Abstract

The welfare of adopted animals is an important aspect that should be a concern for improving the quality of life and overall health of these animals. However, in the real situation that occurs, the welfare of adopted animals is often neglected by those who adopt these animals. Proper welfare practices for pets can enhance the quality of life and ensure their good health, reducing the risk of diseases and preventing disease transmission. Medan Animal Rescue is an organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of adopted animals. To support  the process of animal rescue and placement, an information system is needed to facilitate the activities at Medan Animal Rescue. The information system is developed using the waterfall methodology and tested using the black box testing method and user acceptance testing (UAT). The ultimate result of this research is an information system that can be utilized by both Medan Animal Rescue and adopters in the process to enhance the welfare of adopted animals.

Abstract

This present study aims to discuss Willingness to Communicate (WTC) practices by Indonesian EFL students in tertiary level. activity of EFL students carrying out WTC practices. The idea of WTC becomes the influential factors underlying EFL students’ involvement and participation with in the certain topics and certain situation. This study applied qualitative research method with thematic analysis approach, and two participants with specific criteria were chosen to answer the semi-structure interview. The emerging data was classified to drawing two themes; engaging with others in the classroom, and engaging with others outside the classroom. Responding to the practices of WTC carried out by Indonesian EFL learners, the fundamental factor underlying EFL learners’ WTC is the situation-based activity

Abstract

This learning is considered very boring because this learning always uses the lecture method without any learning improvisation that can increase students' desire to learn. This education aims to see how students respond and their learning level using the augmented reality method. The method used in this research is a qualitative method where the researcher gives pretest questions before the learning is implemented and a post-test after the learning is implemented to see the participants' knowledge increase. educate. It turns out that augmented reality-based learning can increase students' knowledge and students understand more about the implementation of Pancasila values both in everyday life in society and in school life.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) or low back pain (NPB) is pain in the lower back. Pain sensation inthe anatomy of this area is influenced by different variations of pain duration. This pain can be local, peripheral, or both. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between waist circumference and body mass index with the degree of low back pain in theelderly. The type of research used is observational analytic measurement research, with across-sectional design. The results of the study found a significant relationship between waist circumference and body mass index on the degree of pain in elderly low back pain patients at the Helvetia Health Center.

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant emotional sensation. Pain can begin after inflammation and/or after tissue damage. The use of analgesic or anti-pain drugs so far has undesirable side effects, so people have begun to look for alternative traditional medicines as a substitute. One of the plants that can be used as an alternative medicine for analgesics is chayote (S. edule). The purpose of this review is to provide information about chayote as an analgesic. This study focused on reviewing articles on experimental studies conducted in vivo and its bioactive components.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease condition caused by a dengue virus infection. DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4 are serotypes of the virus and are usually transmitted through the bite of mosquitoes from the stegomyia family, such as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. DHF often results in extraordinary events (KLB) and can lead to death. The disease can be categorized into four different clinical stages: stages I, II, III, and IV. Laboratory examination in DHF usually shows a decrease in platelet count below 100,000/µl and the presence of leaky plasma, which can be seen from the hematocrit that has increased by more than 20%. Objective to determine whether there is a relationship between hematocrit value and platelet count at degrees III and IV in DHF incidence. This type of research uses an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional approach. In the analysis, there is a significant relationship between hematocrit value and clinical degrees III and IV with a value of p = 0.043, and there is a relationship between platelet counts and clinical degrees III and IV with a value of p = 0.000.  There is a relationship between hematocrit value and platelet count in clinical degrees III and IV of DHF.

Abstract

Recent advances in tests for the sexually transmitted protozoan parasite Trichomonas vaginalis have increased opportunities for diagnosis and treatment of this important sexually transmitted infection. This review summarizes current available tests, highlighting their performance characteristics, advantages, and limitations. The recent development of molecular tests for the detection of T vaginalis, including rapid antigen detection and nucleic acid amplification tests, has significantly improved the quality of diagnostics for trichomoniasis, particularly in women. In light of the expanded menu of testing options now available, improved recognition and better control of trichomoniasis are in sight, which should enable the eventual reduction of adverse reproductive consequences associated with T vaginalis infection.

Abstract

Inflammation is characterized by interactions between pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines. Cytokines are generally classified in one or another category: interleukin-1 (IL-1), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), gamma-interferon (IFN-γ), IL-12, IL-18 and granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor, . classified as pro-inflammatory cytokines while IL-4, IL-10, IL-13, IFN-α and transforming growth factor-β are anti-inflammatory cytokines. In this review, it is demonstrated that this classification is too simplistic and provides many examples illustrating that certain cytokines can behave as both pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines. It is true, the amount of cytokines, the nature of the target cells, the nature of the activation signal, the nature of the cytokines produced, the timing, the order of action of the cytokines and even the experimental model are parameters that greatly influence the properties of the cytokines.

Abstract

Attendance is a very important function for the employee payroll process. Calculating attendance according to the number of working days means that the listing of attendance and subsequent filing must be controlled. The Central Depot of Supplies and Transport of the Army or GUPSBEKANGAD is the central bank institution of the Indonesian armed forces headquarters, whose main mission is to provide combat logistics services and military transportation. GUPSBEKANGAD's personnel handling system is still manual, namely using attendance books and signatures. This of course affects the efficiency of data collection, data recovery and calculation of time-consuming attendance reports, so the risk of errors that lead to the loss of attendance data is getting higher. Thus, there is a requirement for an application capable of capturing attendance data and overseeing attendance reports. This research will use a prototype development methodology. It is hoped that this Army Personnel Attendance Web Application will provide convenience in the attendance process, data collection, and attendance tracking, and reduce the risk of loss and errors in listing attendance data at GPUSBEKANGAD.
