Journal of Mathematic Learning Innovation (JMLI) adalah jurnal internasional akses terbuka peer-refereed yang telah didirikan untuk penyebaran pengetahuan mutakhir di bidang pendidikan matematika. Jurnal ini didirikan atas kerjasama antara pengembangan pendidikan matematika dan matematika. Mulai tahun 2022 akan terbit dua kali dalam setahun ( Maret dan September ). Semua manuskrip yang dikirimkan pada awalnya akan ditinjau oleh editor dan kemudian dievaluasi oleh minimal dua reviewer melalui proses tinjauan double-blind. Abstract

This research departs from the framework that culture is a tool that can be used as a basic ingredient in learning activities, this activity is known as ethnomathematics. The concept of geometry includes the subject matter of the scientific field of mathematics which is closest to real-world problems. Therefore, this study aims to examine language expressions that contain the concept of geometry, as language is one of the elements in a culture. This research uses a type of qualitative research with an ethnographic approach as it means that this research focuses on research on the behavior and culture of a group, in this case based on observation, interviews conducted with community leaders who understand the Pattinjo language well to help translate terms that contain concept geometry, and documentation. The research results obtained indicate that there are a number of mathematical languages ​​used by the Pattinjo people in their daily activities that contain the concept of geometry. Mathematical language includes the mention of the names of objects that have elements of plane shapes and spatial shapes, expressions of terms in the mention of area, height, volume, and numbers. It is hoped that the data obtained as a result of the research can open the public's view, especially to students, that cultural elements, namely local languages, can be used as a context that can be used as a starting point in learning mathematics.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics serves as a bridge between abstract mathematics and culturally relevant contexts for students, enabling them to observe the application of mathematical concepts in everyday life, traditions, and local knowledge. This study aims to identify the geometric concepts found in the Bugis traditional house Saoraja Sawitto, understand the philosophical meanings embedded in its architectural forms, and design a geometry learning pathway. The research employs a qualitative ethnographic approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using domain and taxonomy analysis methods. The findings reveal the presence of geometric concepts in the Bugis Saoraja Sawitto house, encompassing plane geometry (triangles, squares, rectangles, circles, trapezoids, and rhombuses) as well as solid geometry (pyramids, cubes, rectangular prisms, cylinders, and prisms). Several architectural elements possess profound philosophical meanings, such as the Indisch architectural style reflecting the status and power of Dutch colonialism, the colors yellow and green representing the nobility, and the triangular and rectangular carvings symbolizing power, glory, and the number of Ajatappareng. These findings can serve as a contextual learning resource in mathematics education within formal settings by creating a relevant learning pathway and implementing it in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbasis budaya Suku Osing terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada kelas VII A dan VII C salah satu MTS di Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis eksperimen dan rancangan post-test only kontrol group design. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes, yang dilakukan setelah pembelajaran (post test). Post-test untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh, dilakukan uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan t. Berdasarkan analisis data, diketahui bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan post-test siswa kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Rerata skor kelas eksperimen sebesar 73,461 lebih besar daripada rerata kelas kontrol sebesar 68,490. Artinya bahwa CTL berbasis budaya Suku Osing berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Mathematics education in Indonesia faces significant challenges, as reflected in the low performance of students in various international assessments. Traditional teaching methods, which are less interactive, are considered one of the key factors contributing to students' low problem-solving abilities in mathematics. This meta-analysis aims to evaluate the impact of Polya's heuristic model on students' mathematical learning outcomes and determine the extent to which this strategy can enhance students' learning abilities compared to conventional teaching methods. The study employs a meta-analytic approach, integrating data from 15 primary studies conducted between 2014 and 2023, and uses statistical analysis to calculate the average effect size of the implementation of Polya's heuristic model in mathematics education. The findings reveal a significant improvement in students' mathematical learning outcomes using Polya's heuristic model, with an average effect size of 1.13, categorized as "very high." The study suggests that the application of Polya's heuristic model is significantly more effective in enhancing students' mathematical learning outcomes than conventional teaching methods. The practical implication is that educators and policymakers in Indonesia could consider adopting this strategy in curricula and teacher training programs to improve the quality of mathematics education.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis microsite menggunakan platform linktree pada materi limit fungsi. Penelitian kuantitatif berjenis pre-eksperimen dengan desain pretest-posttest kelompok kontrol yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 20 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Pengumpulan data menggunakan dengan instrumen tes guna untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Kemudian data diolah dianalisis menggunakan uji paired sample t-test untuk menilai pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis microsite menggunakan platform linktree. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan siginifikan hasil belajar siswa pada materi limit fungsi menggunakan media pembelajaran berbasis microsite menggunakan platform linktree. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis microsite menggunakan platform linktree efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the process and find out the results of the development of Canva-assisted mathematics learning media for class VIII opportunity material at SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang and to find out whether the media can help students understand opportunity material. This type of research is research and development using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model developed by Robert Maribe Branch. This product trial was carried out on 28 students in class VIII B at SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang. The ADDIE model in Analysis, researchers analyzed the curriculum, materials, needs and characteristics of students. Then in Design, the template design and animation are carried out. Meanwhile, in Development, media creation, media revision and media assessment are carried out. These results show that the level of validity based on expert validation is at the "very valid" criterion. In the practicality response the criteria were "very practical" and the level of implementation of media use was in the "very good" category. Meanwhile, the level of media effectiveness based on test scores on student learning outcomes is categorized as "medium", the level of student activity is in the "very good" category and student responses are in the "very positive" category. Based on the results of the data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that mathematics learning media Canva's assistance in opportunity material for class VIII SMP Negeri 4 Enrekang was declared quality and met the criteria of being valid, practical and effective

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji penerapan model pembelajaran Teams Games Tournament (TGT) dalam mata pelajaran Matematika, khususnya pada materi Barisan dan Deret di salah satu Madrasah Aliyah Negeri di kota Barru. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dampak penerapan model TGT terhadap pemahaman konsep dan motivasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X yang melakukan pembelajaran dengan model TGT. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes hasil belajar dan angket motivasi siswa, yang dianalisis dengan membandingkan kondisi sebelum dan setelah implementasi model pembelajaran TGT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model TGT memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa dalam materi Barisan dan Deret. Selain itu, model ini juga mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, yang terlihat dari meningkatnya partisipasi aktif dalam diskusi dan turnamen akademik. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran TGT dapat menjadi alternatif yang inovatif dan efektif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika, khususnya dalam memahami konsep abstrak seperti Barisan dan Deret

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Efektivitas Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Etnomatematika Batik Kudus dalam Meningkatkan Motivasi Belajar Siswa pada salah satu Sekolah Dasar di kota Kudus. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, instrumen angket motivasi belajar, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan adalah analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran matematika yang mengintegrasikan elemen budaya lokal, seperti batik Kudus, memiliki dampak positif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa. Peningkatan motivasi ini terlihat dari skor siswa pada siklus II yang menunjukkan kenaikan signifikan dibandingkan dengan siklus I, yang ditandai dengan beralihnya banyak siswa ke kategori motivasi belajar yang tinggi. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika tidak hanya memperkaya materi ajar dengan konteks budaya yang relevan, tetapi juga menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih menarik dan interaktif bagi siswa. Oleh karena itu, metode ini diharapkan dapat diterapkan lebih luas di sekolah-sekolah lain, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keterlibatan dan semangat belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of interactive multimedia-based mathematics teaching materials as practical and effective learning media. The background of this study is the monotonous and one-way learning method without technology-based teaching materials in the school. The study used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The subjects of the study were students of class X MIPA 3 at one of the high schools in Cirebon Regency. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, tests, and documentation, with qualitative descriptive analysis for observation and quantitative analysis for validation of teaching materials. The results showed that interactive multimedia teaching materials had a feasibility level of 86.72% (very feasible) based on expert validation, and a practicality level of 96.70% (very practical) based on teacher and student assessments. In addition, this study showed an increase in student learning achievement after using the teaching materials. The implication of this study is that interactive multimedia-based teaching materials can be applied in mathematics learning to improve understanding of abstract concepts, such as functions. Educators and developers of learning materials are advised to consider integrating similar learning materials into learning and improving training for teachers in the application of learning technologies.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika yang inovatif diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Salah satu pendekatan yang potensial adalah outdoor learning melalui penggunaan Math City Map, yang menyajikan konteks nyata dan menarik dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas Math City Map dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa di salah satu SMP Negeri di Patampanua melalui pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes dan observasi, dengan teknik purposive sampling yang difokuskan pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa, dari rata-rata 47,3% pada siklus I menjadi 88% pada siklus II, dengan rata-rata keseluruhan sebesar 67,6%. Peningkatan hasil belajar juga terlihat dari 43% pada siklus I menjadi 98% pada siklus II, melampaui target ketuntasan minimal 60%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Math City Map dalam konteks pembelajaran luar ruang merupakan metode yang efektif dalam mendukung pengembangan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa. Implikasi dari temuan ini adalah perlunya integrasi media pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan nyata seperti Math City Map dalam kurikulum sebagai upaya konkret untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan hasil belajar siswa secara berkelanjutan
