Abstract

This article presents an in-depth analysis of the history of the founding of the Umayyad dynasty in 661 AD, with a focus on the post-civil war context in the Muslim community.  The appointment of Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan as the first Caliph was the starting point for the shift in power from Khulafaur Rasyidin to the Umayyad family-based dynasty.  This aspect of history is explored by paying attention to the key events that shaped this dynasty.  The analysis in the journal describes the period of glory and success of the Umayyads under the reign of Caliph Abdul Malik and Al-Walid bin Abdul Malik.  The factors that contributed to this success, such as infrastructure development, economic progress, and political stability, are analyzed in detail.  The construction of landmarks such as the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus is also a focus in exploring the architectural and cultural achievements of that time.  and explore the factors that led to dramatic changes in political and social structures.  The analysis involves authoritarian rule, popular resistance, and internal conflict which reached its peak with the Karbala Massacre in 680 AD. An in-depth understanding of these tensions and changes is the core of this subchapter.  This paper makes a significant contribution to the understanding of the history of the Umayyad dynasty, presenting a comprehensive view of the events and dynamics that shaped and ended their reign.

Abstract

In media education functions as a means or tool to achieve learning goals. Because the information contained in the media must be able to involve participants students both in mind or mentally and in the form of real activities, so that learning can occur. One of the mathematical materials that requires the use of media is material on three-variable linear equation systems and the most frequently used media educators use Microsoft Powerpoint media because this media is easy to understand, therefore it is necessary to develop a media PowerPoint-based learning because it is through learning media Powerpoint can increase student participation over time more meaningful and so that students become more enthusiastic during the process learning and the learning objectives to be achieved are achieved well.

Abstract

The arrival of the Dutch to Indonesia was initially motivated by the ship's aim of searching for spices, and the first Dutch ships entered the waters of the Indonesian archipelago in 1596, after the arrival of the Portuguese and Spanish. The history of the arrival of the Dutch to Indonesia includes several political events and ocean exploration carried out by Europeans. In 1602, the VOC (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) was founded by the Dutch government with the aim of controlling and trading the abundant spices in the Asian region. VOC became the first multinational company in the world by introducing a trading system and controlling ports and kingdoms in Indonesia. At that time, the Netherlands experienced important policies such as the right of expatriation, which guaranteed the right to cut and burn spices, and contingenten, which was a policy of taxpayers who had to guarantee a predetermined nominal amount. In running its government, the VOC experienced various economic policies aimed at controlling trade and supervising monopolies. However, several factors such as competition between Dutch traders, intense trade competition with England and France, and rampant corrupt practices influenced the VOC's success. In 1799, the VOC was officially declared bankrupt, and its assets were taken over by the Dutch government. In the context of colonial rule, the Netherlands experienced important policies such as expatriation, contingent and church rights. Dutch colonial buildings in Indonesia developed with architecture that reflected local culture, and churches were one of the buildings standing at that time

Abstract

Guidance and counseling is an integral part of education that consciously positions students' abilities to explore, choose, plan and make decisions to achieve their future. The importance of career development among high school (SMA) students is becoming increasingly urgent along with rapid developments in the world of education and work. Not all teenagers can make career decisions easily, and many students experience episodes of doubt before settling on a career path. These doubts are manifested as difficulties that individuals face when deciding on a career. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research used by researchers is a qualitative approach. This research aims to investigate the career guidance planning program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar, with a focus on students' understanding of their potential, knowledge of various career options, and development of relevant skills. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is through in-depth interviews with resource persons. This career guidance is given to all students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar starting from class 10 to class 12. The career planning program in class 11 places more emphasis on repeating career guidance information in class 10 such as counseling on college pathways through SNBT or SNBP planning. In class 12, career guidance is carried out through outreach by state and private higher education institutions from D3 to S1 level. The positive impact arising from the career guidance planning program at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Karanganyar is that it makes it easier for students to determine the steps they will take in determining their career. Students become more likely to have a more organized view of the future.

Abstract

The success of the mathematics learning process can be seen from the learning outcomes achieved by students after carrying out the mathematics learning process. Mathematics learning outcomes are students' abilities obtained after learning activities. One of the problems that is often encountered in mathematics learning is usually when students are unable to work on mathematics problems due to a lack of understanding of students' concepts, thus affecting the students' learning outcomes. Many factors influence students' mathematics learning outcomes, one of which is the learning model. The Explicit Instruction Learning Model is a direct teaching designed to develop students' knowledge to solve problem stages and the ability to remember. So that students can understand the learning step by step about the Absolute Value material.

Abstract

The Islamic civilization's period of advancement from 600-1000 CE, often referred to as the Golden Age of Islam, represents a pivotal era in human history marked by unity in Islamic values, a strong moral foundation, and a cohesive identity among Muslims. This epoch reached its zenith during the times of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the Umayyad Dynasty, and the Abbasid Dynasty. Key factors, such as steadfast adherence to Islamic values, laid the groundwork for a robust moral foundation and a detailed Islamic legal system. Cultural heritage emerged as a primary driver for scientific development, with translation centers and universities fostering a dynamic intellectual environment. The Umayyad period witnessed territorial expansion into North Africa, the Middle East, and Spain, leaving a significant impact on cultural and social progress. Despite internal challenges, the Umayyad's success provided a basis for advancements in science, art, and architecture. The Abbasid Golden Age saw the establishment of the House of Wisdom, a translation center that amalgamated classical knowledge. The Abbasids became intellectual and cultural hubs, making strides in science, medicine, art, and architecture. Influential figures such as Ibn Rushd, Al-Ghazali, Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Sina made monumental contributions across various fields of study. In conclusion, the Islamic Golden Age demonstrated that the harmony between Islamic values, scientific development, and cultural appreciation served as the primary driving force, while future research prospects may explore practical applications in contemporary contexts, supporting positive developments in various aspects of human life.
