Abstract

This study aims to map the conversion of agricultural land into built-up areas in Padang Panjang City during the period 2019 to 2025. The transformation of agricultural land into built-up areas is driven by urbanization, population growth, and infrastructure development. The research method employed is spatial analysis based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing, utilizing Landsat 8 and 9 satellite imagery processed using the supervised classification method and overlay analysis. The results indicate a significant decrease in paddy fields from 817.156 ha in 2019 to 562.264 ha in 2025, while residential areas increased from 414.442 ha to 702.863 ha over the same period. Accuracy assessment using the Confusion Matrix method yielded an overall accuracy of 92% with a Kappa coefficient of 0.85, categorized as very good. The study concludes that there is a significant conversion of agricultural land into built-up areas, highlighting the need for land-use control policies to prevent negative impacts on food security and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

Sijunjung Regency is one of the regencies in West Sumatra Province which is located in an area prone to landslides, earthquakes, fires and floods. Floods and landslides often occur due to changing river flow patterns, erosion and sedimentation in the Batang Ombilin, Batang Sukam, and Batang Palangki rivers, as well as the geology of Sijunjung Regency which mostly consists of rocks. This study aims to map the spatial distribution of areas prone to floods and landslides in Sijunjung Regency based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) using scoring and weighting methods as well as parameters that compose the vulnerability which are then overlay. The parameters used in the analysis include land use, slope gradient, land elevation, rainfall, soil type, rock type and river network. The data used comes from administrative maps, spatial data, and regional hydrological and climatological information. The research found that flood-prone areas in Sijunjung Regency are dominated by moderate areas 68%, high areas 9%, and low areas 23%. The verification rate was 75%.

Abstract

Mount Marapi is one of the active volcanoes in West Sumatra, which erupted on December 3, 2023, followed by heavy rainfall that triggered a cold lava flood. This event caused damage to land, infrastructure, and vegetation around Sungai Pua Subdistrict, Agam Regency. This study aims to analyze vegetation density changes before and after the lahar event and to map the affected areas using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, applying the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and spatial overlay methods. The results show a decrease in very dense vegetation from 623.127 ha (42.38%) to 199.095 ha (13.54%), and an increase in poor vegetation from 354.269 ha (24.09%) to 551.566 ha (37.50%). The total vegetation density change reached 734.03 ha out of 1,470.32 ha. Identification of affected areas also indicates that the lahar spread along river channels from the summit to the slopes, with an affected area of 110.832 ha. These areas include agricultural land, plantations, and settlements along the riverbanks that were damaged by volcanic materials.

Abstract

Tourism is a strategic sector in regional development. Agam Regency offers a variety of tourism potential, including natural, cultural, religious, and artificial attractions. However, information about these attractions is still fragmented and unintegrated. This study aims to identify the distribution of tourist attractions and design a WebGIS-based tourism information system. Primary data were collected through field observation and documentation, while secondary data were obtained from government agencies. Spatial data were processed using QGIS and ArcGIS, non-spatial data were stored in MySQL, and the system was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and XAMPP. The results indicate that the system successfully displays interactive maps, provides detailed descriptive information, and is compatible across devices. The user feedback has been positive, indicating high satisfaction with the system. This WebGIS-based system proves to be an effective tool for tourism promotion and management, helping Agam Regency integrate its tourism potential and make it more accessible to tourists and stakeholders alike.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of job placement, transfer, and workload on employee performance at PT. PLN (Persero) Aceh Distribution Unit. This study uses a census method, in which all elements of the population totaling 96 employees are directly investigated. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees, using a Likert scale to measure the variables of job placement, transfer, workload, and employee performance. The results of the regression analysis indicate that partially, job placement, transfer, and workload have a significant influence on employee performance. Appropriate job placement can increase motivation and work efficiency, while transfers carried out by considering individual abilities have a positive impact on adaptation and productivity. A balanced workload also plays an important role in reducing work stress and improving performance. In addition, simultaneous analysis using the F test shows that the three variables together have a significant influence on employee performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Online Customer Reviews, price, and product quality on the purchasing decisions of Gayo Arabica coffee through online marketplaces, with a case study on the residents of Banda Aceh City. The research is motivated by the growing use of digital platforms, which has shifted consumer behavior from traditional to online purchasing. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 96 respondents, selected using a non-probability sampling technique with an accidental sampling approach. The results show that partially, Online Customer Reviews, price, and product quality each have a significant influence on purchasing decisions. Specifically, Online Customer Reviews significantly affect consumer trust, price sensitivity, and product perception. Furthermore, product quality plays a crucial role in determining customer satisfaction and loyalty. Simultaneously, these three variables also significantly affect consumer purchasing decisions when combined. These findings imply that Gayo Arabica coffee business actors should pay attention to customer reviews, apply competitive pricing, and maintain product quality to enhance online purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Polarity is an essential concept in chemistry, but many students struggle to grasp it, necessitating the use of a simple learning medium. This study aims to examine the polarity levels of extracts from ten imported fruits, including Fuji apple, kiwi, strawberry, Sunkist orange, grape, pear, date, blueberry, cherry, and dragon fruit, using a static electricity-based device. The device was created using simple materials, making it practical for use in chemistry lessons. Its working principle is based on the deflection of liquid droplets, which are influenced by static electric charges on mica. The results showed that most extracts experienced varying degrees of deflection. Strawberry, pear, and kiwi exhibited strong deflection due to the presence of polar compounds, while apple, cherry, and grape demonstrated moderate deflection. Blueberry could not be tested due to its high viscosity. This study presents a straightforward learning tool to help students better understand the polarity of covalent compounds, providing an accessible approach to learning complex chemistry concepts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of Store ATMOSPHERE, Word-of-Mouth Promotion, and Service Quality on the Decision to Use Services at AMAZON Barbershop in Ketapang, Aceh Besar, both simultaneously and partially. The population in this study was unknown, and the sample size was 96 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation studies. Hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression analysis, F-test (simultaneous) and t-test (partial) was intended to determine the effect of the independent variables on the dependent variable at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that, through partial tests, the variables Store Atmosphere, Word-of-Mouth Promotion, and Service Quality influenced the decision to use services at Suasana Barbershop Ketapang, Aceh Besar. A simultaneous test also examined the variables Store Atmosphere, Word-of-Mouth Promotion, and Service Quality.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on talent management with competence as a mediating variable among students at SMK Negeri 1 Banda Aceh. The rapid development of AI technology influences talent management practices in vocational education. This research uses a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS 4. The sample consists of 150 students, selected using the Slovin formula. The results show that AI has a positive and significant effect on competence (beta = 0.658; T = 15.092; p-value < 0.05) and talent management (beta = 0.450; T = 7.199; p-value < 0.05). Competence also positively affects talent management (beta = 0.427; T = 7.151; p-value < 0.05). Furthermore, AI positively influences talent management through competence (beta = 0.281; T = 6.674; p-value < 0.05). These findings confirm that the use of AI improves competence and strengthens talent management in vocational education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of capital structure on firm value in energy companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2021–2023, and to investigate whether profitability moderates the relationship between capital structure and firm value in these companies. This research uses a quantitative method. The population consists of 99 financial report samples from energy sector companies engaged in oil, gas, and coal that are listed on the IDX. The object of this research is energy sector companies in the oil, gas, and coal industries listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The data analysis technique employed is multiple linear regression analysis using EViews software. The type of data used in this study is secondary data. The results of the study show that capital structure has a significant effect on firm value in energy sector companies (oil, gas, and coal) listed on the IDX. Furthermore, profitability moderates the effect of capital structure on firm value in these companies.
