Abstract

The tourism business world continues to grow in line with the development of tourism that accommodates all the needs of tourists visiting various tourist attractions. The purpose of this study is to develop various strategies to answer these needs both in increasing the number of entrepreneurs and workers in accordance with the needs of the business world, the industrial world and the world of work, especially in the tourism sector. This study uses a qualitative research approach where qualitative research as a scientific method is often used and implemented by a group of researchers in the field of social sciences, including education. The results obtained after conducting research in two interview quotes delivered by two informants from the Lake Toba Authority Implementing Agency, it can be said that the need for workers in the tourism sector in 8 Regencies Around Lake Toba is currently still high. However, to support the two statements above, a projection will be calculated based on four tourism business samples, namely, star hotels, non-star hotels, restaurants/eateries and Travel. Based on arithmetic calculations, the number of workers in the next five (5) years can be projected. In 2023 the number of workers in travel is estimated at 722 people. In 2024 it will increase to 766 people. In 2025, there were 827 people. In 2026, it increased to 902 people and in 2027, it increased to 1,010 people. The conclusion obtained from the research results can be seen in the projection of the number of special workforce data on travel in the next five (5) years, increasing by around 5% - 12% each year.

Abstract

Peraturan Otoritas Jasa Keuangan No. 51/POJK.03/2017 requires public companies to publish a Sustainability Report to the Financial Services Authority and public disclosure. The Sustainability Report functions to respond to challenges in fulfilling sustainability strategies, intended to motivate companies to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risks so that they can meet stakeholder expectations. Materiality has a fundamental role in the development and preparation of Sustainability Reports. Regulations in the European Union have made it mandatory to apply double materiality as an approach to disclosing material topics in sustainability reporting, which is regulated in Directive (EU) 2022/2464. Double materiality is based on identifying material issues from two perspectives: environmental and social materiality (outward impact) and financial materiality (inward impact). This research aims to analyze the initial application of the double materiality approach to the Sustainability Report 2023 of companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in the energy sector (IDXENERGY) and the basic material sector (IDXBASIC). Researchers conducted content analysis on companies registered on the Indonesian Stock Exchange which are classified in the energy sector and basic material sector based on the Indonesia Stock Exchange Industrial Classification or IDX-IC. The results reveal the voluntary implementation of the double materiality approach in several companies in the energy sector and basic material sector. This research also shows the suitability of the selection of sustainability topics in the report with the GRI Standards for the oil and gas sector (GRI 11), coal sector (GRI 12) and mining sector (GRI 14).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial management and taxation strategies on the tax burden ratio in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the IDX in 2019-2023. The research design used is an associative quantitative approach with a longitudinal design. The population in this study were all companies in the transportation and logistics sector listed on the IDX in 2019-2023. Based on the results of the regression analysis explained in Chapter IV, it can be concluded that financial management and taxation strategies have an important role in determining the tax burden ratio in transportation and logistics sector companies listed on the IDX during the 2019–2023 period. Capital Structure (X1), Tax Planning (X4), Tax Credit Optimization (X5), and Tax Burden Reduction (X6) are proven to have a positive and significant effect on the Tax Burden Ratio (Y), with the contribution of each variable increasing between 17% to 44% to the increase in the tax burden ratio. This finding shows that the more intensive the company is in using debt, carrying out tax planning, maximizing tax credits, and implementing tax burden reduction, the tax burden borne by the company will increase significantly. Meanwhile, Asset Management (X2) and Liquidity Management (X3) do not show a significant effect. This indicates that the effectiveness of asset and liquidity use has not directly affected the tax burden in this sector, perhaps because its contribution is greater to operational efficiency than tax liabilities. The regression model used has also met all classical assumption tests, including normality, autocorrelation, multicollinearity, and homoscedasticity, so that the results of the analysis can be said to be valid and can be used as a basis for strategic decision making.

Abstract

This research examines the level of fulfillment of the minimum competencies required in the initial nursing assessment in the Emergency Department (IGD) of Bogor City General Hospital based on the 2022 accreditation standards set by the Ministry of Health.. The study aims to provide an overview of nurses' adherence to completing the minimal content of initial nursing assessments in the ED and to identify factors influencing this compliance. A qualitative research method was employed, focusing on nurses as subjects and medical records related to the initial nursing assessment forms during May 2024 as the object of study. Data analysis was conducted through medical record reviews, interviews with ED nurses, and field observations. The findings revealed that out of 8,077 patient medical records from May 1 to May 31, 2024, 53% of the minimal assessment components were not filled out, while 47% were completed. Among the thirteen components studied, the highest percentage of unfilled components was in pain assessment (12%), followed by allergy history and medication history assessments (10% each), and economic and health history assessments (9%). According to the compliance level criteria by Yayasan Spiritia (2006), the 47% compliance rate falls into the non-compliant category, failing to meet the target set by Starkes (2022), which requires a 100% completion rate and 0% unfilled components. Interviews indicated that factors affecting compliance include human resources aspects (workload, motivation, knowledge, discipline, and communication), regulations, leadership, training material, and facilities. These findings underscore the need for enhanced training, better management of nurses' workloads, clear operational standards for initial nursing assessments, improved supervision and monitoring systems, and consideration of simplifying assessment components while adhering to hospital accreditation standards to enhance nursing service quality and patient safety in the ED

Abstract

One of the indicators of the success of the development of a country, province, district or city is the human development index (HDI), because it can describe the success of building the quality of human life. This index is not only useful for determining the development ranking but is also strategic data to measure government performance and is also one of the allocators for determining the General Allocation Fund (DAU) from the central government to the regions. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of economic growth, open unemployment rate, and percentage of poor population on the HDI of regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province. The data analyzed were panel data which were a combination of cross-section data (25 regencies and 8 cities) and time series ( 2010-2022 ) obtained from the publication of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sumatra Province. The data were analyzed using Eviews version 12.0. Based on the data analysis, the best panel data regression model was the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the partial test (t-test), the open unemployment rate and percentage of poor population had a negative and significant effect on the HDI and were in accordance with theoretical expectations. On the other hand, the effect of economic growth was not in accordance with theoretical expectations because its effect was negative and significant on the HDI. This shows that economic growth is not necessarily a panacea for overcoming the problems of unemployment and poverty. In other words, increasing economic growth cannot automatically increase the purchasing power of the population of regencies/cities in North Sumatra Province. Furthermore, the simultaneous test showed that the three independent variables had a significant effect on the HDI. The coefficient of determination of the panel data regression model is 88.89 percent, which means that there are still other independent variables that can explain the variation in HDI, although only 11.11 percent.
