Abstract

This study investigates the role of corporate governance mechanisms in reducing financial distress among transportation and logistics companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Motivated by the sector’s high capital intensity, operational complexity, and vulnerability to economic shocks, the research analyzes how institutional ownership, independent board of commissioners, and audit committee structures influence firms’ financial stability. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, the study employs panel data from 18 publicly listed transportation and logistics firms over the 2021-2024 period, yielding 72 firm-year observations. Financial distress is measured using the Altman Z-Score for emerging markets, while governance variables are obtained from annual reports and corporate governance disclosures. Panel data regression with a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) is applied, preceded by classical assumption and model specification tests. The results show that institutional ownership, independent board of commissioners, and audit committee all have a significant negative effect on financial distress, indicating that stronger governance practices are associated with lower likelihood of financial failure. These findings provide theoretical support for Agency and Stewardship Theory, and offer practical implications for regulators, investors, and corporate boards in strengthening governance frameworks within high-risk, capital-intensive industries.

Abstract

Patient safety is a top priority in healthcare, yet healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) remain a persistent challenge. Duta Indah Hospital Jakarta experiences gaps between infection prevention standards and actual nursing practices, affecting its patient safety culture. To analyze nurses’ understanding and implementation of standard precautions and HAI prevention, examine their contribution to patient safety culture, and identify influencing factors. A qualitative case study was conducted through in-depth interviews with 17 informants, observations, and document review. Data were analyzed thematically. Standard precautions were acknowledged as the foundation of infection prevention but were not optimally applied, especially in preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Nurses supported patient safety culture through hand hygiene compliance, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), environmental hygiene, and HAI bundles. Barriers included unsupportive mindsets and work culture, limited PPE and hand hygiene facilities, and high workload. Standard precautions are vital in preventing HAIs and fostering a patient safety culture. Strengthening their implementation requires education, compliance monitoring, and managerial support. Adherence to national regulations Law No. 17/2023 on Health, Minister of Health Regulation No. 27/2017 on Infection Prevention and Control, and Minister of Health Regulation No. 11/2017 on Patient Safety is essential as a legal framework to reinforce patient safety culture in hospitals.

Abstract

Partnership cooperation contracts constitute one of the essential instruments within the Islamic economic system, aiming to realize justice, balance, and mutual welfare among the contracting parties. Partnership practices are widely found across various economic sectors, including trade, agriculture, services, and Islamic finance. This article seeks to examine the Islamic economic perspective on the practice of partnership cooperation contracts through a literature-based approach. The method employed is a literature review of classical and contemporary fiqh al-muʿāmalāt texts, scholarly journals, fatwas issued by authoritative institutions, and regulations related to Islamic economics. The findings indicate that Islamic economics provides a clear normative framework for partnership contracts, such as musyārakah, muḍārabah, muzāraʿah, and musāqah, which emphasize the principles of justice, transparency, honesty, and the proportional sharing of risks and profits. Nevertheless, contemporary practices continue to exhibit deviations from these principles, particularly in terms of unequal bargaining positions and imbalanced risk allocation. Therefore, strengthening the understanding of Islamic contractual principles and enhancing the supervision of their implementation are crucial to ensuring partnerships that are consistent with Islamic economic values

Abstract

The MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) and culinary events industry are strategic sectors that play an important role in the development of tourism and the creative economy in Indonesia, especially in Medan. In today's digital era, social media has a crucial role in influencing consumer behavior and public participation in various events, including culinary competitions. In addition, the availability of adequate facilities is also a determining factor in the comfort and decision of participants to participate in the event. This study aims to determine the influence of social media and facilities on the decision of participants to participate in the competition at the CLEO Culinary Festival Medan 2025. The research method used is quantitative with a survey approach, where data is collected through a questionnaire distributed to 100 competition participants. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression with the help of the SPSS version 25 program. The results showed that social media had a positive and significant effect on participants' decisions with a t????count value of 4.895 (p = 0.000). Facilities also had a positive and significant effect with a t????count of 4.590 (p = 0.000). Simultaneously, these two variables had a significant influence on participants' decisions with a value of F????count of 49.069 (p = 0.000) and an Adjusted R Square value of 0.493, which means that 49.3% of the variation in participants' decisions can be explained by social media and facilities. Social media and adequate facilities are key factors to increase participant participation and satisfaction in the CLEO Culinary Festival Medan 2025. Therefore, organizers are advised to continue to optimize social media strategies and improve the quality of facilities to support the success of the event.

Abstract

This study aims to test and analyze the influence of profitability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the value of companies in State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2018–2024. Profitability in this study was proxied by Return on Assets (ROA), while corporate social responsibility was measured using the Corporate Social Disclosure Index (CSDI). This study uses a quantitative approach with secondary data obtained from the company's financial statements and annual reports. The research sample consisted of 20 state-owned companies selected through purposive sampling techniques. The analysis method used was multiple linear regression with a significance level of 0.05 and data processing was carried out using the SPSS program. The results of the analysis showed that the value of the determination coefficient (R²) was 40.3%, which means that the variables of profitability and corporate social responsibility were able to explain the variation in company value by 40.3%, while the rest was explained by other variables outside the research model. The results of partial hypothesis testing showed that profitability had a significant effect on company value and corporate social responsibility also had a significant effect on company value. In addition, the results of simultaneous testing showed that profitability and corporate social responsibility together had a significant effect on the corporate value of state-owned companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, which was indicated by a significance level of less than 0.05.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of the shift in payment preferences from cash to Sharia-based mobile banking among Muslim consumers on Bawean Island. This study highlights the adaptation of financial technology in an archipelagic region with strong religious cultural characteristics and dependence on the migrant economy. The research method used a descriptive quantitative approach through a survey of 107 respondents residing in Sangkapura and Tambak subdistricts, with demographic variations ranging from students to entrepreneurs. The results reveal that technology adoption is dominated by younger age groups (Generation Z and Millennials). Utility factors such as transaction speed, bill payment efficiency, and ease of receiving remittances from migrant relatives are the main functional drivers. Substantially, religious aspects including halal guarantees, riba-free principles, and the integration of worship features proved to be distinguishing factors that built user trust and peace of mind. Although perceptions of application security were relatively high, infrastructure constraints in the form of unstable internet signals remained a significant technical obstacle in the region. Overall, it is concluded that sharia mobile banking in Bawean has transformed into a vital solution that bridges the needs of modern economic transactions with compliance with Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a managerial strategy to accelerate waiting time through the identification of the root of the problem using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method. The research used a qualitative design involving five groups of informants, namely patients, specialist doctors, nurse at output patient clinics, medical record officers and management. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and Likert scale assessments, then analyzed using the FMEA approach to determine the Severity, Occurrence, Detection, and Risk Priority Number (RPN) values in each failure mode. The results of the study showed four failure modes with the highest RPN scores, namely: Hospital Management Information System failure (RPN 47.75), registration administration process (RPN 43.40), repeated service failures (RPN 42.05), and delay in specialist doctor attendance (RPN 40.98). HMIS is the most critical factor because it has the highest frequency of disruptions and has a direct impact on the entire service flow. Other dominant obstacles are delays in medical record files, insynchronization of administrative processes, and obstacles in pharmaceuticals. Based on these findings, the proposed managerial strategies include short-term improvements (optimization of human resources and SOPs), medium-term (digitalization through EMR and e-prescribing), and long-term (strengthening of Hospital Management Information System infrastructure and implementation of CQI). This research confirms that accelerating waiting times requires an integrated managerial approach, focusing on digitalization and cross-unit coordination.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is a key component of healthcare digital transformation aimed at improving the effectiveness of inpatient services. The success of EMR implementation is strongly influenced by the work culture of healthcare professionals. This study aims to analyze the role of work culture in supporting EMR implementation, identify existing challenges, and propose improvement strategies at Weda Bay Medical Center, North Maluku. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that EMR implementation fosters a more disciplined, accountable, and digitally oriented work culture, leading to improved speed, accuracy, and coordination of inpatient services. However, challenges such as limited digital competence, resistance to change, and technical system issues remain. Continuous training, strengthened IT infrastructure, managerial support, and workflow adjustments are required to enhance effectiveness. The study concludes that an adaptive work culture is essential for effective EMR-based inpatient services.
