Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of soybean soaking time on the quality of tempeh as a mendoan ingredient, especially in terms of taste and texture. Mendoan tempeh has unique sensory characteristics that are largely determined by the quality of tempeh in the initial stages of processing, so that the soybean soaking process is an important factor that needs to be studied scientifically. The research method/approach used was an experimental method with a completely randomized design, where the treatment was a variation of soybean soaking time for 8 hours, 12 hours, and 16 hours. Data were obtained through organoleptic tests using a hedonic scale on the taste and texture of mendoan tempeh, involving untrained panelists, then analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) with the help of SPSS software. The results of the study showed that variations in soybean soaking time had a significant effect on the quality of taste and texture of tempeh as a mendoan ingredient. The 12-hour soaking time produced the highest preference value for both sensory parameters compared to other treatments. The conclusion of this study confirms that controlling the soaking time of soybeans is a crucial initial stage in producing optimal quality tempeh for processed mendoan, and has the potential to become a technical reference for traditional food business actors in improving product quality.

Abstract

The level of employees' intention to leave their jobs is a crucial issue that can threaten the operational sustainability and productivity efficiency of the organization. The purpose of this study is to assess how convenience store employees' intention to leave their jobs is affected by work-related stress, motivation, and job satisfaction. Data was collected from 100 respondents selected using Convenience Sampling technique with a Likert scale-based questionnaire using quantitative techniques and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings show that job stress has a negative but insignificant impact on turnover intention. Job satisfaction and work motivation variables have a significant and negative impact on turnover intention, indicating the significance of the role of extrinsic and intrinsic factors in reducing the tendency of employees to leave an organization. This research emphasizes the need for a holistic managerial approach that addresses workplace stress, increases motivation with performance-based incentives, and improves job satisfaction with competitive pay and a positive work atmosphere. These results provide strategic direction for companies to create policies that improve productivity, operational efficiency and staff retention in the long run.

Abstract

Studying the history of Islam in Indonesia is an interesting topic of research and study. However, it is not easy to trace the history of the entry of Islam into the archipelago. There is a lot of literature discussing the history of Islam in Indonesia. However, some information about the history of Islam in Indonesia is still based on the literature of Western scholars. Of course, this information still raises questions and doubts among various parties, especially among Islamic historians. For this reason, this paper will discuss further the theory of the entry of Islam in Indonesia, the strategy of spreading Islam in Indonesia, and Islamic education in the early days in Aceh Darussalam. The results of this study indicate that the theory of the arrival of Islam in the archipelago is based on its place of origin, namely the Arabic theory, the Chinese theory, the Persian theory, the Indian theory and the Turkish theory. The spread of Islam in Indonesia was mostly carried out through trade, preaching, marriage, education, and the Islamization of culture. In Aceh, most of the ulama are graduates of Islamic boarding schools. Acehnese society is strongly influenced by religious institutions that function as social controllers. Religious institutions such as Islamic boarding schools are places of education to form noble morals. The values and attitudes of the Acehnese people reflect Islamic character in almost all aspects. Those who became militant clerics were born through dayah education, and they were able to lead the community towards religious deepening and the process of Islamization. At that time, the government institutions responsible for education and science in Aceh were Balai Seutia Hukama, Balai Seutia Ulama, and Balai Jamaah Himpunan Ulama.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Balance of Payments and Balance of Trade of Indonesia from the perspective of Islamic Economics. The balance of payments is one of the important instruments in a country's economy that reflects international economic relations, while the balance of trade reflects the difference between exports and imports of goods. In the perspective of Islamic Economics, both balances must pay attention to the principles of justice and balance, where foreign transactions are carried out in a way that does not harm either party. This study adopts a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, using secondary data in the form of reports on the balance of payments and trade of Indonesia and references related to Islamic Economics. The results of the study indicate that the application of Islamic economic principles in the management of Indonesia's balance of trade and payments can improve economic balance and reduce dependence on foreign debt.

Abstract

The Simpang Elak area, Blang Mangat District, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh, is facing a chronic drainage crisis that disrupts its vital function as an alternative transportation route. The existing conventional drainage system has proven to be non-adaptive to local environmental characteristics and increasingly intense extreme rainfall patterns due to climate change, particularly problems caused by vegetation, waste, and soil that block nearly the entire drainage network. This study analyzes drainage system blockage issues in the Simpang Elak area, Blang Mangat, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh. The objective of the research is to identify the patterns, impacts, and mechanisms of multiple blockages that disrupt drainage performance. The method employed is direct field-based observational research conducted over eight weeks (November–December 2025) at five strategic observation points, focusing on documenting the types, locations, and frequency of blockages caused by vegetation, waste, and sedimentation. The results reveal three dominant blockage patterns: (1) invasive vegetation (particularly Pennisetum purpureum and Eichhornia crassipes) affecting 65% of observation points and reducing drainage capacity by 40–60%; (2) rapid accumulation of plastic waste at 85% of drainage inlets; and (3) soil and construction material sedimentation accumulating at a rate of 20–35 cm per month. The interaction of these three factors creates a synergistic effect that progressively exacerbates capacity reduction by up to 40–60% within 6–8 weeks, far exceeding the cumulative impact of each individual factor. This study concludes that the drainage system at the research site operates optimally for less than 25% of the conventional maintenance cycle (3–4 months). Reactive maintenance strategies and non-adaptive infrastructure design have been proven ineffective.

Abstract

Technological advancement and contemporary lifestyle changes have influenced the way young people practice religious life, particularly within the pesantren (Islamic boarding school) environment. This study aims to examine the role of tabligh communication in shaping and transforming the religious attitudes of santri (students). The research employs a qualitative method, collecting data through interviews, observations, and document analysis, which are then analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that tabligh communication employing dialogical approaches, exemplary conduct by ustadz, and routine worship practices successfully enhances religious understanding and fosters strong Islamic character. In conclusion, tabligh communication significantly contributes to strengthening spiritual commitment and developing sustainable religious behavior in pesantren, thereby helping to preserve the faith of the younger Muslim generation.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the use of Al-Mubalaghah in Surah Al-Zalzalah from the perspective of the science of badi'. Al-Mubalaghah, as one of the rhetorical styles in the Qur'an, is used to emphasize certain meanings by exaggerating or magnifying the state being described. This study employs a qualitative research methodology, where the data are obtained through a literature review followed by a descriptive analysis method, which involves presenting or explaining facts clearly and in detail, followed by further analysis. The analysis results indicate that in Surah Al-Zalzalah, there are two types of Al-Mubalaghah found in four verses: the type of Al-Mubalaghah called Tabligh in verses 1 and 2, and Al-Mubalaghah called Ighraq in verses 4 and 6. These rhetorical devices serve to emphasize the magnitude of the event of the Day of Judgment, illustrate the extraordinary effects of the earthquake that shakes the world, and create a strong dramatic impression of the event. Thus, this study provides a deeper understanding of the rhetorical techniques used in the Qur'an and their application in the interpretation of badi' science.

Abstract

Bureaucratic reform is an effort of renewal and fundamental change in the system of governance aimed at creating governance that is more effective, efficient, transparent, and oriented toward public service. However, in recent years, the implementation of bureaucratic reform at the local level has shown that the structuring of governmental institutions still requires significant improvement, indicating the need for a paradigm shift in governance. This study aims to identify the implementation of bureaucratic reform in optimizing the performance of public services in Buyut Village, Gunung Jati Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency. This research employs a descriptive empirical method with a qualitative approach. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, systematic data reading, and conclusion drawing. The theoretical framework refers to public policy theory with the concept of optimization as proposed by Sirigoringo (2005), which includes elements of objectives, decision alternatives, and constraining resources. The results indicate that the performance of public services in Buyut Village, Gunung Jati Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency has not yet been optimal. Although certain achievements have been made in service delivery, there are still indicators that require optimization, particularly in the aspect of constraining resources. This condition is reflected in complaints from some residents of Buyut Village regarding the lack of adequate facilities, infrastructure, and service-supporting amenities to facilitate village government services to the community. Based on these findings, efforts to optimize bureaucratic reform at the village level should prioritize the provision of adequate facilities, infrastructure, and supporting resources before bureaucratic reform policies are implemented. Thus, bureaucratic reform is expected to improve the quality of public services and provide tangible benefits for rural communities while fostering public trust in government officials. Furthermore, community involvement and the enhancement of bureaucratic capacity are essential elements to ensure the sustainability of the bureaucratic reform agenda at the village governance level.
