Abstract

This research aims to analyse the implementation of Virtual Reality (VR)-based learning media in public primary schools (SDN) to improve the effectiveness and engagement of students in the learning process. The problem raised in this research is the low engagement and motivation of students in conventional learning, which often results in a lack of understanding and academic achievement. This research used a qualitative approach with descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 5th and 6th grade students, teachers, and principals at SDNs that have adopted VR-based learning media. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Data validation was conducted using triangulation techniques to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data obtained. The collected data were analyzed using interactive analysis method, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing stages. The results showed that the implementation of VR-based learning media was able to significantly increase student engagement and motivation. Students were more enthusiastic in attending lessons and showed improved understanding of the material, as well as improvement in cognitive ability and comprehension of subject matter, especially in science and history subjects. Constraints include the need for technical training for teachers and the limitations of VR devices. The implication of this research is the importance of developing and implementing technology-based learning media in primary schools to create a more interactive and engaging learning experience for students.

Abstract

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations (UN) in 2015 have a target to achieve 17 global goals, including poverty alleviation, hunger, and climate change. Vocational education and training play an important role in achieving this SDGs by equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the workforce and contribute to sustainable development. The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the work readiness of vocational high schools. This study is used to analyze the work readiness of vocational high school students to support the success of sustainable development goals. The research method used is literature review. The work readiness of vocational school students is an important factor in supporting the achievement of the SDGs. The level of work readiness of vocational school students varies, but in general it is still not optimal. One of the impacts of work readiness is unemployment. Factors that affect the job readiness of vocational school students include educational curriculum, training and skill development, work experience, soft skills, competition and access to information about job opportunities. Improving the job readiness of vocational school students can be done through various strategies, including updating the educational curriculum, improving training and skill development, and providing opportunities for students to gain work experience.

Abstract

This research study investigates the effectiveness of an integrated approach to teaching programming concepts to primary grade students, combining block-based coding exercises (BBCEs) with unplugged activities. The backdrop is the 21st-century digital era, where computational thinking and programming have become critical skills for young learners. The research was conducted with two fourth-grade classes: one received traditional BBCEs instruction (control group), and the other combined this with unplugged activities (intervention group). A post-test was used to compare the groups' performance. The results showed that the intervention group, who experienced the blended learning approach, performed better than the control group, indicating the potential benefits of the combined approach. It's important to note that the study utilized a quasi-experimental design with intact classes and a post-test-only design, which could influence the findings. Despite these limitations, the findings contribute to the growing research on effective pedagogical approaches for teaching programming concepts, suggesting that integrating unplugged activities with BBCEs can enhance student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative approach. The research method used is research and development using a combination of development models from Borg & Gall and 4D Thiagarajan. This research aims to find out how the development, feasibility, and effectiveness of the learning model is being developed. This research uses a sample of students majoring in English. The feasibility test was carried out by three experts: design, media, and learning materials experts. The effectiveness test was carried out by comparing the results of the pre-test and post-test. This research shows that the model developed is suitable for application in learning. Apart from that, the results of the comparison of results show that the post-test value is 7.84 greater than the pre-test result. This shows that the model developed is effective. This research can be used as a reference for policymakers in higher education, and this learning model is feasible to implement. Further research can be carried out for courses with other development models.
