Abstract

This article examines the barriers to inheritance in the context of the science of roses, with a specific focus on the impact of religious differences between heirs. Utilizing a normative juridical approach and employing library research, the study analyzes Islamic law's position on non-Muslim heirs' right to inherit property from Muslim heirs. The research findings reveal that Islamic law emphasizes the principle that non-Muslim heirs are generally excluded from inheriting assets as outlined in the Qur'an, Hadith, and Compilation of Islamic Law. Furthermore, the article explores a case study decision by the East Jakarta Religious Court (case number 1578/PDT.G/2010/PA. JT) that upheld the exclusion of non-Muslim heirs based on formal legal provisions, including the principle of Islamic personality and the nebis in idem case. The judge's decision has raised normative concerns as it appears to contradict the rules stated in the religious texts. The implications of this study shed light on the intersection of religious differences and inheritance rights within the Islamic legal framework.

Abstract

Evaluation plays an enormous role in the teaching and learning process. Being aware of this, both China and Tanzania use formative assessment to meet the ‎requirements of competence-based curricula especially in mathematics at primary school level. ‎Therefore, the purpose of this study was to look into the formative assessment practices, nature, ‎challenges in mathematics used by Chinese and Tanzanian primary schools. This report used ‎documentary analysis to consult articles, dissertations, and books found in different electronic ‎journals such as ERIC and Science Direct and deem them to have suitable information for the ‎study. The report found that evaluation methods such as test, assignments, homework, and ‎projects are common in both countries. Moreover, some dissimilar is some form of assessment ‎including terminal test and monthly test which are common in Tanzania. Furthermore, bustling ‎classes, heavy teaching loads, and a lack of clarity on the formative assessment implementation ‎strategies have similarly contributed to the ineffective formative assessment in both countries. ‎Further, the researcher recommends the recruitment of mathematics teachers and the provision of ‎in-service and pre-service training to the teachers to reduce ineffectiveness in the implementation ‎of formative assessment in Chinese and Tanzanian primary schools.‎

Abstract

This study investigates the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in Afghanistan's agricultural sector. Using a mixed methods approach comprising surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with 200 participants across various regions the research assesses awareness, adoption, and perceived value of IoT among Afghan farmers. Findings show that while 60% of respondents were aware of IoT, only 30% had adopted such technologies. Key barriers include inadequate infrastructure, high costs, and limited technical expertise. Social factors—such as digital illiteracy and unequal access to technology—further restrict uptake, especially in marginalized rural communities. Despite these constraints, significant opportunities exist in areas like smart irrigation, crop health monitoring, and data-driven farming. These technologies hold promises for enhancing efficiency and sustainability while promoting digital inclusion and reducing regional disparities. The study underscores the need for targeted investment in infrastructure, training, and awareness to enable broader adoption. Its insights are critical for policymakers and stakeholders seeking to advance inclusive, technology-driven agricultural development in Afghanistan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the revitalization program of Pasar Induk Cibitung by applying Kadarman’s (2001) control theory, which includes three essential functions: setting standards, measuring performance, and correcting deviations. The research addresses emerging problems in the cooperation between the regional government and private partner, particularly delays in project completion and public service delivery. A qualitative descriptive method was used, involving in-depth interviews, documentation review, and literature analysis. The study reveals that the set standards in physical development, service management, and trader accommodation have not been met. Performance measurements indicate inconsistencies in target achievements and low satisfaction among market users. Moreover, the lack of responsive corrective actions has prolonged unresolved issues, leading to operational stagnation and declining stakeholder trust. The findings underscore the importance of effective supervision mechanisms and institutional commitment to ensure the revitalization goals serve the public interest. This study contributes to improving project oversight practices and informing policy development in the context of public-private partnerships.

Abstract

This study analyzes the application of the 12 basic principles of animation in the Indonesian 2D animated short film Prognosis. Without using dialogue, the film relies entirely on visual elements to construct an emotionally rich narrative between a child and his father. Through qualitative analysis, this research identifies how animation principles such as Squash and Stretch, Anticipation, Staging, and Timing are employed to evoke empathy, tension, and resolution. The study also explores how these principles are contextualized within Indonesian cultural narratives, especially those concerning familial hierarchy, emotional restraint, and symbolic representations of motherhood and protection. The findings reveal that the animation not only demonstrates technical mastery but also conveys local values through universally resonant visual storytelling. This contributes to broader discussions on how animation serves as a medium for expressing social meaning and emotional realism.

Abstract

This study investigates how film tourism and transmedia storytelling contribute to meaningful and memorable cultural experiences in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Using a qualitative design, 25 interviews with filmmakers, tourism officials, and film tourists were analyzed with thematic coding in NVivo 14. Three core themes emerged: immersive experience, visual appreciation, and cultural enrichment. NVivo used to organize interview transcripts, identify themes, and cross-analyze stakeholders' responses. This study finds that transmedia storytelling—through social media, cinematic landscapes, and on-site interpretation—amplifies audience engagement with cultural heritage. The convergence of business storytelling and art history presents both challenges and opportunities. NVivo analysis allowed for deeper insight into how location-based storytelling is processed cognitively and emotionally by audiences, thus highlighting film's capacity as an educational and promotional tool in heritage tourism. The assessment concludes that film tourism combined with transmedia storytelling is an effective strategy for promoting destination recognition and preserving local heritage by offering immersive, culturally rich, and engaging tourism experiences through cinematic narratives, interactive media, and collaborative storytelling practices.

Abstract

This study examines the strategic role of the housekeeping department in increasing room occupancy at Parlezo Hotel, Labuan Bajo. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and internal occupancy reports from 2023–2024. Fieldwork was conducted over a two-month period (November–December 2024) and involved five informants, including one housekeeping supervisor and four housekeeping staff. The findings reveal that personalized services—such as towel art for returning guests, birthday surprises, and extra amenities for long-stay visitors—play a key role in enhancing guest satisfaction and loyalty. Infrastructural limitations, such as the absence of an elevator, are mitigated through empathetic service and real-time room coordination using GuestPro, a cloud-based Property Management System (PMS). Operational efficiency is further supported by structured task delegation, regular briefings, quality assurance routines, and responsive communication. Notably, the occupancy rate increased by 5.82% from 2023 to 2024, with a two-year average of 77.19%, reflecting the effectiveness of targeted housekeeping strategies. The study concludes that a well-trained and strategically coordinated housekeeping team is instrumental in maintaining service excellence and improving hotel performance in a competitive tourism environment.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of E-Service Quality and Internet Banking Features in influencing reuse decisions, with customer satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. The research focuses on Internet Banking users of HSBC Indonesia, Tomang Branch. A quantitative approach was employed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Squares (PLS). A total of 200 respondents were selected using non-probability sampling and responded to a Likert-scale-based questionnaire. The results indicate that both E-Service Quality and Internet Banking Features do not have a direct significant effect on reuse decisions. However, they significantly influence customer satisfaction, which in turn has a strong direct impact on reuse decisions. Furthermore, customer satisfaction effectively mediates the relationship between E-Service Quality and Internet Banking Features on reuse intention. The findings suggest that enhancing privacy protection, ease of access, and interface design can improve customer satisfaction and drive customer loyalty in digital banking. The study is limited by its single institution focus and geographic scope, which may affect the generalizability of the findings. Future research is encouraged to include multiple banks and broader regional contexts to validate these results.

Abstract

This study investigates the Mataano Mambio harvest ritual practiced by the Laporo ethnic community in Kombeli Subdistrict, Buton Regency, focusing on its ritual structure, symbolic meanings, and cultural significance. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive design, employing in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation conducted between January and March 2024. A total of 12 informants were selected using snowball sampling. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Findings reveal that Mataano Mambio unfolds through a structured series of ritual events: beginning with Piharoaano Galampa (customary deliberation), followed by Bata Nda’a and Linda dances, Sungkuano Sadakaa (ritual prayer), Sumbele’a Bembe (goat sacrifice), the central Mataano Mambio ceremony, and concluding with Manca and Panguncei performances. Each element embodies symbolic meanings rooted in Laporo cosmology—such as humility, interdependence, ancestral reverence, and ethical trade. Interpreted through the lenses of cultural resilience theory, symbolic anthropology, and glocalization, the ritual functions as a living system of knowledge transmission and socio-ecological adaptation. The study contributes to cultural studies by demonstrating how indigenous rituals operate not only as cultural heritage but also as dynamic frameworks for sustaining identity, resilience, and collective memory amid social change.
