Abstract

In this era, the integration of learning media such as Wordwall has become increasingly relevant. The use of technology in Arabic language learning is expected to stimulate students' interest, accelerate the comprehension process, and create a more dynamic learning environment. This study aims to determine how students respond to the use of the Wordwall application or media in Arabic language learning at the secondary school level. The research method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach, with the research location at MTs Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo. The findings of this study indicate that the use of the Wordwall application in Arabic language learning at madrasas received a very positive response from students. By continuously implementing innovations like Wordwall, Arabic language learning in madrasas can continue to evolve and positively impact student development. This research highlights the importance of integrating technology into language education, particularly in enhancing student engagement and learning outcomes. The positive reception of Wordwall suggests that similar interactive digital tools could be beneficial in other language learning contexts. Further research could explore the long-term effects of such applications on language proficiency and retention.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of the Unzur Wa Qul Method on the Maharah al-Qira'ah (reading skills) of Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. Using a quantitative approach with an experimental method and quasi-experimental design, this study was conducted on students in one of the Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Gorontalo City. The results show a significant influence of the Unzur Wa Qul Method on students' maharah al-qira'ah. Statistical analysis using SPSS 26.0 shows the Asymp. Sig. (2-Tailed) value for the experimental group is 0.000, which is less than 0.05. This indicates a significant difference between Pre-Test and Post-Test results in the experimental group. Furthermore, hypothesis testing confirms the positive and significant influence of the Unzur Wa Qul method, with an Asymp. Sig. (2-Tailed) value of 0.000, which is also less than 0.05. These findings affirm the effectiveness of the Unzur Wa Qul Method in improving students' Arabic reading skills. The implications of this research point to the potential for wider development and application of this method in Arabic language learning at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level, particularly to enhance students' reading skills.

Abstract

Rhyme and saj' (rhymed prose) are forms of literary beauty in Indonesian and Arabic literature often used in poetry, pantun, and syair. Although there have been several studies on aspects of rhyme and saj', there is still a need for research exploring the correlation between these two literary styles. This study aims to analyze the differences and similarities between rhyme and saj' using literature study methods and comparative analysis. The results reveal eight components that were examined: rhyme placement at the beginning, middle, and end of lines; use of rhyme in multi-word phrases; phonetic similarity in letters; similarity of vowels (harakat) in phonetics; variations in rhyme patterns; and word balance harmony. Of these eight components, similarities between rhyme and saj' were found in four aspects: rhyme placement in the middle and end of lines, use of rhyme in multi-word phrases, and phonetic similarity in letters. Differences lie in the other four components: rhyme placement at the beginning of lines, vowel similarity in phonetics, variations in rhyme patterns, and word balance harmony. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of literary disciplines, particularly regarding rhyme and saj'. These findings are expected to enrich insights into the uniqueness and similarities between Indonesian and Arabic literary traditions, as well as open opportunities for further comparative studies in linguistics and literature.

Abstract

This study analyzes students' cognitive and affective responses to Android-based learning media and its impact on learning outcomes. Using a descriptive method, the research involved 40 students. Data was collected through questionnaires measuring students' cognitive and affective responses, and multiple-choice tests administered before and after media use. Results show a significant improvement in student learning outcomes; all students achieved the minimum passing score (70) after using the media, with the highest score reaching 98. Students' cognitive responses to the media were highly positive, with percentage scores ranging from 75% to 82%, indicating the media's effectiveness in enhancing understanding and learning outcomes. Affective responses also showed positive results, with percentage scores between 81% and 84%, suggesting that students felt happy, motivated, and comfortable while learning. The study concludes that Android-based learning media is effective in improving academic achievement and creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment for students. This approach can be an essential part of school learning strategies. The research highlights the potential of mobile technology in education, demonstrating its ability to engage students both cognitively and emotionally, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience and academic performance.

Abstract

This research focuses on developing a mobile application for Arabic language learning using a contextual approach, designed for eighth-grade students. The Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE model was implemented, encompassing stages of needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and application evaluation. The validation process involved media and material experts, resulting in a highly favorable assessment with average scores of 94.4% for technical aspects and 95.2% for curriculum alignment. The application's implementation actively engaged teachers and students, generating very positive responses. The app was deemed user-friendly, relevant to learning needs, and effective in enhancing students' motivation and understanding of Arabic language materials. The final evaluation phase identified several areas for improvement, which were then integrated to refine the application, enhancing its support for contextual and interactive learning. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to educational technology development, particularly in the domain of Arabic language learning. The findings demonstrate great potential for wider adoption in other educational institutions. The contextual approach implemented in this mobile application offers an innovative solution to improve effectiveness and engagement in Arabic language learning, aligning with the trends of education digitalization and the need for more adaptive and personalized learning methods.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the use of Plotagon Story application as an information technology-based teaching tool to improve Arabic listening and speaking skills. The background of this research focuses on the importance of interactive learning tools to support student engagement, especially in the context of learning Arabic at MAN 1 Lamongan. The research uses a mixed method with quantitative and qualitative descriptive experimental design. The research sample consisted of (35) tenth grade students who were selected purposively. Data were collected through pre-test, post-test, observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research showed a significant increase in students' abilities in listening and speaking skills after using the Plotagon Story application, with the average post-test score of 84.17 compared to 61.37 in the pre-test. The N-Gain test showed an average gain of 0.61, indicating the effectiveness of the application in the "moderately effective" category. Using this application motivates students through interesting and interactive animated video media. However, there are several drawbacks, such as limited features in the free version and the need for high device specifications. In conclusion, Plotagon Story has proven its effectiveness as a means of learning Arabic, although several aspects need to be improved for further improvement. This research provides recommendations for further integration of similar applications in language learning with better technological support.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis makna kiasan dalam syair "معاذ ملاذٌ لزواده" karya Al-Mutanabbi, seorang penyair terkemuka dalam sastra Arab klasik yang dikenal dengan kedalaman filosofis dan keagungan bahasanya. Syair ini memanfaatkan kiasan untuk menggambarkan kemuliaan dan tantangan yang dihadapi oleh sosok Mu'adh, dengan fokus yang lebih personal dibandingkan dengan karya-karya Al-Mutanabbi lainnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis sastra untuk mengidentifikasi dan menginterpretasikan makna kiasan dalam teks syair, didukung oleh literatur sekunder yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat makna kiasan dalam syair Al-Mutanabbi dengan judul "معاذ ملاذ لزواده". Hal ini dibuktikan dengan kata-kata seperti "ملاذ" (tempat perlindungan), "الحطيم" (tembok Ka'bah), dan "زمزم" (sumur suci) yang merujuk pada simbol-simbol agama yang berarti tempat-tempat suci. Analisis menunjukkan bahwa kiasan dalam syair ini menggunakan simbol-simbol keagamaan dan metafora untuk menekankan status dan kehormatan Mu'adh, dan tetap relevan dalam konteks modern. Kontribusi khusus dari penelitian ini adalah bagaimana analisis kiasan ini memberikan wawasan baru dalam memahami teknik sastra Al-Mutanabbi dan aplikasinya di zaman sekarang, serta mengungkap relevansi nilai-nilai yang diangkat dalam syair terhadap tantangan dan kepemimpinan kontemporer. Artikel ini berkontribusi pada studi sastra Arab klasik dengan menghubungkan teknik kiasan dengan konteks kehidupan masa kini, menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai dalam syair Al-Mutanabbi tetap memiliki aplikasi yang signifikan hingga saat ini.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze phonological errors in the reading skills of Arabic texts by grade VII students. Data sources were obtained from interviews with teachers and students, as well as recording the process of reading Arabic texts by students. The data was then analyzed through the identification and classification of phonological errors that occurred. This study identified various phonological pronunciation errors in students' Arabic reading skills, including the change of the phoneme ع to ء, such as in the pronounced بائع pronunciation, the change of the phoneme خ to ح such as أختي to أحتي, and the change of the phoneme ق to ك, e.g. the word سائق becomes سائك. This phonological error is caused by the limited knowledge of students in distinguishing phonemes that have adjacent articulations, as well as the lack of adequate reading practice, which results in inaccuracies in the pronunciation of letters and difficulties in understanding the meaning of reading.

Abstract

Thematic learning in class VI MI Nurul Arsyad incorporates ice breaking activities to foster an engaging and interactive learning environment. This study explores the implementation of ice breaking and its impact on student motivation. Using qualitative methods, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from early to late October 2024. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s model, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Triangulation techniques ensured data validity. The findings indicate that ice breaking effectively creates a positive classroom atmosphere by enhancing student attention, engagement, and reducing tension. It also boosts student confidence and participation. As a result, students show improved motivation and academic performance. The study recommends that teachers regularly incorporate ice breaking techniques to promote a productive learning environment.

Abstract

Arabic is a compulsory subject at SMP Plus Ainul Falah Islamic Boarding School, Sumbergede, Sekampung, East Lampung, emphasizing foreign language skills as a key focus. However, teaching and learning Arabic face numerous challenges. Educators encounter obstacles due to limited experience, resource constraints, and high academic expectations. Students, often learning Arabic for the first time and coming from diverse backgrounds, face difficulties with grammar, language anxiety, and motivation. This qualitative descriptive research, conducted through a case study approach, explores these challenges to present an objective picture of the situation. Data were gathered from students at the boarding school. Findings highlight that grammatical differences pose significant learning hurdles, while language anxiety makes students hesitant to participate due to fear of mistakes or peer judgment. Additionally, low student motivation hampers learning progress. Addressing these challenges is crucial for enhancing Arabic learning outcomes at the school.
