Abstract

Ground vibrations are waves that occur in the ground caused by an energy source. Ground vibrations due to blasting activity can affect buildings around the blasting area, including residential areas. Large peak particle velocity (PPV) can cause damage to people's homes. Data collection was carried out by dividing the data population into two, the direction of rock throwing based on the initiation point away from the measurement point and the direction of rock throwing based on the initiation point approaching the measurement point. During the research, values were obtained PPV maximum is 3.03 mm/s with the initiation point close to the measurement point and there is a free face and walls at the blasting location, the PPV minimum of 0.4 mm/s with the initiation point away from the measurement point and there is a free face at the blasting location. Based on the results of calculating the predicted PPV value, an error percentage of 15.74% was obtained with the actual PPV value at the research location. From the results of the analysis and calculations, it was found that the direction of the rock throw with the initiation point closer to the measurement point had a greater value.

Abstract

The utilization of New and Renewable Energy is being accelerated by the Indonesian Government. And one of the renewable energy resources that can be explored is solar energy. The potential for solar energy in Indonesia is very large, which is around 4.8 kWh/m2 or equivalent to 112,000 GWp, but only around 10 MWp has been utilized. The percentage of the value of Solar Power Plants that have been built in Indonesia is also only around 0.05% of the total power plants under the operation of PT. PLN (Persero). The ITNY campus has several tall buildings that have elongated roof contours and without shadow barriers from other buildings. Therefore, in this study, a Solar Power Plant plan will be made that will be installed on the roof of one of the buildings on the ITNY campus and operate On-Grid with electricity from PLN. The roof of the building used is Building A with an effective roof area that can be installed with a PLTS installation of 644 m2 divided into two sides, namely north and south. This On-Grid PLTS system will serve the electrical load of Building A of around 105,000 kW with loads in the form of lighting, power outlets and AC power. The result of this planning is a Roof-Top PLTS On-Grid system design that serves the electrical load for Building A. So it is hoped that with this PLTS system it is expected to reduce the monthly electricity bill of the ITNY Campus.

Abstract

In mining activities, high risk is one of the main aspects that must be anticipated, especially regarding the geomechanical complexity of the rocks being excavated. Selecting the right excavation method can greatly impact operational efficiency and safety. In this context, direct digging, ripping, and blasting are the three main options, tailored to the characteristics of the rock.To determine the most suitable method, a rock rippability study is essential. This study can be conducted using direct or indirect methods. In this research, the seismic method was used to assess rock strength based on the seismic wave velocity, which was recorded at 1437.80 m/s. This value serves as a reference for selecting appropriate equipment for ripping activities.Given these characteristics, the recommended equipment for ripping is the D8T/D8R dozer from Caterpillar or the D275A/D275AX dozer from Komatsu. This equipment choice is based on its capability to handle rocks with strength levels reflected by the measured seismic wave velocity.

Abstract

The addition of aluminum (Al) to the alloy system can improve corrosion and oxidation resistance but has the disadvantage of having brittle properties, the austemper process can increase strength, toughness, reduce distortion and reduce brittle properties. The stages of the austemper process start from heating at 900oC for 1 hour, then continued immersion in molten salt (KNO3 55% + NaNO3 45%) at temperatures of 300oC, 350oC, and 400oC, for 20 minutes and continued immersion in water media. The tests carried out were microstructure tests using an optical microscope, hardness tests using the Brinnel method, and tensile strength tests. The chemical composition test results show that the Fe-Al-C alloy contains the main element Fe by 89.40%, and the main alloying element Al by 0.98%, C 5.41%, Si 1.69%, including Al alloy cast iron, Fe-Al-C alloy has a hardness of 188.2 Kg/mm2. After austemper process hardness rose to 325.4 Kg/mm2 at 300 ° C, this is due to the change of pearlite structure into bainite structure. The tensile test results show that the Fe-Al-C alloy has a tensile stress of 188.2 Mpa and a strain value of 1.1% and then drops at austemper temperature of 300 ° C with a tensile stress value of 44 Mpa and a strain of 0.4%, this is due to the large graphite structure and fractures and the presence of bainite structures.

Abstract

Most of the Gunungkidul district area is dry, barren rain-fed land with an area of 42,000 ha and a fairly high average rainfall of 1889.66 mm/year. So far, this rainfall can only be utilized during the rainy season, while during the dry season there is still a shortage of water because the excess rainwater flows directly on the surface and the rest is absorbed into the soil. The purpose of this study is to convert dry land into land for date palm plantations and their intercrops by maximizing the use of rainwater so that it is expected to maximize the socio-economic welfare of the surrounding community. With the Rain Driphonics System (RDS) method, the rainwater that falls is collected in reservoirs to then be channeled into the main reservoir pool, which is then pumped into the main reservoir pool and after adding liquid fertilizer from the water mixing tank, it is then channeled by gravity to the plantation land through the drip irrigation system. The analysis was carried out by calculating the amount of rainwater and then implementing it in the plantation demonstration plot. Based on the results of rainfall calculations, the highest mainstay discharge was obtained in January-II of 56.88 lt/sec, while the average water requirement for 40 main plants/date palms and intercrops was 0.08 lt/sec and by using a storage volume of 102 m3 and water savings, it can meet the needs for 1 year. So it can be concluded that by using RDS, it is proven that rainwater that falls in the rainy season can also be utilized in the dry season or in other words, rainwater that falls in the rainy season can be utilized throughout the year.
