Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This disease is one of the main causes of global morbidity and mortality, with Indonesia being the country with the second highest TB burden in the world. This study aims to evaluate the role of health education in increasing school students' knowledge about TB prevention. The research method used a cross-sectional design with data collection by accidental sampling on 52 high school students who participated in UKS and UKGS activities at the UPT Puskesmas Noebana, November 2024. Knowledge level data was collected through questionnaires before and after the education session. The research results showed a significant increase in students' knowledge, where the "good" category increased from 13.5% to 80.77%, while the "poor" category decreased from 57.7% to 0%. Statistical analysis produces a p value = 0.007, which indicates that there is a significant influence of education on respondents' knowledge. These findings emphasize the importance of health education programs in preventing TB, especially in the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of anorectal malformation (AMR) patients treated at Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid General Hospital, Makassar City in the period 2021 to 2024. Using univariate analysis methods with medical record data, this study presents an overview of gender, initial age at surgery, anorectal malformation variants, and types of surgery performed on patients. The results showed that male patients dominated MAR cases with a proportion of 74.6%, while the other 25.4% were female. The initial age of surgery in most patients was ≤ 2 days (44.4%). The most common type of malformation found was the type without fistula (87.3%), followed by several types of rectovaginal, rectovesical, and other fistulas. Colostomy was the most common first surgical procedure performed, with 69.8% of patients undergoing the procedure. These findings are consistent with previous studies showing a male predominance in the incidence of MAR and a tendency to perform colostomy in the early stages of treatment. This study is expected to provide a clearer picture of the characteristics of MAR patients in Indonesia and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications.

Abstract

Ileus or Ileus or intestinal obstruction is a condition where the normal flow of intestinal contents is disrupted, either partially or totally, resulting in the inability of the intestinal contents to pass through the gastrointestinal tract. The main causes of small bowel obstruction include incarcerated hernia, adhesions (intestinal adhesions), intussusception, ascariasis, volvulus, tumors, and gallstones that enter the ileus. Intestinal obstruction can be classified into two main categories: acute and chronic. In this case, obstructive ileus typically focuses on disturbances in the flow of intestinal contents caused by these various conditions. Management of Obstructive Ileus Patients. Initial Management The assessment of airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC) is the primary focus of initial management in patients with obstructive ileus. Supportive management includes bowel rest, intravenous (IV) fluid therapy, and, if necessary, nasogastric (NG) decompression. Patient Care fluid and electrolyte monitoring is crucial, as dehydration and electrolyte imbalances are common in patients with obstructive ileus. Surgical intervention may be necessary if obstruction does not improve with conservative management or if complications like intestinal perforation occur. Findings from the Literature Review (2020-2024). In the literature review conducted, 11 articles related to the characteristics of obstructive ileus patients were found. These articles discuss various factors related to the condition, as well as the characteristics of patients with obstructive ileus, including age, etiology, and other risk factors. Mortality in Obstructive Ileus. Mortality in patients with obstructive ileus is influenced by several factors, including, Age: Younger or older patients have lower tolerance to the disease and surgical procedures, which may increase the risk of death.. Etiology: The cause of the obstruction plays an important role. For instance, small bowel obstructions tend to have a better prognosis compared to colon obstructions. Location and Duration of Obstruction, Obstructions in the colon generally have a higher mortality rate than those in the small bowel. Additionally, obstructions that last longer increase the risk of complications that can lead to death.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how students respond to the use of mastery-based electronic mathematics learning modules. This quantitative descriptive study examines the level of student satisfaction when learning mathematics with mastery-based electronic modules. The data to be used comes from student response questionnaires. This study involved 36 students from SMA Negeri 1 Seyegan who were in class X.E4. The data collection method used a questionnaire containing statement items. These statements cover four assessment components: suitability to the mastery learning approach, interest, material and presentation, and use of language. The results showed that student responses in large-scale tests were categorized as "Very Good" with an average of 71.97, and in small-scale tests were categorized as "Good" with an average of 69.55. Therefore, it can be concluded that mastery-based electronic learning modules have a positive response from students as a learning medium. This module can also be used practically to teach mathematics.

Abstract

Cardiac arrest is one of the main causes of death outside the hospital. The main cause of death that is most commonly found in developed or developing countries to date is in the form of cardiac arrest cases. Cases of cardiac arrest can result in death if not properly handled by medical personnel. Globally, the prevalence of cardiac arrest cases is quite high. This literature aims to find out the pre-hospital management of cardiac arrest. The method used is in the form of a literature review with a Narrative Review design. The results obtained in this literature are 10 articles obtained with limitations from 2020 – 2024. From this article, an in-depth analysis has been carried out that has the strengths and limitations of each article regarding pre-hospital management in cardiac arrest. From 10 articles, there was a significant relationship between pre-hospital management of cardiac arrest and the occurrence of ROSC. Some pre-hospital management in cardiac arrest that can be carried out are airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, and emergency response system (EMS) activation. This literature concludes that it is important to immediately provide basic pre-hospital life support so that patients can be saved.
