Abstract

Used cooking oil, which is often thrown away after use, can have a negative impact on the environment if not managed properly. Through a community service program implemented in Sidomoyo Village, Godean, Sleman, efforts were made to convert used cooking oil into biodiesel as an environmentally friendly alternative fuel for household stoves. This program aims to empower the community by providing knowledge and skills in processing used cooking oil, so that this waste can be reused productively and reduce environmental pollution. The process of converting used cooking oil into biodiesel involves a simple method that can be implemented by village communities at an affordable cost. The use of biodiesel in household stoves is expected to be an alternative energy solution that is economical and environmentally friendly, as well as supporting efforts to reduce domestic waste. The results of this activity show the enthusiasm of the community in adopting this technology, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of managing used cooking oil waste. It is hoped that this program can become a model of curiosity that is implemented in other villages.

Abstract

Decrease in oil production that occurs due to the presence of solids in production equipment caused by ion imbalances in formation water.due to ion imbalance in formation water. Scale formation can be influenced by several factors including the property characteristics property characteristics of the produced fluid, especially in heavy oil types, due to changes in temperature, pressure, pH, and mineral composition of formation water that exceeds the solubility limit. solubility triggers the formation of scale solids. In oil wells will usually formation water containing ions of calcium, barium, carbonate, sulphate, magnesium, sodium and chloride. In this study, the manufacture of synthetic brine with a composition that resembles field formation water as an alternative in laboratory scale scale index measurement testing solutions and and save time so as to speed up testing. Manufacture of synthetic brine this synthetic brine can utilise materials from the laboratory such as calcium, barium, carbonate, sulphate, magnesium, sodium and chloride dissolved in distilled water. Then experiments were carried out to change the mass of one or in the formation water formula on several mineral ions as a key in making synthetic brine.key in making synthetic brine that resembles the conditions in the field. Brine testing using the compleximetric method of formation water analysis chemically and physically like testing formation water from the field.

Abstract

Ground vibrations are waves that occur in the ground caused by an energy source. Ground vibrations due to blasting activity can affect buildings around the blasting area, including residential areas. Large peak particle velocity (PPV) can cause damage to people's homes. Data collection was carried out by dividing the data population into two, the direction of rock throwing based on the initiation point away from the measurement point and the direction of rock throwing based on the initiation point approaching the measurement point. During the research, values were obtained PPV maximum is 3.03 mm/s with the initiation point close to the measurement point and there is a free face and walls at the blasting location, the PPV minimum of 0.4 mm/s with the initiation point away from the measurement point and there is a free face at the blasting location. Based on the results of calculating the predicted PPV value, an error percentage of 15.74% was obtained with the actual PPV value at the research location. From the results of the analysis and calculations, it was found that the direction of the rock throw with the initiation point closer to the measurement point had a greater value.

Abstract

The utilization of New and Renewable Energy is being accelerated by the Indonesian Government. And one of the renewable energy resources that can be explored is solar energy. The potential for solar energy in Indonesia is very large, which is around 4.8 kWh/m2 or equivalent to 112,000 GWp, but only around 10 MWp has been utilized. The percentage of the value of Solar Power Plants that have been built in Indonesia is also only around 0.05% of the total power plants under the operation of PT. PLN (Persero). The ITNY campus has several tall buildings that have elongated roof contours and without shadow barriers from other buildings. Therefore, in this study, a Solar Power Plant plan will be made that will be installed on the roof of one of the buildings on the ITNY campus and operate On-Grid with electricity from PLN. The roof of the building used is Building A with an effective roof area that can be installed with a PLTS installation of 644 m2 divided into two sides, namely north and south. This On-Grid PLTS system will serve the electrical load of Building A of around 105,000 kW with loads in the form of lighting, power outlets and AC power. The result of this planning is a Roof-Top PLTS On-Grid system design that serves the electrical load for Building A. So it is hoped that with this PLTS system it is expected to reduce the monthly electricity bill of the ITNY Campus.

Abstract

In mining activities, high risk is one of the main aspects that must be anticipated, especially regarding the geomechanical complexity of the rocks being excavated. Selecting the right excavation method can greatly impact operational efficiency and safety. In this context, direct digging, ripping, and blasting are the three main options, tailored to the characteristics of the rock.To determine the most suitable method, a rock rippability study is essential. This study can be conducted using direct or indirect methods. In this research, the seismic method was used to assess rock strength based on the seismic wave velocity, which was recorded at 1437.80 m/s. This value serves as a reference for selecting appropriate equipment for ripping activities.Given these characteristics, the recommended equipment for ripping is the D8T/D8R dozer from Caterpillar or the D275A/D275AX dozer from Komatsu. This equipment choice is based on its capability to handle rocks with strength levels reflected by the measured seismic wave velocity.
