Abstract

This study aims to develop contextual-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching materials that can improve student learning outcomes at **SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 15 Medan**. Contextual-based teaching materials are expected to help students relate the learning material to real-life situations they experience, resulting in a deeper and more applicable understanding of religious concepts. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. This study involves students of SMP Swasta Al Washliyah 15 Medan as research subjects. The results show that contextual-based PAI teaching materials are proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes, as evidenced by an increase in learning evaluation scores and positive responses from students toward the developed materials. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in designing more relevant and contextual teaching materials to improve the quality of PAI learning.

Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting untuk membekali siswa di masa depan,siswa dapat memperoleh berbagai pengetahuan. Siswa adalah seseorang yang mempunyai keinginan sadar untuk mengembangkan potensi dirinya melalui proses kegiatan belajar. Self-regulated learning (SRL) diartikan sebagai strategi belajar yang dikembangkan sendiri oleh siswa untuk mencapai tujuannya. Perbedaan gender menimbulkan perbedaan fisiologis dan mempengaruhi perbedaan psikologis dalam belajar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu uji beda. Penelitian ini melibatkan 114 respoden siswa/i SMA X. penelitian ini menggunakan teknik non- probability sampling. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara self-regulated learning pada siswa/i SMA X Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh, yaitu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara self-regulated learning pada siswa/i SMA X dengan arah korelasi positif, yang memiliki arti bahwa semakin tinggi self-regulated learning siswa maka semakin tinggi strategi belajar siswa. Begitu pula sebaliknya, semakin rendah self-regulated learning maka semakin rendah self-regulated learning siswa

Abstract

This study examines the vocabulary learning strategies employed by students at SMAN 5 Gorontalo in acquiring English vocabulary, with a particular focus on adjectives such as good, bad, tall, short, beautiful, and ugly. The research investigates the types of strategies used and examines the relationship between these strategies and the students' proficiency levels. A mixed-method approach was applied in the study, whereby quantitative data was collected through a questionnaire based on Oxford's (1990) Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL), and qualitative data was gathered via semi-structured interviews with four selected students, two of whom were high achievers and two of whom were low achievers. The findings indicate that the participants employed a range of vocabulary learning strategies, with social strategies being the most frequently utilized, followed by compensation strategies, cognitive strategies, and metacognitive strategies. The least utilized strategy was memory. The study also revealed that proficient students employed strategies that required greater effort, such as note-taking, seeking assistance, and seeking clarification, while less proficient students relied more on simpler strategies like code-switching and basic memorization. The findings indicate that the distinction in strategy use may be associated with the students' language proficiency, with more efficient strategy use correlating with elevated proficiency levels. This research emphasizes the significance of recognizing students' strategy preferences in the development of effective vocabulary instruction, particularly in rural contexts where English is taught as a foreign language. Additionally, it highlights the necessity for targeted strategy training to assist less proficient students in adopting more effective learning approaches.

Abstract

Employee performance is an important factor in influencing the success and productivity of the company. This study aims to examine the effect of Work Motivation and Work Discipline on Employee Performance at Mandiri Karya Snack in Karawang Regency. The research method used is a quantitative method with a survey approach. Data collected through questionnaires distributed to 35 employees of Mandiri Karya Snack. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression. So the results of this study indicate that work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Because employees who have high motivation tend to show better performance. Work discipline also has a positive and significant influence on employee performance. Employees who are disciplined at work tend to have optimal performance. The conclusion of this study is that increasing work motivation and work discipline can improve employee performance at mandiri karya snack.

Abstract

This study aims to study the phenomenon of bullying in schools. Departing from the condition of "bullying emergency" declared by the mass media, this study uses a qualitative approach to identify the factors that cause bullying and the prevention efforts that have been taken.  Although the government has issued regulations such as the Child Protection Law and Permendikbud Number 82 of 2015, its implementation is still limited and spatial.  Data were collected through literature studies and empirical data obtained from the experiences of junior high school (SMP) and high school (SMA) students in Semarang City.  The results of the research are expected to contribute to formulating more effective and comprehensive bullying prevention strategies in the school environment, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Abstract

Globalization has had a significant impact on the development of technology, especially social media. Teenagers as the main users of social media face challenges in maintaining ethics and manners. This study aims to identify the level of awareness of ethics and manners of teenagers in using social media. The method used is a literature study with an analysis of various relevant literature. The results of the study indicate that although most teenagers understand the importance of ethics, their practice still requires further guidance. This article provides practical recommendations to increase adolescents' ethical awareness in interacting in cyberspace.

Abstract

In this information age, where access to information is very broad, a good understanding of scientific thinking tools is essential. Mastery of these tools helps one think critically, analytically, and systematically when faced with new or complex information. It also allows one to distinguish between valid information and biased or unfounded information. Thus, scientific thinking tools are not only important for scientists or researchers, but also for the wider community as part of higher literacy education and as a tool to understand the world in a more objective and measurable way. Mastery of various scientific thinking tools opens the door to broader knowledge and enables more impactful and sustainable progress in science and technology. The results of this study indicate that scientific thinking tools are a series of tools and methods used to achieve an objective and systematic understanding of a phenomenon. Scientific thinking requires a structure that can be tested, repeated, and measured, allowing scientists or researchers to reach reliable conclusions. Various types of scientific thinking tools include several important aspects that support each other in the process of reasoning and analysis. First, logic is a basic tool to ensure consistency in scientific reasoning. The use of deductive logic, which goes from the general to the specific, and inductive logic, which moves from the specific to the general, helps scientists draw conclusions based on coherent rules and avoid contradictions. For example, through deductive logic, a scientist can conclude certain phenomena based on basic principles that have been proven to be true.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of locus of control and workplace facilities on the performance of employees at PT Bank Central Asia (BCA) in Palembang City. The research method employed is a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to BCA employees. The results indicate that there is a positive and significant influence between locus of control and workplace facilities on employee performance. Good workplace facilities, such as clean and comfortable workspaces, as well as modern work equipment, contribute to increased motivation and job satisfaction among employees, which in turn enhances their performance. This research contributes to the development of management science, particularly in understanding the relationship between psychological and physical factors that affect employee performance. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for further research and managerial practices in the banking industry.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship (entrepreneurship) is one of the most important sectors in a country's economy. Entrepreneurs not only play a role in creating jobs, but also in accelerating economic growth and innovation. In this competitive world of entrepreneurship, it is not enough just to have technical skills or hard skills, but also adequate soft skills. Soft skills refer to skills related to the ability to interact, communicate and adapt to an ever-changing social and professional environment. In this activity, the method used is a lecture or presentation with the aim of delivering material containing theories, concepts and the importance of mastering soft skills. in entrepreneurship to participants. With the presentation method, participants are given an understanding of the importance of creativity & optimism in building MSMEs, product promotion strategies, and the tools needed for MSMEs such as marketing platforms. The material is presented systematically using presentation slides, example images, and also presented using a whiteboard to facilitate explanation and understanding for participants. Mastery of soft skills can improve an entrepreneur's ability to face daily challenges. In this case, Gibb (2018) stated that soft skills greatly influence the success of an entrepreneur in facing market dynamics and ever-changing consumer needs. For example, good emotional intelligence can help entrepreneurs manage stress, communicate well in difficult situations, and make wise decisions (Luthans & Youssef, 2018). Presenting material regarding entrepreneurial soft skills is one part of community empowerment in navigating MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

In this paper, the importance of understanding the munasabah al-ayat and al-suwar in the Qur'an has been discussed. Munasabah plays a crucial role in helping readers understand the meaning and context of revelation. By analyzing the relationship between verses and letters, we can dig deeper into the messages contained in the Qur'an. The study of munasabah al-ayat and al-suwar is essential to enrich our understanding of the Qur'an. By understanding this relationship, we can provide a more accurate and comprehensive interpretation of the text of the Qur'an. This can also strengthen religious practices and understanding of Islamic teachings as a whole. It is hoped that further research can be conducted to dig deeper into munasabah al-ayat and al-suwar, and their implications in everyday life. This research can include comparative studies between different interpretations and different analytical approaches, so that it can provide broader insights into the understanding of the Qur'an.
