Abstract

This paper is to examine the appropriateness of implementing halal tourism in the Dama Batang Park tourist attraction in accordance with the standardized criteria outlined in DSN MUI fatwa No. 16 of 2016. This research methodology employs qualitative techniques, utilizing field research and exploratory analysis for data processing. The study utilizes both primary and secondary data sources. Primary data sources are derived directly from observational interviews with management of the Dama Batang Park tourist attraction, while secondary sources are extracted from DSN-MUI Fatwa No. 16 of 2016, books, and publications published in the Open Journal System (OJS) concerning halal tourism. The data analysis technique applied involves a series of steps, including classification, exposing data, verifying the data obtained through the analysis of standardization values with the results of field findings, and producing conclusions from the data that has been collected and presented. The results of these findings explain that several standardization values have been written in the fatwa so that it becomes a reference in assessing whether the tourist attraction is halal or not. Then after being analyzed, in general, the Dama Batang Park tourist attraction has met the criteria as a halal tourist attraction, but several shortcomings can be resolved immediately such as the community selling merchandise that does not have a halal certificate and the use of e-money in transactions, the community still uses conventional financial institutions.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the assumptions underlying the concept of Homo Islamicus in the context of modern society's shifting preferences, where the concept of Homo Economicus, which tends to disregard morality and focuses on self-interest in maximizing utility, falls short in explaining these phenomena. By examining Homo Islamicus in the modern context, this study seeks to identify assumptions more relevant to current economic conditions. The research adopts a library research method and utilizes content analysis as the data processing technique. The findings reveal that the concept of Homo Islamicus integrates moral and rational elements in a balanced proportion, oriented towards general welfare aligned with individuals' basic needs, guided by religious moral principles. Rational decisions made by Homo Islamicus reflect moral values based on fundamental principles such as Tawhid (Unity of God), Balance, Free Will, Responsibility, and Justice, enabling decision-making that considers these values. Thus, morality serves as the foundation of rationality in making choices within the context of modern Islamic economics.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of halal certification in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) food products in Pekalongan District, East Lampung Regency, from the perspective of Maqosid Sharia. Halal certification is an important effort to ensure the halalness of products consumed by the Muslim community. This aligns with the government's policy to strengthen the guarantee of halal products in Indonesia. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview and documentation methods from 11 MSME actors. The study results show that several MSMEs in Pekalongan have obtained halal certification. Still, many have not met the requirements due to a lack of knowledge, administrative costs, and the complexity of the bureaucratic process. From the perspective of Maqosid Syariah, halal certification provides benefits in protecting the religion, soul, and property of consumers, as well as increasing the competitiveness of products in the market. It is hoped that there will be wider socialization and simplification of the administrative process to support MSME actors in obtaining halal certification.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to map the research landscape of Islamic bank by examining its intellectual structure, thematic evolution, and global distribution. The research addresses the growing academic interest in Shariah-compliant finance and identifies key areas of theoretical contribution and practical relevance. Using a hybrid methodology that combines a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis, this study analyzed 1,132 articles retrieved from the Scopus database up to June 12, 2025. The PRISMA framework guided the article selection, and VOSviewer was employed to visualize citation patterns, author networks, and keyword co-occurrences. This research presents a novel synthesis of 20 years of Islamic banking literature by categorizing research trends, highlighting top contributing authors, institutions, and countries, and exposing underexplored areas such as fintech integration, customer behavior, and regional regulatory practices. The findings show a significant growth in Islamic banking publications, particularly in Indonesia and Malaysia. Key themes include corporate governance, financial performance, and institutional comparisons with conventional banks. The most frequent keywords were “Islamic Banks” (330), “Islamic Banking” (185), and “Corporate Governance” (63), confirming the field's conceptual maturity and revealing emerging research gaps. This study confirms that Islamic banking remains a vibrant and evolving field of research. It offers strategic insights for scholars and practitioners, establishing a foundation for future inquiry and policy innovation in global Islamic finance. These insights have both theoretical implications by identifying maturing and emerging themes and practical relevance in guiding future policymaking, regulatory design, and investment strategies in Islamic financial markets.

Abstract

The halal lifestyle is becoming an increasingly popular trend among young people, particularly Generation Z. Islamic institutions play a significant role in promoting this lifestyle through various innovative and relevant da'wah strategies, one of which involves utilizing the FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) approach. This study aims to analyze how da'wah innovations using the FOMO strategy are employed to foster interest among Gen Z in the halal lifestyle and to encourage their involvement in da'wah-based entrepreneurship. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach by conducting case studies on several digital da'wah programs and campaigns targeting youth, as well as library research to support theoretical and literature analysis. The findings reveal that the use of FOMO in digital da'wah through social media, halal community events, and visual narratives is effective in building awareness and participation among young audiences. Generation Z not only becomes consumers of the halal lifestyle but also begins to engage as active participants in da'wah entrepreneurship. These findings suggest that da'wah innovations that adapt to digital culture and the social psychology of youth can be effective strategies for instilling Islamic values in a creative and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Cash waqf is an Islamic social finance instrument that has great potential in supporting sustainable economic development, especially in the halal value chain ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the integration strategy of cash waqf in strengthening the competitiveness of halal products based on Islamic economic principles. Through a qualitative approach with literature study and conceptual analysis, this study finds that the integration of cash waqf can be a stable and inclusive alternative funding source for strategic sectors in the halal value chain, such as halal agriculture, food and beverage industry, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and Islamic logistics. Waqf money that is managed professionally and transparently can be used to support working capital financing, capacity building for halal MSMEs, and halal infrastructure development, thus encouraging efficiency, innovation, and standardization of halal products. In addition, this integration also strengthens aspects of social justice and wealth distribution through a sustainable empowerment model. This research recommends synergy between nazir institutions, halal industry, Islamic financial authorities, and the government in building a policy framework that allows cash waqf management to be integrated with the halal value chain.
