Abstract

This study aims to analyse the adoption process, identify adopter categories, and examine the factors influencing smallholder oil palm farmers’ decisions to adopt Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification in Penilikan Village. RSPO certification plays an important role in promoting sustainability in the oil palm sector, however participation remains limited. This study eused a survey method involving 70 respondents, consisting of 35 RSPO-certified farmers and 35 non-certified farmers selected through stratified sampling. Descriptive analysis was used to assess the adoption process and adopter categories, binary logistic regression was applied to analyse the determinants of adoption decisions. The results revealed that most farmers were at the confirmation stage of adoption (41.43%), indicating a process of re-evaluating adoption decisions. 40% of respondents were classified as late majority adopters, reflecting cautious and slow adoption behaviour. All independent variables significantly influenced adoption decisions, while partially only access to information showed a significant effect. Farmers with better access to information were 5.107 times more likely to adopt RSPO certification. The study concludes that access to information is the key determinant of RSPO certification adoption among smallholder oil palm farmers. Therefore, strengthening farmer participation in training and extension activities related to RSPO certification is recommended. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of differences between Millennials and Generation Z on the productivity of oil palm harvesters at PTPN IV Kebun Mayang Afdeling III, North Sumatra. The study used an associative quantitative approach with a sample of harvesters categorized by generation. Primary data were obtained through questionnaires and interviews, while secondary data came from the company and related literature. Data analysis used an independent sample t-test after going through the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Levene's homogeneity test. The results showed that Generation Z had a higher average productivity than Millennials, namely 1,108.31 kg/day compared to 1,064.72 kg/day. However, the t-test results showed no significant difference between the two generations (sig. 0.410 > 0.05). This indicates that generational factors are not the main determinant of work productivity. Productivity is more influenced by work experience, skills, motivation, physical condition, and the company's work system. In conclusion, both Millennials and Generation Z contribute relatively equally to oil palm harvesting activities, so workforce management needs to focus on improving factors that support productivity. The implications of this research provide recommendations for companies to improve the effectiveness of cross-generational human resource management through training, work motivation, and sustainable work system improvements in the oil palm plantation sector.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of socio-economic factors, innovation attributes, and farmer participation on the adoption of the jajar legowo planting system in Patebon District, Kendal Regency, where the technology has not been fully adopted by rice farmers despite its potential to improve rice productivity. A quantitative descriptive approach with binary logistic regression analysis was employed. Data were collected through interviews and Likert-scale questionnaires administered to 62 rice farmers, consisting of 28 adopters and 34 non-adopters of the jajar legowo planting system. The descriptive analysis showed that social factors, economic factors, innovation attributes, and farmer participation were generally in the good category. Logistic regression analysis revealed that economic factors and innovation attributes significantly influenced the adoption of the jajar legowo planting system, whereas social factors and farmer participation had no significant effect. These findings indicate that farmers are more likely to adopt the system when they perceive clear economic benefits and practical advantages from the innovation. Therefore, strengthening farmers’ understanding of innovation benefits and improving economic incentives are important strategies for increasing the adoption of the jajar legowo planting system and supporting sustainable rice production. Abstract

Tofu agroindustry is one of the food-processing businesses that faces uncertainty in soybean raw material prices and sales fluctuations, which may affect business profitability. This study aims to analyze the application of Cost-Volume-Profit (CVP) analysis as a basis for profit planning at ALD Tofu Agroindustry in Sidoarjo. The research was conducted in April 2026 using a descriptive quantitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and literature review. CVP analysis was carried out by calculating the Contribution Margin (CM), Break-Even Point (BEP), Margin of Safety (MoS), Operating Leverage, and profit planning. The results indicate that the cost structure of ALD Tofu Agroindustry is dominated by variable costs, accounting for 92.8% of total production costs. The CVP analysis generated a contribution margin ratio of 21.03%, a break-even point of 5,714 molds, and a relatively high margin of safety. To achieve a target profit of 25% of sales, the company needs to increase its sales volume to 29,084 molds. These findings demonstrate that CVP analysis can serve as a basis for decision-making in profit planning and the sustainability of ALD Tofu Agroindustry in Sidoarjo. Keywords: Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis, Profit Planning, Tofu Agroindustry, Business Sustainability.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has encouraged oil palm plantation companies to adopt digital farming systems to improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and transparency in production management. This study aimed to analyze the cost of using digital agriculture applications in the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) input process at PT PalmCo Kebun Adolina Afdeling II, North Sumatra. A quantitative descriptive method was employed using observation, interviews, and operational data records. The cost components analyzed included depreciation costs, maintenance costs, internet data package costs, and labor costs. The results showed that the total cost of implementing the digital agriculture application was IDR 30,263,363.86 for a total FFB production of 1,541,600 kg, resulting in a cost of IDR 19.63 per kilogram of FFB. Labor costs represented the largest proportion of total expenses, while depreciation, maintenance, and data package costs contributed relatively small amounts. The application improved the speed, accuracy, and transparency of FFB production recording and reporting processes. These findings indicate that digital agriculture applications can support efficient plantation operations and provide reliable real-time production data for managerial decision-making, thereby supporting digital transformation in the oil palm plantation industry. Abstract

Cassava is a strategic commodity for Indonesia, yet it faces challenges from a 42% reduction in harvested area and the removal of fertilizer subsidies, increasing tapioca imports. This study analyzes the export competitiveness of Indonesian cassava across three downstreaming levels: primary (HS 071410), intermediate (HS 110814), and high value-added processed products (HS 190300). Using a descriptive quantitative method, this research integrates Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) and Export Product Dynamics (EPD) analyses using 2020–2024 time, series data from ITC Trade Map and FAOSTAT. Results show Indonesia has a strong comparative advantage in processed products (HS 190300) in Japan (RCA 11.53) and starch (HS 110814) in Sri Lanka (RCA 10.74). However, EPD analysis warns that raw products (HS 071410) are trapped in the Retreat quadrant, while processed products progressively act as a Rising Star. This study concludes that downstreaming is vital to maintaining national export competitiveness. The government must immediately intervene by providing fiscal incentives to the processing industry and ensuring upstream input availability for farmers. This strategy will overcome lost opportunities and strengthen Indonesia's position in the global market. Keywords: Cassava, EPD, Export Competitiveness, RCA

Abstract

Price index is an important tool for measuring price changes at both the producer and consumer levels through the Producer Price Index (PPI) and the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The relationship between these two indices remains a controversial issue, particularly in Indonesia’s agricultural sector, which is characterized by complex market structures, including small-scale enterprises, dependence on natural factors, and lengthy distribution chains. This study aims to analyze the short-term and long-term relationships between the PPI and CPI in Indonesia’s agricultural sector over the period 2013–2023. Secondary data were obtained from Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency (Badan Pusat Statistik) and analyzed using the Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) stationarity test, Johansen cointegration test, and Vector Autoregression (VAR) estimation. The results indicate that there is no cointegration between the PPI and CPI, implying the absence of a long-term relationship. The VAR(1) estimation further shows that the PPI and CPI do not influence each other in the short run, except for the PPI’s influence on itself. These findings highlight the presence of asymmetric price transmission, where changes in producer prices are not always passed on to consumers. Abstract

Agriculture is a key sector that contributes significantly to the economy of North Aceh and the Province of Aceh as a whole. As one of the agricultural centers in the region, North Aceh has great potential to increase agricultural production and improve farmers' welfare. In this context, agricultural extension workers play a strategic role as a bridge between the latest agricultural technologies and field-level farming practices. This study aims to analyze the influence of age, formal education, work experience, distance to the working area, and the number of assisted villages on the performance of agricultural extension workers. The research location was determined purposively. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis, which was applied to examine the influence of several independent variables on the dependent variable. The study was conducted from June 2025 to November 2025. The results show that the performance of agricultural extension workers at the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) of Dewantara, North Aceh District, is categorized as high. Internal and external factors simultaneously have a significant effect on the performance of agricultural extension workers. However, only formal education and age have a significant effect, while work experience, distance to the working area, and the number of assisted villages do not have a significant partial effect on the performance of agricultural extension workers at the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) Dewantara, North Aceh District. Keywords: Performance of Agricultural Extension Workers and Extension Workers.
