Abstract

This study examines the impact of digital human resource management (HRM) quality on customer satisfaction, with service quality acting as a mediating variable, within Indonesia’s e-commerce landscape. Employing a quantitative approach and structural equation modeling (SEM), data were collected from 300 Shopee users across multiple regions. The results indicate that digital HRM quality significantly influences customer satisfaction (β = 0.387, p < 0.001), with employee digital competence emerging as the most influential indicator. Moreover, service quality partially mediates this relationship, suggesting that internal HRM capabilities shape external consumer perceptions and experiences. The findings support the relevance of theoretical models such as the Resource-Based View (RBV), Service-Dominant Logic (SDL), and digital transformation theory in the Southeast Asian context. This study underscores the strategic value of human capital in digital markets and highlights the importance of continuous investment in employee digital skills. Practical implications are provided for e-commerce firms aiming to align HRM strategies with customer experience management to sustain competitiveness in dynamic digital environments.

Abstract

Waste management is a critical challenge in Svay Rieng Municipality, Cambodia, where rapid industrialization and population growth have intensified the problem of uncollected waste. Although national strategies such as the Circular Strategy in Environment Sector 2023–2028 have been introduced, implementation remains limited due to inadequate infrastructure, a small waste collection fleet, weak community participation, and poor coordination among stakeholders. This study employed a qualitative descriptive–interpretive design using a multiple case study approach in Chong Prek and Roup Kor villages. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with twelve key informants, and document analysis, and were validated using triangulation across sources, methods, and investigators. Analysis was guided by the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model, focusing on the regulatory, facilitative, and dynamizing roles of local authorities. The findings indicate that while regulations exist, enforcement is weak, infrastructure development is delayed by land allocation issues, and outreach efforts are largely reactive. Community engagement remains limited, with participation often triggered only by external pressure or special events. The study concludes that stronger regulatory enforcement, timely infrastructure provision, continuous community education, and institutionalized multi-stakeholder collaboration are essential for advancing a more effective and sustainable waste management system in Svay Rieng Municipality.

Abstract

Effective management of inactive public records is vital for accountability, institutional memory, and service efficiency, particularly at the sub-district level. Many local governments in Indonesia, including Kecamatan Kiaracondong, Bandung City, face systemic challenges due to limited infrastructure, weak policy enforcement, and low organizational commitment. This study examines existing practices and proposes context-sensitive innovations for improving records management as part of bureaucratic reform. A five-month fieldwork employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The analysis followed Miles and Huberman’s interactive model consisting of reduction, display, and verification. The study found that archival practices remain manual, fragmented, and dependent on informal staff knowledge, leading to inefficiency and data vulnerability. Barriers include inadequate storage, absence of trained archival staff, lack of standardized procedures, and the perception of archiving as a secondary task. Despite these challenges, opportunities for reform exist. Low-cost interventions such as spreadsheet-based tracking, standardized manual classification, and internal SOPs, supported by leadership commitment and staff training, provide entry points for gradual transformation. This study contributes by positioning records management as a core element of bureaucratic reform, showing that transformation can begin with incremental, context-specific innovations.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of relational bonding and relationship satisfaction on long-term relationships in the food and beverage franchise sector in Purwokerto, Indonesia. Relational bonding is defined through three dimensions: social, financial, and structural bonding. A survey of 113 franchise business owners was conducted using non-probability sampling, and the data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through AMOS. The findings show that all three dimensions of relational bonding significantly influence both relationship satisfaction and long-term relationships. Furthermore, relationship satisfaction plays a mediating role in sustaining franchise partnerships. These results contribute to franchise research by confirming the importance of relationship marketing and exchange-based perspectives, while offering practical implications for franchisors to build stronger interpersonal ties, provide fair financial incentives, and deliver reliable service support. The study is limited to one sector and region, and future research should explore other sectors and broader contexts to validate these findings.

Abstract

This study investigated challenges impeding parental involvement in implementing the Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) in Tanga, Tanzania. Purposive sampling used to recruit six participants in interviews which were conducted in Kiswahili language. The obtained data were translated to English language and were analyzed by using thematic analysis. It was found that, despite of, recent improvements in PI, there have been persistent factors contribute to ineffective PI. The challenges includes; limited parental awareness, conflicting work schedules, economic constraints, perceived incompetence, and negligence. To enhance parental involvement, the study recommends that, with fee-free education initiatives, the government should consider both curricular and extracurricular programs which are the key to effective PI in CBC implementation. Beside, parents and school should consider the presence of dual responsibilities of parents in curriculum implementation.

Abstract

The Fatimid dynasty, known for its remarkable economic development, was one of the most prosperous periods in Islamic history. At its zenith, the dynasty enjoyed immense wealth, resulting in widespread prosperity among its citizens. The state’s revenues were primarily derived from two sources: community contributions and government enterprises. Community revenues included various forms of taxation such as al-iqtha', al-jizya, zakat, excise, al-ahbas, al-mawarits al-hasyriyyah, and al-amwal al-mashadirah. Government enterprises contributed through income from rentals of hotels and shops, as well as profits from trade, industry, and other state-owned economic sectors. The Fatimids invested significantly in diverse economic areas such as agriculture—cultivating wheat, sugarcane, and fruits with an advanced irrigation system; crafts—manufacturing ships, weapons, textiles, and household items; and both domestic and international trade. These economic advancements played a crucial role in maintaining the dynasty’s power for over 250 years (297-567 H / 909-1171 AD). This study provides a comprehensive examination of the Fatimids’ economic policies and strategies, highlighting their contributions to Islamic economic thought and their impact on subsequent developments in the region.
