Abstract

Stunting remains a crucial public health issue in Indonesia. This condition of impaired growth is primarily triggered by chronic malnutrition, especially during the first 1,000 days of life (HPK). The impacts of stunting are irreversible on children's growth and cognitive development. Although the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia decreased to 21.6% in 2022, this figure is still far from the national target of 14% by 2024. One of the strategies to address stunting is through the provision of protein- rich supplementary foods, such as mackerel. This study aimed to design and modify a functional food product named "Nugget Gemarikan". The method employed was an experimental study with a randomized block design, involving four treatment levels of mackerel addition: P1 (0%), P2 (16.7%), P3 (33.3%), and P4 (50%). Organoleptic testing was conducted by 30 trained panelists to assess subjective quality (taste, color, aroma, and texture) using hedonic and numeric tests. The data were then analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that Nugget Gemarikan with 50% mackerel addition (P4) had the highest nutritional value, specifically 349.4 kcal of energy and 14.3 grams of protein per serving. Nevertheless, panelists overall preferred the formulation with 33.3% mackerel addition (P3). ANOVA testing revealed a significant difference in taste, texture, and aroma across treatments (p-value < 0.05), except for the color aspect (p-value > 0.05). This Nugget Gemarikan has the potential to be a balanced, nutritious supplementary food that helps meet the daily needs of toddlers and prevent stunting.

Abstract

The provision of complementary feeding (MP-ASI) before infants reach six months of age remains common in the community, despite its potential risks, including health problems such as diarrhea, impaired growth and development, and decreased infant immunity. In the working area of Fajar Mulya Public Health Center, the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding is relatively low, while the prevalence of early complementary feeding remains high. This study aimed to identify factors associated with early complementary feeding in infants under six months of age in the working area of Fajar Mulya Public Health Center of Pringsewu Regency. This research employed an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 216 respondents, from which 76 samples were selected using purposive sampling in the working area of Fajar Mulya Public Health Center of Pringsewu Regency on May 7th, 2025. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman test. The results showed a significant relationship between maternal attitude (p = 0.000 < 0.05), occupation (p = 0.000 < 0.05), and husband’s support (p = 0.000 < 0.05) with early complementary feeding in infants under six months of age in the working area of Fajar Mulya Public Health Center of Pringsewu Regency. This study suggests that the public health center should conduct regular health education programs in collaboration with its nutrition team. By providing routine counseling, it is expected that maternal motivation for early complementary feeding can be reduced.

Abstract

Hypertension is recognized as a leading contributor to cardiovascular diseases and is frequently labeled a "silent killer" due to its lack of clear symptoms, despite its significant impact on global illness and death rates.  This research aimed to evaluate the influence of such exercise on blood pressure in adults diagnosed with hypertension. A pre-experimental design utilizing a one-group pretest–posttest method was applied, involving 43 participants selected via purposive sampling based on set inclusion criteria. The data were examined using the Shapiro–Wilk test for normality and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test for hypothesis testing. Findings revealed that prior to the intervention, the median systolic pressure was 148 mmHg, and the median diastolic pressure stood at 88 mmHg. Following the exercise intervention, the systolic median dropped to 141.75 mmHg and the diastolic to 84 mmHg. Statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon test returned a p-value of 0.000 (below 0.05) for both measures, indicating a statistically significant change post-intervention. These outcomes demonstrate that hypertension exercise can be an effective method for lowering blood pressure in hypertensive adults. The results support the broader adoption of non-drug-based strategies in communities to help manage and control hypertension.

Abstract

Administrative services are a crucial component of the healthcare system, especially for patients using Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (BPJS). Despite the implementation of digital tools such as the Mobile JKN application, many patients still report complaints related to long waiting times, unclear procedures, and a lack of empathy and responsiveness from administrative staff. This study aims to explore the experiences of BPJS patients regarding administrative services at Jakarta Islamic Hospital Sukapura, Kelapa Gading. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive phenomenological method. Participants were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria such as age (20–60 years), being a current inpatient or outpatient, and being able to communicate effectively. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. The study identified two main themes: responsiveness of administrative staff and empathy during service delivery. Most participants perceived administrative services as inefficient, citing long waiting times, insufficient information, and unresponsive staff when addressing patient concerns. Additionally, the level of empathy demonstrated by staff was considered inadequate, as some patients felt misunderstood or unheard. The study recommends enhancing staff training, improving the hospital’s information systems, and conducting regular evaluations of service quality. Increasing responsiveness and empathy is expected to foster a more positive experience for BPJS patients and contribute to greater patient satisfaction

Abstract

The implementation of Hospital Management Information Systems (SIMRS) is crucial in enhancing efficiency, security, and the overall quality of radiology services. However, the integration between Radiology Information System (RIS), Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), and Electronic Medical Records (EMR), particularly through standards such as HL7 and DICOM remains a challenge in many hospitals, including “Hospital X” Jakarta. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of SIMRS in the radiology department using the PIECES framework (Performance, Information & Data, Economy, Control & Security, Efficiency, and Service). A qualitative case study approach was applied, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving 15 informants from different professional categories within the radiology unit. Thematic analysis was conducted with coding guided by the PIECES framework. Findings reveal that SIMRS supports improvements in Information & Data management, operational Economy, and Control & Security, particularly in reducing paper-based processes and improving access to digital records. Nevertheless, issues persist in Performance, Efficiency, and Service, such as frequent network latency, duplication in EMR entries, and limited accessibility of PACS outside designated terminals. Based on these results, it is recommended that “Hospital X” not only conduct regular monitoring of hardware capacity and network stability, but also adopt strategic measures, including policy development toward filmless radiology, strengthening interoperability across RIS–PACS–EMR systems, and implementing more rigorous data security audits.

Abstract

The performance of administrative staff plays a vital role in supporting the smooth delivery of healthcare services in hospitals. Poorly managed workloads can decrease both performance and work efficiency. This study aims to determine the influence of workload on the performance of administrative staff at Husada Hospital in 2025. The research employed a quantitative-descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. Workload was divided into two categories: internal factors (age, gender, nutritional status, health condition, motivation, trust, and job satisfaction) and external factors (job tasks, work organization, and work environment). A total of 53 respondents were selected using the total sampling technique. Data were collected using a Likert-scale-based questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS with multiple linear regression. The analysis showed that most variables had no significant effect on performance, except for four: job trust (p = 0.004), job satisfaction (p = 0.024), work organization (p = 0.002), and work environment (p = 0.010). Job trust and work organization had a positive effect on performance, while job satisfaction had a negative effect. The study concludes that psychological factors and work systems are more influential in determining performance than physical workload. It is recommended that hospital management strengthen organizational structure, create a supportive work environment, and proportionally enhance trust and job satisfaction to maintain optimal staff performance.

Abstract

In the increasingly digital era, the use of social media has become an important strategy in hospital marketing communications. Instagram, as a popular platform, is used by various hospitals to build a presence online and reach a wider audience. This study examines the influence of social media marketing dimensions through Instagram on patient decisions in choosing Husada Hospital as a healthcare provider, especially amidst the dynamics of post-pandemic visits and the digital transformation of hospital services. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social media marketing dimensions on Instagram and patient decisions in choosing a hospital. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design involving 67 respondents. Data analysis was conducted univariately and used the Spearman test to examine the correlation between variables. The results showed a significant relationship between social media marketing dimensions and patient decisions. Husada Hospital has been actively using Instagram since 2018. Based on data, the number of followers in January-February reached 8,069 followers. And in March, followers increased to 8,161 followers. The social media marketing dimensions that most influence purchasing decisions are collaboration (r = 0.694), connection (r = 0.654), communication (r = 0.575), and context (r = 0.536). The most influential social media marketing dimension is collaboration. Active collaboration between Husada Hospital and influencers or medical personnel through Instagram has been proven to strengthen the hospital's image and encourage patient decisions. Therefore, it is recommended that Husada Hospital can further introduce and develop its official Instagram account @rs_husada strategically, through collaborative, educational, and interactive content to increase patient engagement and expand the hospital's digital marketing reach.
