Abstract

This research discusses the problems of interfaith marriages in Indonesia., both in the form of religiously valid marriages and legally in the sense of being recognized by the State as well as the impact or implications of interfaith marriages in Indonesia. This research uses a type of Normative research by combining legal research methods that examine legal norms or rules (normative approach) by examining written rules, such as laws, regulations, or legal doctrines. The results of this study indicate that by the mandate of the marriage law article 2 paragraph (1) states that marriage is valid, if it is carried out according to the laws of each religion and belief, and is emphasized by paragraph (2) to obtain legality and administrative recognition. The implications of interfaith marriages for couples of different religions exist and are recognized administratively if the spouse files a lawsuit and the State Court in this case provides a recommendation for registration in the civil registry. However, this is recognized administratively but not religiously. The legal consequences arising from interfaith marriages are: 1) issues related to the validity of marriage or the nullity of marriage. 2) problems of inheritance specifically for Muslims. 3) problems in the event of a domestic case, because there are still legal issues within the authority of the court handling the case.

Abstract

Canada has implemented various initiatives in Iraq focused on combating gender-based violence and discrimination. In this article, Canada implemented multiple initiatives to improve women's equality in Iraq between 2017 and 2023 by launching programs designed to reduce gender-based violence and discrimination, in line with the Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP). This article employs a qualitative research methodology, utilizing concepts such as Gender Inequality, Feminist Foreign Policy, and the 3R framework (Women's Rights, Representation, Resources) to analyze the Canadian government's efforts toward achieving gender equality in Iraq. The findings indicate that FIAP has played a significant role in increasing Iraqi women's participation in public life and the success of initiatives targeting gender inequality. Canada's multifaceted approach has included establishing women's hotlines, providing legal consultation, and supporting women's economic empowerment. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of how feminist foreign policy can be effectively implemented to achieve gender equality in developing countries. The study demonstrates the potential of FIAP as an impactful solution for addressing persistent gender disparities in various international contexts.

Abstract

This research examines and describes the role of the National and Political Unity Agency (Bakesbangpol) in the selection process of Sidoarjo Regency Paskibraka candidates. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research, in this study using three indicators of regulation, concepts, and individual behaviour from Soekanto's theory. The findings show that the role of the National Unity and Political Agency in the regulation to carry out the selection of Paskibraka candidates is considered quite good. The efforts of the National and Political Unity Agency and active participation with various parties have been the key to success in growing a generation of youth who are not only physically capable but also embody the values of the nation. The implementation of this selection process is supported by a computerized system that embodies good governance. Although several technical obstacles have been overcome, this needs to be a concern to continue to improve the quality of selection implementation in the future.

Abstract

The 2024 Baubau City Regional Election was marked by controversy surrounding the replacement of the vice mayoral candidate by the Baubau City Election Commission (KPU). This replacement process sparked public debates, especially regarding the authenticity of the documents used for replacing the candidate, including a false certificate related to the candidate's alleged mental health condition. This study aims to analyze the causes, processes, and impacts of this controversy on public trust in the KPU and the local election process. The study adopts a qualitative approach, collecting data through in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation. The findings reveal that the candidate replacement process, without adequate verification, has the potential to undermine the integrity of the election. The impact includes a decline in public trust in the local democratic process. This study recommends the need for stricter procedures and transparency in every stage of the election, particularly in controversial candidate replacements.

government income, particularly in Southeast Sulawesi Province. This study aims to analyze the impact of public service quality at the One-Stop Administration System Office (SAMSAT) in Kendari City on the compliance level of motor vehicle taxpayers. Data revealed that in 2023, the taxpayer compliance rate in Kendari City dropped to 68.50%, with 45,556 taxpayers out of 144,634 failing to fulfil their obligations. The findings indicate that the quality of public services, including accessibility, speed of service, clarity of information, and courteous attitudes of officers, significantly influence taxpayer satisfaction and compliance. From 2021 to 2023, the realization of regional tax revenues consistently exceeded the targets, with an average achievement rate of 147.33%. However, challenges remain in maintaining consistent taxpayer compliance. Factors influencing compliance include taxpayers' understanding of their tax obligations, the quality of services provided by tax authorities, and public awareness of the importance of tax contributions to regional development. This study concludes that improving public service quality at the SAMSAT Office in Kendari City is a crucial strategy for enhancing taxpayer compliance and optimizing local revenue.

Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the implementation of Village Fund Cash Assistance (BLT-DD) in Sumorame Village, Candi Sub-district. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, with data gathered from interviews, observations, and literature reviews. The research focuses on how BLT-DD is implemented in Sumorame Village. The findings highlight several key aspects of the policy's execution. First, effective communication through socialization during the Special Village Deliberation (Musyawarah Desa Khusus) helped the residents clearly understand the eligibility criteria and distribution mechanism. Second, well-qualified human resources were involved, with staff knowledgeable about the procedures and working together to ensure the aid was distributed properly. The budgeting process, which started with the village deliberation and was authorized through the Village Budget (APBDes), followed government guidelines, with a maximum of 25% of the Village Fund allocated for BLT DD. Third, there was a strong commitment from implementers, as they collaborated with various parties to ensure timely distribution. Lastly, a well-organized bureaucratic structure with clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supported the smooth implementation of the policy. Although there were some challenges in managing recipient data, overall, the implementation of BLT-DD in Sumorame Village was successful in utilizing resources effectively and achieving the goal of assisting the community.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Strategy of the Investment Service and One-Stop Integrated Service in Increasing Investment in Kendari City. The research was conducted using qualitative descriptive research. The informants in this study are as follows: Secretary of the One-Stop Integrated Investment Service Office, Head of the One-Stop Integrated Investment Service Division, Head of the One-Stop Integrated Investment Service Determination Division, Young Expert Policy Analysis/Head of Investment Climate Development Section\IMB Technical Team, Investment Data Processor. Thus, the total number of informants is 5 people. The results of the study show that the strategy implemented by the Kendari City DPMPTSP in increasing investment has included comprehensive efforts through simplifying licensing, promoting regional potential, and improving one-stop services. Good strategic planning and supporting regulations, such as the Investment Law and the Job Creation Law, have become important foundations for creating investment certainty. Partnerships with various parties and developing human resource capacity have also strengthened the quality of DPMPTSP services. Although it has not fully achieved the investment target, the realized investment contribution significantly impacts the local economy, including job creation, increasing purchasing power, developing MSMEs, and infrastructure development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the potential for developing waterfall tourism in Soropia Village, Soropia District, Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. Soropia Village is known for its abundant natural potential, which has not yet been fully utilized, one of which is waterfall tourism. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies. The results show that the waterfalls in Soropia Village have great potential to be developed into a leading tourist destination that could boost the local economy and improve the welfare of the community. The natural beauty, which remains pristine and far from the crowds, makes it a unique attraction for both domestic and international tourists. If well-managed, this potential could not only enhance the tourism sector but also provide socio-economic benefits for the local community. Considering the ecosystem potential and the aesthetic value it holds, the waterfalls in Soropia Village could become an attractive natural tourism option, in line with the village's mission to utilize its natural resources to improve the community's economy. This study also recommends management strategies that involve local communities and consider environmental sustainability, ensuring that waterfall tourism development can provide long-term benefits.

Abstract

In the 2024 simultaneous elections, the implementation of Sirekap caused various polemics. At least 11,233 polling stations were recorded as unable to access the Sirekap application. The purpose of this writing is to Analyze the Factors that Influence the Implementation of Sirekap Performance in Supporting Integrity-Based PILKADA in Kendal Regency. While the type of research is qualitative research. The technique that will be used in determining informants is purposive sampling through key persons. The data collection techniques used by the researcher are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it show that the implementation of the Sirekap application in Kendal Regency by the Kendal Regency KPU and the Adhoc body has been going quite well. although in terms of communication it is not so good because there is no delivery of information to the public regarding Sirekap because it is a personal tool of the KPU. while from other factors it is quite good. The implementation of the Sirekap Application in the 2024 Simultaneous Election Vote Recapitulation in Kendal Regency as a whole has gone as well as it should. However, it is not yet optimal because in its implementation there are still technical obstacles that slightly hinder the Sirekap operator. for this reason, there needs to be a clear policy regarding the Sirekap target so that its delivery can be comprehensive to the Community.

Abstract

Political elections are influenced by various factors, including social, economic, cultural, and individual preferences that shape voter behaviour. Key elements such as party affiliation, candidate characteristics, policy positions, and socioeconomic status significantly contribute to election outcomes. This study aims to identify the key factors influencing political decisions among Generation Z voters, particularly those supporting Cerint Iraloza in the 2024 Legislative Election in West Sumatra. Using in-depth interviews with 30 Generation Z respondents, the research explores driving factors such as social media marketing, candidate image, political branding, and information-seeking behaviour. The findings reveal that social media influence and trust in the candidate are the primary factors guiding voter decisions. Social media serves as the main platform for Generation Z to access political information, engage in discussions, and form opinions about candidates. This study highlights the role of social media in shaping the candidate’s image and how trust and online engagement are key determinants of political decisions among young voters.
