the stability of the economy, banking, and social society. The high number of defaults will disrupt economic stability, one of which is a decrease in purchasing power, in addition to the risk of inflation due to fines and interest on debt that are increasing and accumulating, creating a negative economic growth cycle. This banking sector situation is a serious challenge, with increasing non-performing loans so that they have bad credit status, it will thwart financial performance in business growth and investment, not to mention the additional operational costs to use the services of other parties in collection so that profitability decreases as well as public trust. Broadly speaking, if preventive measures are not taken, the younger generation who are caught in the default phase will experience financial decline, as a result they will experience emotional and mental stress so that negative social stigma will stick and ultimately will affect the creation of widespread and prolonged social injustice due to uncontrolled consumer behavior.

Abstract

This qualitative study explores social and religious interactions in Medan, Indonesia. Medan has many ethnic and religious groups. This diversity makes it a great place to see how communities live together and handle conflicts. Researchers collected data through interviews with community leaders, religious figures, and residents. They also did participant observation and analyzed relevant documents.  The findings indicate that interactions among different groups are mostly positive. People show mutual respect and engage in shared activities. Interfaith talks and joint efforts, usually guided by religious leaders and local governments, improve understanding and tolerance. Yet, some problems persist. These are stereotypes, competition for resources, and the political manipulation of identities. The study highlights the importance of good communication, community efforts, and inclusive policies. These are key to building social cohesion. Medan's diverse culture creates opportunities for positive connections. Still, we must keep working to face challenges and prevent conflicts. This research adds to the discussion on managing diversity and fostering peaceful coexistence in urban Indonesia.
