Abstract

Object detection is a fundamental task in computer vision systems used in robotics, automation, and real-time tracking applications. However, implementing accurate and responsive detection on low-cost embedded hardware presents significant challenges due to limited processing power and environmental variability. This study aims to evaluate the performance of an object detection system utilizing ArUco markers on a Raspberry Pi-based platform. The research investigates the system’s ability to detect and identify three types of physical objects a plastic bottle, a flower pot, and a glass cup as well as the performance when all three objects are present simultaneously. The system was tested under controlled static conditions using a camera to capture real-time video streams. Detection time, computation time, and accuracy were measured across five consecutive frames for each scenario. Results show that the system achieved consistent detection and processing times below 0.14 seconds per frame, meeting real-time performance criteria. Detection accuracy across all individual object scenarios exceeded 91%, with the highest accuracy recorded in the multi-object scenario at 93.44%. No detection failures occurred during the experiments, and frame-by-frame analysis confirmed temporal stability. These findings indicate that marker-based detection is a reliable and efficient approach for real-time applications in structured environments. The study provides a foundation for extending the system to more dynamic conditions in future research.

Abstract

Low mathematics learning outcomes among students are often caused by a lack of interest and active involvement in the learning process. Monotonous teaching methods and a lack of innovative media make it difficult for students to understand abstract mathematical concepts. Therefore, more interactive and enjoyable learning strategies are needed. One potential medium that can be used is Role Playing Games (RPGs), which allow students to learn while playing roles in educational scenarios. This study aims to determine the effect of using RPG learning media on the mathematics learning outcomes of eighth-grade students at SMP Islam Cendekia Harapan Jombang. This study employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consists of 19 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument is a mathematics learning achievement test comprising 20 multiple-choice questions, which has been validated by experts. Data were analysed using a paired sample t-test with the assistance of SPSS. The analysis results showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, with a significance level of 0.047 (p 0.05). Thus, the use of RPG media was proven effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. RPG was able to create a more active, engaging, and contextual learning environment, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of concepts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication techniques employed by the leadership of Pondok Pesantren Modern Daarul Muhsinin Janjimanaan Kawat Labuhanbatu in shaping the leadership character of students through the "Catur Mantap" program consisting of four core aspects: Mantap Ibadahku, Mantap Akhlakku, Mantap Belajarku, and Mantap Bahasaku. Utilizing a qualitative field research approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that pesantren leaders apply multi-strategic communication techniques, including interpersonal, group, symbolic, and instructional communication. These approaches align with both Islamic communication principles shidq (truthfulness), tabligh (clarity in message), amanah (trustworthiness), and fathonah (wisdom) and modern communication theory, especially DeVito's effective communication model (openness, empathy, supportiveness, positivity, and equality). The communication strategies were proven to be effective in building emotional bonds, enhancing student participation, and internalizing moral and spiritual values. Moreover, they serve as transformative tools in character education and leadership development. This study contributes to the practical and theoretical understanding of Islamic educational leadership communication and offers a replicable model for other Islamic institutions.

Abstract

Flooding is a recurring environmental challenge in Pangkal Pinang City, influenced by both natural topographic conditions and increasingly intensive land use changes. This study aims to assess spatial flood risk using the Topographic Wetness Index (TWI) as a hydrological indicator derived from Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data. Through slope and flow accumulation analysis, TWI values were calculated and classified using the equal interval method into five classes: very low, low, medium, high, and very high. The results show that the majority of the area falls into the very low and low categories, indicating good drainage conditions. However, localized zones of high and very high TWI values were identified in Bukit Intan, Gabek, and Rangkui sub-districts. In Bukit Intan, high flood susceptibility is linked to large-scale land clearing for industrial areas, residential expansion, and fish ponds. In Gabek, extensive deforestation for new settlements contributes to increasing flood risks. Meanwhile, in Rangkui, the accumulation of water is exacerbated by the density of existing built-up areas and insufficient drainage infrastructure. These findings highlight the relevance of TWI as a spatial analysis tool to support urban flood mitigation planning, especially in areas undergoing rapid land conversion. The study emphasizes the need to integrate topographic analysis into urban development policies to ensure flood-resilient growth.

Abstract

This study explores tax efficiency practices in Indonesia’s basic and chemical industry sectors during the economic uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. It examines the influence of profitability, capital structure, capital intensity, and audit committee on tax efficiency, with liquidity as a moderating variable. Employing a quantitative causal associative approach and Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 3.3.2, the research analyzes 9 IDX-listed companies from 2019 to 2023. The results show that capital intensity and audit committee positively affect tax efficiency, while profitability and capital structure have no significant impact. Liquidity does not directly influence tax efficiency but strengthens the relationship between capital structure and capital intensity with tax efficiency. However, liquidity does not moderate the effects of profitability and audit committee. The findings indicate that in capital-intensive industries, tax efficiency is more influenced by asset utilization and governance mechanisms rather than profitability or leverage. The study emphasizes the importance of firm-specific characteristics in tax planning, especially during macroeconomic volatility. It contributes to the discourse on ethical and sustainable tax management by offering insights for policymakers and corporate financial managers on the role of liquidity and internal governance in shaping tax behavior

Abstract

Public speaking is a critical skill for students, particularly in Islamic educational institutions where delivering religious speeches is essential. At MAS Hidayatullah Tanjung Morawa, the khitobah subject plays a central role in fostering these skills among female students (santriwati). This study aims to analyze the implementation of the khitobah subject in enhancing the public speaking abilities of santriwati. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation as primary sources, complemented by books and relevant articles as secondary references. The data were analyzed through processes of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that (1) the khitobah subject extends beyond sermon delivery to include comprehensive public speaking training; (2) students' public speaking abilities vary by grade level, largely due to differences in learning experiences; and (3) the subject has shown notable effectiveness, especially in Grade XII, in boosting students' confidence, fluency, and minimizing regional accents. Regular weekly sessions and hands-on practice are key factors in improving the students' overall public speaking competence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Work-Life Balance and Organizational Culture on Job Satisfaction among Civil Servants at UPT Puskesmas Pal 3 in Pontianak City. Utilizing a quantitative approach with an associative research design, the study employed saturated sampling, involving the entire population of 36 civil servants as respondents. The findings from the F-test demonstrate that Work-Life Balance and Organizational Culture simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on Job Satisfaction. Additionally, the t-test results reveal that both variables also exert a positive and significant individual influence, with Work-Life Balance showing a more dominant effect than Organizational Culture. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.472 indicates that 47.2% of the variance in Job Satisfaction can be explained by these two independent variables, while the remaining 52.8% is attributed to other factors not included in this study. The results highlight the critical importance of promoting a healthy balance between professional and personal life, alongside fostering a constructive organizational culture, as key strategies to improve employee job satisfaction especially within the public sector. For future research, it is recommended to incorporate additional variables such as leadership style, workload, and organizational climate to achieve a more holistic understanding of the determinants of job satisfaction. Furthermore, applying a mixed-method approach and expanding the sample across multiple institutions or geographic regions may yield deeper insights and enhance the generalizability of the findings.
