Abstract

This study aims to examine sociology teachers’ initiatives in implementing contextual and meaningful learning at the senior high school level. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through classroom observations and in-depth interviews with sociology teachers in Bandung and Cimahi. The findings reveal four key themes: differentiated instruction, inclusive classroom management, contextual transformation of sociological concepts, and creative use of media and methods. Teachers demonstrated sensitivity to students’ social backgrounds, interests, and learning stages, linking abstract theories to current social issues and real-life experiences. These practices fostered participatory learning, critical reflection, and deeper student engagement. The study underscores the essential role of teachers in creating inclusive and transformative learning spaces where sociology is not only taught but lived.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the improvement of scientific literacy in millennial students during physics learning through the implementation of the blended learning model. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group was used. The experimental class applied the blended learning model, while the control class used conventional learning methods. Data were collected through scientific literacy tests administered as pretests and posttests, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and t-tests to examine the significance of differences between the two groups. The results indicate a significant difference in posttest scientific literacy scores between the experimental and control classes. The average posttest score in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, suggesting that the blended learning model was more effective in enhancing students' scientific literacy. The t-test yielded a t-count of 2.053, which was greater than the t-table value of 1.996, with a significance level of 0.05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the blended learning model is more effective in improving the scientific literacy of millennial students, particularly in physics education. Future research could explore further optimization of blended learning implementation to enhance various aspects of scientific literacy.

Abstract

This research examines the impact of financial knowledge and financial inclusion on the financial behavior of MSME actors in Bangkalan Regency. Using a quantitative approach, the study analyzes data from 80 MSME entrepreneurs selected through purposive sampling. The primary data was collected via structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression techniques. The findings reveal that both financial knowledge and financial inclusion significantly influence the financial behavior of MSMEs in the region. This study contributes to the literature by addressing the gap in research on financial behavior among MSMEs in developing regions, particularly in Bangkalan. It combines financial knowledge and financial inclusion to provide a comprehensive understanding of financial behavior in this context. The study extends the behavioral finance framework and offers practical insights for policymakers and financial service providers to design inclusive financial policies and educational programs aimed at improving MSME financial practices. Theoretically, it enhances the understanding of financial behavior in rural MSME contexts, while practically calling for integrated policies that combine financial education with better access to financial services.

Abstract

This study examines the effective differences between the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and conventional learning in improving mathematics outcomes for integer multiplication and division. A quasi-experimental design with a Post-test Control Group Design was employed, involving 32 third-grade students from SDN 4 Wameo Baubau, divided into experimental (RME) and control (conventional) groups. Data was collected through a validated 10-item essay test and analyzed using an Independent Sample T-Test with SPSS. Key findings: (1) The experimental group’s average score (89.38) was significantly higher than the control group’s (55.94); (2) Hypothesis testing yielded t-value = -9.223 and sig. 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming RME’s superiority. These results advocate for RME as an alternative approach to elementary mathematics learning, particularly for context-oriented topics.

Abstract

This study explores women's citizenship practices and their role in shaping social power dynamics within community-based development programs in Blitar Regency, East Java. Focusing on the KOTAKU (City Without Slums) and Desa/Kelurahan Berseri (Radiant Village) programs, the research examines how women contribute to inclusive and sustainable development through active participation in both planning and implementation stages. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was gathered through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that women participated in the rembug (community consultation) stage, voicing needs and shaping development priorities. This early engagement enabled more inclusive and representative decision-making. During program implementation, women provided vital logistical support, such as preparing meals and refreshments for workers, demonstrating care, ownership, and solidarity. These roles, though often perceived as informal, were integral to program success and reflect meaningful expressions of civic agency. The study argues that recognizing women’s contributions—both strategic and supportive—is essential to redistributing social power and fostering gender equity. By highlighting women’s active citizenship, this research contributes to a deeper understanding of how gender-inclusive development initiatives can transform community structures and promote more equitable and democratic outcomes.

Abstract

The Indonesian capital market has experienced significant growth, marked by increasing retail investor participation—especially during the pandemic. Amid these dynamics, technical analysis has become a popular approach to investment decision-making, as it provides market signals based on historical price data. This study aims to analyze the impact of two technical indicators, Candlestick Charts and Stochastic Oscillator, on stock investment interest, with a case study on PT Akasha Wira Internasional Tbk listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, data were collected via questionnaires distributed to 50 retail investors and analyzed through multiple linear regression, preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that both Candlestick Charts and Stochastic Oscillator have a positive and significant influence on investment interest, both partially and simultaneously. The Candlestick variable yielded a significance value of 0.042, while the Stochastic Oscillator demonstrated a stronger effect with significance < 0.001. Together, these indicators explain 44.7% of the variation in investment interest (*R² = 0.447*). These findings suggest that technical indicators can enhance investor confidence and attractiveness in making investment decisions. The study recommends improving retail investor education on technical analysis to promote literacy and rational, analysis-based investment participation.

Abstract

This study explores the extent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage among students and its implications for academic ethics, with a specific focus on STKIP DDI Pinrang. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires distributed to 40 students, while qualitative insights were gathered via interviews with selected respondents. The findings indicate that students’ AI usage is very high (mean score: 4.45), particularly through tools such as ChatGPT, Grammarly, and Quillbot. However, their ethical awareness remains moderate, both in terms of understanding academic ethics (3.1562) and awareness of the ethical implications of AI use (3.04). Correlation analysis reveals a negative relationship between the intensity of AI usage and students' ethical perceptions. Thematic analysis of interviews confirms that students tend to use AI as a substitute rather than a support, and lack institutional guidance on its ethical boundaries. These findings highlight a critical gap between technological proficiency and ethical literacy. The study recommends integrating digital ethics education across curricula and establishing clear institutional policies to ensure responsible AI use in academic settings.

Abstract

The rise of online loans and PayLater services in Indonesia has raised concerns about financial vulnerability, especially among middle-income earners. This study aims to examine the relationship between financial behavior, financial stress, and the risk of being entangled in online lending. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents, predominantly teachers aged 31–45 with bachelor’s degrees. The analysis reveals a significant inverse relationship between financial behavior and financial stress, as well as between financial behavior and susceptibility to online loans. Key indicators such as budgeting, saving habits, and financial control were found to influence outcomes. Despite their stable income and educational background, many respondents lacked essential financial practices such as recording income and expenses, creating budgets, and building emergency funds. This highlights a behavioral gap between financial knowledge and application. The findings emphasize the need for targeted financial literacy programs that promote not only knowledge but also behavioral change. Strengthening responsible financial habits is essential to improving financial resilience and reducing dependence on high-risk digital credit platforms.

Abstract

This study analyzes the practice of kiosk rental (ijārah) in Kalangan Market, Mendahara Subdistrict, Tanjung Jabung Timur Regency, from the perspectives of Islamic law and positive legal regulations. Field observations show that rental transactions are conducted verbally without written contracts, with monthly cash payments of IDR 30,000. Most traders (approximately 70%) fail to pay on time, and the absence of strict sanctions indicates a weak commitment to the agreed contract. In Islamic law, a valid ijārah contract requires clarity regarding the rental object, the benefit obtained, the agreed compensation (ujrah), and a valid offer and acceptance (ijab and qabul). The current practice poses risks of injustice and imbalances in the rights and obligations between tenants and market managers. Therefore, reforming the rental system based on the principles of justice, clarity, and accountability, as mandated in Islamic commercial jurisprudence (muʿāmalah) and positive law, is essential for establishing a professional, transparent, and sustainable market governance framework.
