Abstract

This study examines the important role of leadership in driving change and innovation in the general insurance sector through a systematic literature review. By analyzing recent studies, we explore how leaders in the general insurance industry can effectively facilitate organizational transformation and foster a culture of innovation amid digital disruption and rapid market change. Through a systematic analysis of 43 scientific articles published between 2014-2024, the study identifies several key themes, namely visionary, adherent, and transformational leadership styles as catalysts for change, the importance of creating a culture of innovation, the use of technology and data analytics in product and service innovation, strategies for managing resistance to change, and developing organizational capabilities to innovate sustainably. We also examined the specific challenges insurance leaders face in managing change, such as technology disruptions, customer expectations, regulatory constraints and employee resistance. The findings show that leaders who successfully adopt a visionary, adaptive and transformational and human-centered leadership approach tend to be more effective in driving innovation and managing organizational change. The study provides insurance executives and policymakers with valuable insights into leadership strategies that can improve the competitiveness and sustainability of general insurers in the digital age. We also identify gaps in the existing literature and suggest directions for future research to better understand the dynamics of leadership in the context of innovation in the general insurance industry.

Abstract

The material laboratory stores chemicals used for material testing. The storage of chemicals needs to be maintained as chemicals have a shelf life, and if stored for too long, they can be hazardous to both the environment and the individuals working in the material laboratory area. The current manual inventory management leads to overstocking or understocking, increasing storage costs. Therefore, this study aims to design an information system that shifts from manual to real-time, enhancing the effectiveness of inventory management and reducing storage costs. The PIECES method is used in this study because this method can analyze the current system's condition and the proposed system before implementation. System design is also employed in this study, such as use case diagrams, activity diagrams, and class diagrams, to clarify the communication flow within the material laboratory. The use of system design can demonstrate a structured communication flow in the material laboratory, enabling real-time information systems. The PIECES method helps researchers analyze the current manual system and the real-time system that will be used.

Abstract

The term 3 Language National School has been known in Indonesia since the reform era. It is called the Three Language National School because this school includes Mandarin as a subject in addition to Indonesian and English. The government considers Mandarin to be a form of foreign cooperation. As a result, three Language Schools in Indonesia are included in the Cooperative Education Unit School or SPK. The term SPK, mentioned before Permendikbud No. 31/2014 regarding Cooperative Education Unit Schools, was previously referred to as International Schools. The purpose of this study is to analyze Permendikbud No. 31/2014, which changed the 3 Language National School to the Cooperative Education Unit School (SPK). The method used in this study is normative legal research using three approaches, namely the statutory approach, the case approach, and the conceptual approach. The essay will be conducted with analysis using a critical legal perspective and John Rawls' theory of justice. The study results reveal many problems stemming from the implementation of Permendikbud No. 31/2014. This has led to the decline of 3 Language Schools and has forced the 3 Language National Schools, which have a history and vision of being national schools, to also face challenges. Some of these schools are even at risk of dissolution.

Abstract

Diabetic neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that significantly impacts quality of life and is also prone to cognitive decline exacerbated by diabetes complications. Medication adherence has been shown to slow or prevent cognitive decline. Neuropathy symptoms, neuropathic pain, and sensory disturbances can worsen cognitive function. This study aimed to assess the relationship between cognitive function and medication adherence, as well as clinical outcomes of neuropathy symptoms in geriatric patients with diabetic neuropathy. This observational cross-sectional study involved 217 geriatric patients at RSUD Tebet from June to September 2024. Cognitive function was assessed using the MoCA-Ina questionnaire, and adherence was measured through questionnaires, medical records, and direct observation (MARS-5, MPR, and Pill Count) as well as DNS scoring to assess clinical outcomes of neuropathy symptoms. This study found that women (71,5%) were more likely to experience cognitive decline than men (28,5%). The study found that medication adherence varied by method. Triangulation showed 64.6% non-adherence in cognitive decline versus 35.4% in normal function (OR 1.774, 95% CI: 1.001-3.144). Caregiver presence significantly affected adherence (p=0.011), with a 2.8 times higher risk of non-adherence and a 2.4 times higher risk of neuropathy symptoms in patients without caregivers.

Abstract

Stunting is still a significant public health problem in South Aceh, potentially threatening the healthy and intelligent generation. The Health Office and DP3AKB of South Aceh Regency carried out stunting cracks to deal with this issue, which is part of the national development agenda. Stunting not only inhibits children's physical growth, but also interferes with brain development, affecting their mental and academic abilities. In 2021, the prevalence of stunting among children under five in South Aceh reached 27.3%, better than other regions in Aceh, but still far from the national target of 14% in 2024. This study aims to determine the relationship between understanding and attitudes of nursing students in supporting local government programs to overcome stunting. The method used is observational with a cross-sectional study design. The results showed that 73% of students had a good understanding of stunting, and 68% showed a positive attitude towards government programs. The final analysis emphasizes the importance of increasing public understanding of stunting, with the active role of final year students expected to strengthen support for local government programs in an effort to alleviate the stunting problem in South Aceh.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence regarding the big five personality traits of each auditor and their ability to detect fraud, assisted by digital forensics. The study involves several auditors from the Central BPK RI. The Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is used as the main theoretical foundation of this research because TPB is a behavioral theory that arises from the intention to behave and reflects the individual's traits and the abilities of a profession (auditor) to make decisions based on their work results, which is a form of behavioral attitude. Additionally, digital forensics is applied in this study as a moderating variable, expected to enhance the auditors' ability to detect fraud and weaken the relationship between certain Big Five personality traits of the auditors. This quantitative research uses the Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis method. The independent variables in this study are openess to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. The dependent variable is the auditors' ability to detect fraud, and the moderating variable is the application of digital forensics. The survey method was conducted by distributing Google Form questionnaires, and 172 respondents were obtained. Data processing was done using SmartPLS 3.2.9 software. The analysis results show that openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism influence auditors' ability to detect fraud, and the application of digital forensics has an impact on strengthening auditors' personalities with high scores on the dimensions of openess to experience, extraversion, conscientiousness and neuroticism.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of toxic leadership and workplace ostracism on employees' intentions to leave their jobs, with psychological distress as a mediator and gratitude as a moderator. Job turnover intention refers to an employee's desire to permanently quit their job, influenced by factors such as toxic leadership—characterized by authoritarian and unpredictable behavior—and ostracism, where individuals are ignored by colleagues. Both toxic leadership and ostracism can lead to psychological distress, which encompasses stress and emotional discomfort affecting mental well-being. Conversely, high levels of gratitude may mitigate the intention to leave. Utilizing an explanatory research design with a quantitative approach, the study employed five measurement instruments: a turnover intention questionnaire, a toxic leadership questionnaire, a workplace ostracism questionnaire, a psychological distress questionnaire, and a gratitude questionnaire. Conducted across three construction companies in West Jakarta, the study involved a sample of 150 employees. Findings indicate that toxic leadership and ostracism predict employees' turnover intentions, mediated by psychological distress. However, gratitude was not found to moderate the relationship between psychological distress and turnover intention in this model. The research highlights the importance of addressing toxic leadership and ostracism to reduce turnover intentions by developing improved policies and interventions that alleviate psychological distress among employees.
