Abstract

The High Scope learning model is an approach that emphasizes active learning in early childhood, where they are directly involved in exploration, interaction, and decision-making. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the High Scope model in supporting early childhood development in various aspects, including cognitive, social, emotional, and motoric. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various sources related to the implementation of this model. The results of the study indicate that High Scope, through the Plan-Do-Review strategy, can improve children's independence, critical thinking skills, and social abilities. In addition, long-term research reveals that this model has a positive impact on academic success, job opportunities, and individual well-being in the future. The main advantage of this approach is its flexibility, which allows adaptation to various cultures and local needs without changing its basic principles. The contribution of this study is to provide deeper insight into the implementation of the High Scope model and its relevance in the early childhood education system in Indonesia. By actively involving children, teachers, and parents in the learning process, this model is able to create a conducive learning environment for the development of children's skills and character from an early age.   ABSTRAK  Model pembelajaran High Scope merupakan pendekatan yang menekankan pembelajaran aktif pada anak usia dini, di mana mereka terlibat langsung dalam eksplorasi, interaksi, serta pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model High Scope dalam mendukung perkembangan anak usia dini di berbagai aspek, termasuk kognitif, sosial, emosional, dan motorik. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber terkait implementasi model ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa High Scope, melalui strategi Plan-Do-Review, dapat meningkatkan kemandirian, keterampilan berpikir kritis, serta kemampuan sosial anak. Selain itu, penelitian jangka panjang mengungkapkan bahwa model ini berdampak positif terhadap keberhasilan akademik, peluang kerja, serta kesejahteraan individu di masa depan. Keunggulan utama dari pendekatan ini adalah fleksibilitasnya, yang memungkinkan adaptasi dengan berbagai budaya dan kebutuhan lokal tanpa mengubah prinsip dasarnya. Kontribusi penelitian ini adalah memberikan wawasan lebih dalam mengenai implementasi model High Scope serta relevansinya dalam sistem pendidikan anak usia dini di Indonesia. Dengan melibatkan anak, guru, dan orang tua secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran, model ini mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif untuk pengembangan keterampilan dan karakter anak sejak dini.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the influence of learning styles (kinesthetic, visual, and auditory) and gender on early childhood counting skills at Inpres Mannurukki Kindergarten, TKIT At-Tibyan, and Bone Kindergarten. The research method used was quantitative with an experimental design. The sample consisted of 45 students, with 17 male students and 28 female students, who were divided based on the learning styles applied. Data were collected through measurement of children's counting skills and analysed using descriptive statistical test, normality test, Levene test, and Two-Way ANOVA test. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the mean scores of the counting skills of male and female students varied depending on the learning style applied. Kinesthetic learning style gives good results for students who are actively moving, visual learning style is more effective with the use of digital media, and auditory learning style shows good results with the use of songs and rhythms. The Two-Way ANOVA test showed that there was no significant difference between learning styles on children's numeracy skills, but there was a significant difference between gender and the interaction between learning styles and gender. Boys excel in auditory and kinesthetic learning styles, while girls excel in visual learning styles. This study concludes that learning that is tailored to learning styles and gender characteristics can improve early childhood numeracy comprehension. The implication of this research is the need for a differentiated learning approach according to children's needs to maximise learning outcomes.

Abstract

Early childhood education includes children from birth to six years of age. The goal is to optimize all the child’s potential during their growth and development. One way to help early children learn to tell stories is to use picture story books. The medium of picture storybooks will be very easy to understand for children because it uses simple language and colorful pictures. The study investigated the ability of children aged five to six to tell stories using picture storybooks. The purpose of this study was to find out whether picture storybooks used by children aged 5-6 years in Madina Luhur Surabaya Kindergarten affect their ability to tell stories. This study uses a quantitative approach and uses the One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The sample used in this study was twenty children between the ages of five and six years old at Madina Luhur Kindergarten Surabaya. Tests, observations, and documentation are the methods of data collection used. Data analysis was carried out using a t-test with SPSS version 25 calculation. The results showed that the value of Sig. (2-tailed) was (0.000) with a significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the value of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05, so Ho is rejected. In Madina Luhur Kindergarten Surabaya, the storytelling ability of children aged 5-6 years is influenced by the medium of picture storybooks. ABSTRAK Pendidikan untuk anak-anak kecil meliputi usia dari lahir sampai enam tahun, dengan tujuan untuk memaksimalkan semua potensi anak selama masa pertumbuhan dan perkembangan mereka. Salah satu metode yang dapat mendukung anak kecil dalam belajar bercerita adalah melalui penggunaan buku cerita yang memiliki ilustrasi. Buku cerita bergambar sangat mudah dimengerti oleh anak-anak, sebab menggunakan bahasa yang sederhana serta gambar yang menarik dan berwarnaPenelitian ini mengeksplorasi kemampuan bercerita anak-anak berumur lima hingga enam tahun dengan menggunakan buku cerita bergambar. Tujuan dari studi ini adalah untuk menentukan apakah penggunaan buku cerita bergambar oleh anak-anak berusia 5-6 tahun di TK Madina Luhur Surabaya berpengaruh pada kemampuan bercerita mereka. Studi ini menerapkan metode kuantitatif dan memanfaatkan desain riset One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Sebanyak dua puluh anak yang berusia lima sampai enam tahun di TK Madina Luhur Surabaya menjadi sampel untuk penelitian ini. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t dan perangkat lunak SPSS versi 25. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. (2-tailed) adalah (0,000) dengan tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Dengan demikian, nilai 0,000 lebih kecil dari 0,05, yang mengakibatkan Ho ditolak. Di TK Madina Luhur Surabaya, kemampuan bercerita pada anak usia 5-6 tahun dipengaruhi oleh penggunaan media buku cerita bergambar.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the teacher’s strategies in developing gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years, the teacher’s obstacles and solutions in developing children’s gross motor skills, as well as to determine the development of children’s gross motor skills at TK Baiturrahman Jempong Barat Mataram. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and documentation. While data analysis is carried out by data reduction, data presentation, and verification. Data validity checks are carried out by observation persistence and triangulation. Based on the research results, it shows that the teacher’s strategies in developing gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Baiturrahman Jempong Barat Mataram have three kinds of strategies used, including: (1). Learning strategies through play. (2). Learning strategies through singing. (3). Group learning strategies. The obstacles faced by teachers in learning activities to develop children’s gross motor skills include: first, lack of teacher competence, second, child factors, and third, inadequate facilities. The development of children’s gross motor skills at TK Baiturrahman is said to be capable or developing well. Where children are able to imitate movements according to songs such as gymnastic movements and dance movements. In addition, children are able to walk on tiptoes. Children are able to walk forward and backward 10 steps, children are able to jump with 1 or 2 feet, children are able to combine squatting and jumping, and children are able to run fast without difficulty. This study highlights the importance of teacher creativity in selecting and modifying learning strategies to make physical activities enjoyable and suited to children’s needs. The research contributes to the development of early childhood education, particularly in the field of gross motor learning strategies based on play activities. Practically, the results of this study can serve as a reference for teachers and early childhood education institutions in designing more effective learning activities to stimulate children’s physical development while enhancing their health, self-confidence, and social skills.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi guru dalam mengembangkan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun, kendala guru dan solusi dalam mengembangkan motorik kasar anak, serta mengetahui perkembangan motorik kasar anak di TK Baiturrahman Jempong Barat Mataram. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan melalui tiga cara yaitu observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan verification. Pengecekan keabsahan data dilakukan dengan ketekunan pengamatan dan triangulasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi guru dalam mengembangkan motorik kasar anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Baiturrahman Jempong Barat Mataram memiliki tiga macam strategi yang digunakan antara lain: (1). Strategi pembelajaran melalui bermain. (2). Strategi pembelajaran melalui bernyanyi/lagu dan menari. (3). Strategi pembelajaran kelompok. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi guru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran untuk mengembangkan motorik kasar anak antara lain: pertama, Kurangnya kompetensi guru, kedua faktor anak dan ketiga, fasilitas yang kurang memadai. Perkembangan motorik kasar anak di TK Baiturrahman sudah dikatakan mampu atau berkembang dengan baik. Dimana anak mampu menirukan gerakan sesuai lagu seperti gerakan senam dan gerakan saat menari. Selain Anak mampu berjalan dengan kaki dijinjit, Anak mampu berjalan maju dan mundur, anak mampu melompat dengan 1 atau 2 kaki, Anak mampu kombinasi jongkok lalu melompat dan anak mampu berlari cepat tanpa kesulitan.  Penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya kreativitas guru dalam memilih dan memodifikasi strategi pembelajaran agar kegiatan fisik menjadi menyenangkan serta sesuai dengan kebutuhan anak. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan ilmu pendidikan anak usia dini, khususnya dalam bidang strategi pembelajaran motorik kasar berbasis aktivitas bermain. Secara praktis, hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan bagi guru dan lembaga PAUD dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran yang lebih efektif untuk menstimulasi perkembangan fisik anak sekaligus meningkatkan kesehatan, kepercayaan diri, dan kemampuan sosial mereka.

Abstract

Early childhood social and emotional development is part of the aspects of development in children that are closely related to the concept of socializing and emotions in children, it needs to be considered and directed so that its development becomes better over time and the increasing age of the child. During the age of children, especially at the age of 0 to 8 years, individuals are said to be early childhood who are vulnerable to the scope of friendship with play periods that are vulnerable to Bullying or Bullying behavior. Bullying has several forms, namely physical, verbal, and other forms. To prevent and deal with Bullying behavior in early childhood, it is necessary to contribute and coordinate between parents and teachers at school by giving children a firm understanding not to repeat it. Because Bullying behavior has a negative impact on the social-emotional development of Bullying perpetrators and victims of Bullying who are still at an early age. This research was conducted at TK Pelita Desa Ubung Kaja. This research method uses a qualitative method with the stages of observation of Bullying behavior in children and literature studies regarding Bullying cases that occur in early childhood from various scientific sources.   ABSTRAK  Perkembangan sosial emosional anak usia dini merupakan bagian dari aspek perkembangan pada anak yang erat kaitannya dengan konsep bersosialisasi dan emosi pada anak, perlu diperhatikan dan diarahkan agar perkembangannya menjadi lebih baik seiring dengan berjalannya waktu dan bertambahnya usia anak. Pada masa usia anak-anak khususnya pada usia 0 hingga 8 tahun, individu dikatakan sebagai anak usia dini yang rentan dengan ruang lingkup pertemanan dengan masa bermain yang rentan dengan perilaku Bullying atau perundungan. Bullying memiliki beberapa bentuk, yaitu fisik, verbal, dan bentuk lainnya. Untuk mencegah dan menangani perilaku Bullying pada anak usia dini, perlu adanya kontribusi dan koordinasi antara orang tua dan guru di sekolah dengan memberikan pemahaman yang tegas kepada anak untuk tidak mengulanginya. Karena perilaku Bullying memiliki dampak negatif bagi perkembangan sosial emosional pelaku Bullying dan korban Bullying yang masih berusia dini. Penelitian ini dilakukan di TK Pelita Desa Ubung Kaja. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan tahapan observasi perilaku Bullying pada anak dan studi literatur mengenai kasus Bullying yang terjadi pada anak usia dini dari berbagai sumber ilmiah.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the fine motor skills of children in group A2 BA Aisyiyah 2 Sengon, Prambanan Klaten District through sewing activities. This study used classroom action research (PTK) conducted collaboratively with the Kemmis & Mc Taggart research model. The subjects in this study were group A2 children aged 4-5 years, totaling 17 children. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation (checklist instrument) and documentation. The success criteria in this study are 76% of children in the criteria of Developing Very Well (BSB). The results in this study indicate that fine motor skills can be improved through pattern sewing activities. The increase in fine motor skills was seen in the pre-action which was 0.00%, cycle I increased to 35.29%, then in cycle II it increased again to 82.35%. So that it has met the success indicator of at least 76%. These results indicate that the action of sewing patterns can improve children's fine motor skills at BA Aisyiyah 2 Sengon, Prambanan Klaten District.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus anak kelompok A2 BA Aisyiyah 2 Sengon Kecamatan Prambanan Klaten melalui kegiatan menjahit. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian tin kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan secara kolaboratif dengan model penelitian Kemmis & Mc Taggart. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah anak-anak kelompok A2 usia 4-5 tahun yang berjumlah 17 anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi (instrumen checklist) dan dokumentasi. Kriteria keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 76% anak dalam kriteria Berkembang Sangat Baik (BSB). Hasil dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan motorik halus dapat ditingkatkan melalui kegiatan menjahit pola. Peningkatan motorik halus terlihat pada pra tindakan yaitu sebesar 0,00%, siklus I meningkat menjadi 35,29%, kemudian pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan lagi menjadi 82,35%. Sehingga telah memenuhi indikator keberhasilan yaitu minimal 76%. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa tindakan menjahit pola dapat meningkatkan keterampilan motorik halus anak di BA Aisyiyah 2 Sengon Kecamatan Prambanan Klaten.

Abstract

Revitalizing the professionalism of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers is an urgent need in order to enhance the quality of early childhood education services, particularly in rural areas such as Singajaya District, Garut Regency. ECE teachers are required not only to possess strong pedagogical competence, but also to adapt to the dynamics of the times and to understand the local characteristics of their students. This study aims to analyze strategies for revitalizing teacher professionalism as a key to improving the quality of educational services. A descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method was employed. The research subjects consisted of ECE teachers in Singajaya District. Data were collected through observation, open-ended questionnaires, focus group interviews, and document analysis. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that enhancing teacher professionalism can be achieved through locally-based training, the establishment of teacher learning communities, educative supervision, and regulatory support from local governments. Moreover, integrating local cultural values into the learning process is a critical strategy in developing reflective and adaptive educators. The study concludes that revitalizing teacher professionalism not only improves individual competencies but also strengthens a more responsive and higher-quality ECE service ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of parents in accompanying children in dealing with gadget use among Early Childhood Education (ECE) students and its impact on psychosocial development. The research employed a qualitative method with a narrative inquiry approach based on a case study at an Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institution in Parung, Bogor. The participants of this study included parents and students at PAUD Parung, Bogor. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The findings indicate that the intensity of gadget use among early childhood students in PAUD Parung, Bogor is relatively high, with usage exceeding one hour per day. The applications most frequently accessed by the children were YouTube and games. Furthermore, the study revealed that some children experienced psychosocial disturbances, such as sadness, crying, anger, drastic mood swings (e.g., sudden tantrums), social withdrawal, and a loss of interest in friends and activities they usually enjoy. The role of parents in managing gadget use among early childhood students at PAUD Parung, Bogor involved four (4) preventive efforts: Monitoring and accompanying children, Discussing the impacts and benefits of gadget use with children, Setting time limits for gadget use, and Providing alternative activities (distraction).   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran yang dilakukan orang tua dalam mendampingi anak dalam menghadapi penggunaan gawai pada Anak Usia Dini yang berdampak pada Psikososial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, pendekatan naratif inquiri berbasis studi kasus pada Lembaga Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PAUD) di Parung Bogor. Sedangkan partisipan dalam penelitian ini mencakup orang tua dan peserta didik di PAUD Parung Bogor. Data diperoleh dengan melalui observasi , tehnik wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa Penggunaan Gawai pada Anak usia dini di PAUD Parung Bogor intensitasnya tergolong cukup tinggi yaitu diatas satu jam penggunaan, aplikasi yang dibuka anak selama menggunakan gawai adalah Youtube dan Game. Selain penelitian ini juga menghasilkan temuan bahwasannya beberapa anak mengalami gangguan psikososial. Seperti sedih, menangis, marah, suasana hati berubah drastis seperti tiba-tiba mengamuk, menarik diri dari lingkungan sosial dan hilangnya minat pada teman dan kegiatan yang biasanya mereka nikmati. Peran orang tua dalam menghadapi penggunaan gawai pada anak usia dini yang ditemukan di PAUD Parung Bogor, terdapat 4 (empat) upaya preventif, yaitu: (1) pengawasan dan pendampingan anak, (2) Diskusi dampak dan manfaat gawai dengan anak, (3) penetapan batas waktu penggunaan gawai, dan (4) adalah pengalihan.
