Abstract

Students of the Mandalika University of Education (UNDIKMA) each year propose a Student Creativity Program (PKM) proposal from various existing schemes. Students of the Faculty of Science, Technique, and Applied Science Mandalika University of Education each year win PKM grants. In 2021, students from the Department of Biology Education won a PKM-RE scheme, continuing in 2022, the same students won 1 incentive scheme, namely PKM-AI. However, so far the participation of Mandalika University of Education students in compiling PKM proposals is still relatively low, because there are no more than 5 teams proposing PKM each year. Therefore, the Department of Biology Education Lecturer team took the initiative to conduct training and assistance in preparing PKM proposals for 2023, with the hope that after this training and assistance, the PKM team proposing grants this year will experience an increase. The purpose of this service program is the preparation of PKM proposals from various PKM schemes offered by the Directorate General of Higher Education and Technology up to the submit stage. The results of these training and mentoring activities show an increase in student interest in proposing PKM. This is evidenced by the increasing number of submitted PKM proposals. Apart from that, the enthusiasm of the students to learn and read various kinds of articles was also seen as a reference for their respective proposals.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is for people to know the importance of washing their hands properly, and what the impact will be if they don't wash their hands properly. The 2019 Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19) pandemic has caused all activities to be carried out individually in each village while adhering to the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The most common thing that is done in each activity is to provide education and demonstrations about Covid-19 to the surrounding community. In accordance with the Covid-19 rules, namely staying at home, the service implementing team conducted counseling by visiting residents' homes. Covid-19 is a new disease that emerged in 2019 and causes respiratory infections. The most common symptoms of Covid-19 are fever, dry cough and shortness of breath. Some people may experience head or body aches, runny nose, sore throat, or diarrhea. While some people (about 80%) will recover on their own from Covid-19 without needing special treatment, about 1 in 6 people will experience more serious symptoms and experience difficulty breathing. We are all at risk of contracting Covid-19, but older people and people with health problems such as high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to experience severe symptoms from Covid-19, and are more at risk of dying from it. People with fever, cough and shortness of breath should seek immediate medical attention. People can catch Covid-19 from other people who are already infected, regardless of whether these people have symptoms or not. This disease can spread from human to other humans through droplets (droplets/splashes of body fluids from the nose or mouth, such as saliva). Droplets are spread when someone who already has this virus in their body coughs or sneezes. Research shows that Covid-19 can survive for some time on various inanimate surfaces, such as tables or doorknobs.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to equalize artificial insemination in cattle in Laweyan Village, Surakarta City. While the results obtained from this activity are if the government does free artificial insemination in Laweyan Village, it will further improve the economy of cattle breeders in Laweyan Village and increase the population of cross-breeding cattle in Laweyan Village. The artificial insemination program was carried out in Laweyan Sub-District, with 20 cattle breeders and 60 cows. In this activity, the implementation team carried out several activities to carry out the artificial insemination program. The number of female cows in all breeders is 60 cows, out of 60 cows we give the first hormone injection simultaneously within 1 day, after that we wait for the cows to go into heat for 11-12 days if there is no heat for 11-12 days we do the second injection, after that we wait for the cows to go into heat for 2-3 days, when the cows go into heat we wait for the right time to be artificially inseminated, then the heat for adult cows is 17 days .8 hours with a range of 2.4-28 hours while for heifers it is 15.3 hours, all activities take place according to directions from the local inseminator and veterinarian. If the farmer's cow starts to go into heat, we and the inseminator and the veterinarian perform artificial insemination, the success of artificial insemination can be determined by observing the cow's estrus cycle 21 days after the artificial insemination is carried out and the cow does not experience the first estrus, and also does not experience the second estrous cycle, then the cow is declared pregnant at 42 days. The number of 60 cows that received artificial insemination injections, the percentage of successful artificial insemination injections of all cows was 65%, it can be said that the artificial insemination injections that were carried out were successful.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to be creative through education for children as the nation's generation. The methods used include: 1) outreach to the village community or village officials; 2) activities carried out by Sanggar Sejahtera; and 3) learning English. The results of the activities achieved included: 1) Children's Studio activities in Jabung Village, Malang Regency. Through positive activities carried out according to a predetermined schedule, younger siblings are able to learn to share the time they have. The activities that are often carried out are discussions, making short videos to be able to provide lessons widely by sharing these videos on social media. In addition, the Children's Studio also often holds performances during major holidays, such as Independence Day, National Children's Day, and other celebrations. However, during this pandemic, the studio's activities were limited and they could only share lessons with other younger siblings through learning videos that had been made and uploaded to Sanggar Anak's social media. So that the negative activities towards children that we usually encounter in Jabung Village are slowly decreasing and even have to disappear; and 2) English learning activities. Through the learning activities that we carried out, the students from the studio were interested in participating in learning English. Some younger students in the studio never had English lessons at Elementary School (ES) or even Junior High School (JHS). In carrying out learning activities, we try to make learning active and fun by providing games as a form of repeating the lessons that have been given. We also still provide the basics of understanding English so that younger siblings don't feel confused. This makes them understand the importance of mastering languages other than their mother tongue and regional languages.
