Abstract

The transformation that occurs in the peri-urban area will cause changes in the morphological peri-urban area and affect changes in the form of agricultural land use and have an impact on changes in the socio-economic conditions of the people in the area. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of changes in agricultural land to non-agriculture on the socio-economic aspects of the community in Jati Agung. This research uses a deductive approach. The data collection method used primary data from questionnaires and interviews, the secondary data collected from Landsat 8 satellite image and BPS South Lampung Regency in 2013-2020. The method of analysis uses the predominant peri-urban zone classification with urban or predominantly urban characteristics divided into Urban Frame Zones and Urban-rural Frame Zones, which have a percentage of agricultural land use less than 50%. Statistical linear regression method is used to see the effect of the transformation of agricultural land use into non-agriculture on the socio-economic aspects of the peoples. The results of statistical tests show that there is a disproportionate effect with a large effect of 29.5% on the total population, 7.6% on population density, 8.6% on Livelihoods and 20.2% on income.

Abstract

Previous research often perceived peri-urbanization as a spatial phenomenon that occurs in big cities, which creates problems for suburban areas. This article present empirical evidence of peri-urbanization in small city using the case of Tallunglipu District as a peri-urban area of Rantepao, North Toraja. Comparing the physical, social, and economic data ini 2010 and 2020 using a descriptive statistical analysis, this article found that the higher the physical, social, and economic change, the higher tendency of having a strong urban character, which indicates urbanization, and vice versa. The peri-urban development in Tallunglipu Distric can categorized into five typologies: (1) areas that have high changes in physical, social, and aspects, (2) area with high changes in physical and social aspects but low in economic aspects, (3) area with high changes in social aspect but low on physical and economic aspects, (4) area with high changes on physical aspect but low on social and economic aspects, (5) areas with low changes on physical, social, and economic aspects. Peri-urban typology based on the characteristics of level of changes can provide information for the government in formulating patterns of urban land use in peri-urban areas.

Abstract

The Canggu area is one of the most popular nomadic tourist destinations in the world. This makes the development of the Canggu area increasingly important. With the COVID-19 pandemic, the nomadic style of tourism in the Canggu area has become adaptive tourism during the pandemic. This study aims to determine the stages of development of nomadic tourism in the Canggu area using a deductive qualitative method. The results of the study show that the Canggu area has undergone four stages: exploration, involvement, development, and consolidation. Observations show that currently Canggu Area tourism in the tourism area life cycle analysis is at stage 4, or the consolidation stage. COVID-19 has brought this area to a consolidation stage. The existence of the COVID-19 pandemic requires the concept of nomadic tourism to adapt and strengthen its quality. This has received a positive response as seen from a good reputation and structure in accommodating the needs of digital nomads that occurred during the pandemic in this region. so that the consolidation phase can strengthen the attractiveness of the Canggu Area as a nomadic tourism destination in the future.

The development of this processing industry will certainly have an impact on the socio-economic conditions of the community. This study aims to identify the impact of the development of anchovy processing industry in Pasaran Island on the socio-economic conditions of the community. In responding to this research, quantitative analysis was used to see changes in the socio-economic conditions of the community before and after the development of the fish processing industry. Qualitative descriptive analysis to describe the impact and spatial linkages of Pasaran Island anchovy processing activities on the socio-economic. From the results of the analysis it was found that the development of the anchovy processing industry in Pasaran Island had an impact on the socio-economic conditions of the community. These impacts include changes in employment opportunities, housing conditions, infrastructure development, ownership of living facilities, income and expenses. The impact on employment opportunities such as opening jobs, especially women workers from outside the island. The impact on housing conditions such as the change of buildings from wooden houses to permanent houses. The impact on infrastructure development such as easy access to clean water, electricity and road conditions. The impact on ownership of living facilities such as an increase in the number of ownership of living facilities. Impact on income and expenses such as increased income and expenses. Furthermore, the spatial linkage of anchovy processing activities that agglomerate on Pasaran Island results in an even distribution of the socio-economic conditions of the community.

Abstract

Every year, Metro City sees a rise in population, which has an impact on how the city uses its property. One of the cities in Lampung Province with a total area of 7315.40 hectares is Metro City. Given that this territory makes up only 0.22 percent of Lampung Province's total area, there is concern that Metro City may face issues as its population grows and its need for land increases while its supply does not.. By adopting a guided categorization approach to define the Metro City's land use area, the land use is divided into three categories: the use of developed land, the use of undeveloped land, and the use of water bodies. A supervised classification analysis was utilized to identify the land use in Metro City, and a straightforward linear regression analysis was employed to ascertain the connection between population and land use in Metro City. In the years 2010 to 2020, Metro City's population grew by 23,205, while in the same period, the amount of developed land in Metro City climbed by 429.72 hectares. The North Metro District, which has an area of 156.94 hectares, had the subdistricts that underwent the greatest changes in land use from undeveloped land use to the most extensive use of built up land, while the South Metro subdistrict, which has an area of only 48.53 hectares, underwent the fewest changes. If the population is compared to the use of undeveloped land, the relationship is inverse; for every rise in population, the use of undeveloped land will suffer a decrease. However, there will be an increase in the use of built-up land for every increase in population.

Abstract

The Golden Triangle Setiabudi represents an economic zone characterised by significant worker mobility. The congestion resulting from this high mobility can be alleviated by implementing the concept of Transit-Oriented Development at existing transit hubs with development potential, namely Setiabudi Astra Station and Bendungan Hilir Station. To implement this concept effectively, understanding the walking preferences of the worker demographic, particularly those aligned with utilitarian walking profiles, is essential. By discerning these preferences, it becomes possible to identify which transit points can cater to the walking requirements of the worker group. This research is executed through qualitative method with data and information obtained through questionnaire and field observations. This investigation revealed that connectivity and pedestrian infrastructure are pivotal factors influencing the walking preferences of the worker group. Both transit hubs also satisfy the criteria for these variables. Hence, it can be inferred that the areas surrounding Setiabudi Astra Station and Bendungan Hilir Station have met the walking preferences of the working demographic and possess the potential to evolve into Transit-Oriented Development zones. However, there is a need to address indicators that remain unmet, notably the block perimeter length, to offer more diverse walking route options for the worker group.

Abstract

Human activity is closely related to open spaces. Non-green open space (RTNH) is a form of public open space that has social, cultural, and environmental conservation functions. The lack of RTNH in the urban area of Sleman, especially in Depok District, occurs due to very high population density and development that is considered very impulsive. The research method used in this research uses critical thinking, using secondary data that is processed and matched with conditions in the field. The results of this study obtained that the high level of development was one of them caused by government programs related to the Fast Growing Strategic Area (KSCT). The overlapping policies make it impossible to make a clear reference to the direction of development in the urban area of Sleman. Therefore, coordination between the central government and local governments is needed in formulating regulations related to RTNH and community synergy so that their implementation is effective.

Abstract

Every human being has rights, including children. Children's rights are clearly regulated in Law no. 35 of 2014, and internationally it is also included in the internationally recognized Convention on the Rights of the Child. One form of children's rights is the right to have an opinion and the right to their space to be creative and express themselves freely. Children's rights to space tend to be considered to have been fulfilled from the perspective of adult humans without looking directly from the children's perspective. This tendency gives rise to problems where children do not have the space they want based on their rights. This research is aimed at getting children's perspectives directly on space, to be able to see whether children's rights to their space have been fulfilled from the children's perspective. This research was conducted using a qualitative research methodology and through a naturalistic approach. The analysis used in this research is empirical induction and intentional induction analysis. From this research, the concept of the formation of children's perspectives on space was obtained, namely: Children's perspective on space is influenced by the availability of space for children, children's social interactions and games that children like which determine their space.

Abstract

Bandung City exemplifies this as part of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. While the government establishes creative spaces like the Bandung Creative Hub, organic community-driven spaces also thrive. Each space possesses unique characteristics, but ideal creative spaces should meet criteria related to institutional support, flexible regulations, and diverse human resources. This mixed-methods study aims to identify the characteristics of Bandung's creative spaces based on institutional, regulatory, and human resource aspects. Qualitative data from interviews will be quantitatively assessed to compare with ideal criteria. Understanding these characteristics can inform urban planning and policy for fostering creative economies. Furthermore, creative space is also believed that it can foster creativity, innovation, and knowledge-based economic growth.

Abstract

Historic Urban Landscape is a historic city management approach that is considered more comprehensive in balancing between social and economic development and cultural heritage conservation. UNESCO adopted the Recommendation on The Historic Urban Landscape on 10 November 2011 at the UNESCO General Assembly. As an approach that can be adopted by various countries, this approach recommends four main tools, namely civic engagement, knowledge and planning, regulatory system, and financial tools. This research aims to identify civic engagement tools in the management of the historic city area called Kawasan Sumbu Filosofi in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study research and is descriptive in nature. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observation, and literature studies. This research reveals that civic engagement in the management of the Kawasan Sumbu Filosofi in the voice area has been granted and guaranteed through various regulations. In terms of access, the government has provided a space for discussion, but the information the government provides still predominates in this forum. Concerning the aspect of control, community control over the surrounding environment has not been built. In general, the quality of community participation must continue to be encouraged to realize sustainable urban development and preservation.
