Abstract

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict, particularly in Rafah City, Gaza Strip, has drawn global attention due to escalating violence, prompting widespread responses on X social media. This study analyses public sentiment on the topic ‘Eyes on Rafah’ using 403 tweets, with 306 classified as positive and 94 as negative. This study aims to analyse the world's response to the prolonged conflict To evaluate these sentiments, Text Mining techniques were applied, comparing the performance of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Naïve Bayes algorithms. SMOTE optimisation was implemented to address data imbalance and enhance algorithm performance. Findings reveal that the SVM algorithm achieved superior results with 97% accuracy, precision of 97%, recall of 100%, and F1-Score of 98%, compared to Naïve Bayes with 86% accuracy, precision of 100%, recall of 75%, and F1-Score of 85%. These results highlight the effectiveness of SVM in analysing sentiment and the critical role of SMOTE in improving classification accuracy for both algorithms.

Abstract

The research was examined an analysis of politeness strategies used by the main character of “Wonder” movie. A qualitative descriptive method was employed to analyze the politeness and expressive illocutionary acts depicted in the movie. The data were collected by following Brown and Levinson's strategies, by watching the movie and analyzing its transcript and utterances, focusing on the politeness strategies was the three main characters in that movie. By finding the main character's utterances, the data found 46 positive politeness, 19 negative politeness, 17 bald on record, and 6 off records. The most apparent from the utterance was a positive politeness strategy of asking for a reason. In conclusion, the result is expected to facilitate the English teacher to take the movie as one of the alternative ways to educate skill of good communication. Educators can adopt the politeness strategies as depicted in the “Wonder” movie as same as the other movie in the teaching and learning process in the real classroom.

Abstract

This research aims to classify the ripeness levels of Indramayu mangoes using the K-Means Clustering algorithm based on HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) color features. The process begins with capturing mango images, followed by preprocessing steps such as normalization and resizing to enhance image quality. Next, color feature extraction is conducted, focusing on the Hue value as an indicator of color changes that characterize ripeness levels. The optimal number of clusters is determined using the Elbow method, resulting in two clusters: ripe mangoes and unripe mangoes. The clustering quality evaluation is performed using the Silhouette Score, which indicates an accuracy of 80%. The results demonstrate that the K-Means algorithm successfully classifies Indramayu mangoes, generating 495 image data divided into two main categories. This study contributes to improving the efficiency of automated mango ripeness classification, with potential applications in the agricultural industry.

Abstract

Stunting is a disorder of child growth and development, caused by chronic malnutrition and repeated infections that last for a long time, generally from pregnancy to the age of 2 years. Preventing stunting is an important priority, especially during pregnancy. The support of a husband greatly influences the psyche of a pregnant woman to act and make the best decisions to determine her health status. If the husband support the mother to check her pregnancy, maintain a diet, avoid stress, maintain her health and so on, then the mother will be motivated and enthusiastic in undergoing her pregnancy. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of husband's support in preventing stunting during pregnancy at the Akbar Medika Clinic, Mojokerto Regency. The research design used in this study was descriptive. The population was all pregnant women in the third trimester at the Akbar Medika Clinic, Mojokerto Regency, as many as 30 people with the sampling technique used non-probability sampling type of accidental sampling as many as 28 people. The results of this study are that husband's support in efforts to prevent stunting during pregnancy in pregnant women in the third trimester is mostly good (60.7%). The characteristics and sociodemographics of pregnant women's husbands are related to their husbands' support in efforts to prevent stunting during pregnancy, some of which are age and education. The higher the husband's age, the better the knowledge he gets and the better his mindset, so that the husband behaves well, especially in providing support. The higher the level of education of the husband, the better the support given. With higher education, husbands can more easily receive information and are able to apply all things or good behavior for their wife's pregnancy. Abstract

Many broiler farming industries in Indonesia still use traditional methods in feed management, which often cause inefficiencies and human errors. Without modern solutions, these problems can have a negative impact on livestock productivity and health, as well as increase operational costs. This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based feed monitoring application that can monitor feed stocks in real-time, set automatic feeding schedules, and analyze feed consumption data to increase efficiency, accuracy, and overall productivity. Interim results show that the feed monitoring application with IoT technology is able to provide accurate and detailed information in real-time, reduce human error, and increase operational efficiency significantly. It is hoped that the implementation of this innovative application can help farmers optimize feed management, increase livestock productivity, enhance animal welfare, and reduce operational costs in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study examines the maritime diplomacy strategy carried out by Indonesia in maintaining Indonesia's sovereignty in the Natuna Islands. The maritime border in the Natuna Islands is vulnerable even though Indonesia has declared the area around the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) as part of Indonesia's sovereign rights in accordance with the United Nations Convention for the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). As a result, the waters of Indonesia's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) recognized by UNCLOS are considered Chinese territory in the South China Sea. Qualitative methods with a descriptive approach are used in research to find the meaning and efforts of maritime diplomacy carried out by Indonesia with sources obtained through journals and research. The purpose of this research is to understand the strategy carried out by the Indonesian government in conducting maritime diplomacy in a cooperative, persuasive and coercive manner by taking diplomatic steps while inviting respect for Indonesia's sovereign rights. The result of this study is that Indonesia and China have made various diplomatic efforts to reduce disputes in the South China Sea.

Abstract

This article explores the critical role of signage in enhancing transportation safety and preventing accidents on roadways. Effective signage serves as a vital communication tool that informs drivers and pedestrians of regulations, hazards, and navigational guidance. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing literature and case studies, we examine how various factors—such as visibility, clarity, design, and positioning of signage—contribute to overall road safety. The article highlights the correlation between well-designed signage and a significant reduction in traffic incidents, particularly in high-risk areas. Furthermore, we discuss the psychological impact of signage on driver behavior and decision-making processes, emphasizing how clear and intuitive signage can lead to safer driving habits. The study also considers the role of technological advancements, such as digital and interactive signage, in enhancing the effectiveness of communication on the roads. By identifying the key elements that influence the effectiveness of transportation signage, this research aims to provide actionable insights for policymakers, urban planners, and transportation safety advocates to improve road safety measures. Recommendations for best practices in signage design and implementation are presented, along with case studies illustrating successful interventions. A quantitative approach was used using a Likert scale questionnaire to collect drivers' perceptions regarding safety regarding signage (traffic signs). This questionnaire focuses on identifying areas that frequently experience accidents, congestion and certain safety problems. A Likert scale was used to assess the level of satisfaction and perception regarding safety along the road. The research surveyed a total of 116 respondents who were residents of the city of Tegal.
