Abstract

Teacher readiness is a crucial aspect in preparing prospective teachers to meet professional demands in the education sector. However, empirical conditions indicate that not all students possess adequate readiness to enter the teaching profession. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy, soft skills, and interest in becoming a teacher on students’ readiness to become teachers. A quantitative associative approach was employed involving 103 students of the Economics Education–Office Administration Study Program at Universitas Negeri Semarang from the 2021 cohort. Data were collected through closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that self-efficacy, soft skills, and interest in becoming a teacher simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on students’ readiness to become teachers (F = 84.133; p < 0.05), explaining 71.0% of the variance. Partial analysis shows that self-efficacy (t = 2.182; p < 0.05), soft skills (t = 5.358; p < 0.05), and interest in becoming a teacher (t = 3.175; p < 0.05) each have a significant positive effect, with soft skills identified as the most dominant variable. These findings suggest that teacher readiness is not only determined by psychological confidence and professional interest but is also strongly influenced by the mastery of non-technical skills.

Abstract

This research aims to reveal the transformation of Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers' skills thru the integration of Canva-based microlearning in enjoyable classroom management. The phenomenon under study stems from the still limited ability of early childhood education (ECE) teachers to pedagogically utilize digital technology to create structured learning that aligns with the characteristics of young children. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research participants consist of early childhood education teachers who actively use Canva in their teaching activities. Data were collected thru semi-structured interviews, participatory observations, and learning documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The research results show several main themes, namely changes in how teachers interpret enjoyable learning, improvements in teachers' ability to manage children's attention and focus thru microlearning, enhancements in lesson planning skills, and increased learning interactions in the classroom. These findings indicate that Canva-based microlearning functions not only as a visual medium but also as a pedagogical tool in managing early childhood education (PAUD) classrooms. This research has implications for strengthening the theory of enjoyable learning and provides practical recommendations for the development of technology-based competencies for PAUD teachers.

Abstract

Character education has become a major focus in basic education, including in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), in line with the increasing moral and social challenges faced by students in the era of globalization. One relevant approach to strengthening character is the integration of local wisdom values, particularly Malay civilization, into the learning curriculum. Malay civilization contains noble values such as religiosity, politeness, mutual cooperation, responsibility, and respect for customs and the social environment. This study aims to describe the integration of Malay civilization into the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah curriculum as an effort to strengthen students' character education. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques included learning observation, interviews with teachers and madrasah principals, and documentation of learning tools and school activities. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the integration of Malay civilization values into the MI curriculum can be done through the development of teaching materials, contextual learning strategies, school cultural habits, and teacher role models. This integration has been proven to contribute to strengthening students' religious character, discipline, responsibility, and social awareness. Thus, Malay civilization can be an effective cultural foundation in supporting character education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.

Abstract

The background to this research arose from the fact that teachers have not yet fully utilized the information technology (IT) available in schools. The development of innovative, engaging, and technology-based learning media is still limited, requiring teachers to improve their digital media skills to make the learning process more engaging and prevent student boredom (Prasetyo & Sari, 2021; Nugraha, 2020). Based on these challenges, this study was designed to explore the use of Wordwall as a more innovative learning evaluation tool. Furthermore, the use of Wordwall as a technology-based learning tool has not been significantly implemented in schools, despite the platform offering interactive and engaging features for students. This study aims to describe how Wordwall is used, the obstacles faced by teachers, and student responses to this platform as a tool for evaluating thematic learning for fifth-grade students at SDN 17 Pasaman. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, with research subjects including teachers and 25 fifth-grade students at SDN 17 Pasaman, Pasaman District, West Pasaman Regency, during the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, followed by descriptive analysis. The results showed that the use of Wordwall in the evaluation of Pancasila Education learning generated a very positive response from students. Teachers reported that students became more active and enthusiastic during the evaluation process. Quantitative findings supported this observation, with 92% of students feeling motivated to study harder, 91% encouraged to achieve a top scorer, 91% excited to solve problems, 72% challenged to answer questions quickly, and 81% encouraged to compete for the highest score. Furthermore, 97% of students stated that Wordwall was practical and enjoyable to use. The platform features an automatic assessment feature that facilitates teacher correction, allows for the creation of game-based evaluations without requiring programming skills, and can be tailored to the learning material (Putra, 2022; Suryani, 2020). This indicates that Wordwall can increase student motivation while providing an interactive, creative, and enjoyable learning experience.

Abstract

Traditional musical instruments possess philosophical, historical, and social values that can reveal past civilizations and serve as a medium for cultural communication (Mufarizuddin, 2022; Agustinus, 2024). In Bengkulu, the Dol serves as a symbol of cultural identity and the primary instrument in the Tabot ritual. It also contains educational elements such as mathematics, physics, and character building. This study analyzes the implementation of Ki Hajar Dewantara's Educational Trilogy—Ing Ngarsa Sung Tuladha, Ing Madya Mangun Karsa, Tut Wuri Handayani—in preserving Dol as a cultural heritage. The research method employed a descriptive qualitative approach with literature analysis and the integration of quotations and empirical findings from various studies on organology, ethnomathematics, and character education. The results indicate that Dol can serve as a medium for character formation for the younger generation through role models of preservation, creative empowerment in the production process, and mentoring in musical practice. Dol preservation also faces challenges such as a lack of promotional media and the threat of a breakdown in the transmission of playing techniques. This study confirms that local culture-based education has strategic potential for revitalizing traditional musical instruments while strengthening students' character.

Abstract

Pancasila Education learning at the elementary school level requires evaluation methods that can measure higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum. However, evaluation practices in schools are still dominated by conventional instruments that have not optimally developed students’ analytical, evaluative, and creative abilities. This study aims to design a HOTS-based digital evaluation for the topic of cultural diversity in Grade V elementary schools by utilizing Google Forms as an evaluation medium. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through document analysis of teaching modules, learning outcomes, learning objectives, and documentation of the digital evaluation design process. The results indicate that the teaching module applies a Problem Based Learning model, with learning objectives at the C4, C5, and C6 cognitive levels, thus requiring evaluation instruments aligned with HOTS characteristics. This study produced 20 case-based multiple-choice questions developed based on a digital evaluation blueprint and implemented using Google Forms. The digital evaluation was effective in measuring students’ analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities, while also providing ease of administration, automatic scoring, and integration of digital literacy. This research contributes to the development of a relevant and modern evaluation model suitable for 21st-century learning.

Abstract

Education is fundamentally a gateway for students to acquire new insights, including comprehending the reality of diversity in Indonesia. Awareness of this multicultural society must be cultivated from an early age to foster mutual respect and prevent social friction. Under the current curriculum, Civics Education (PPKn) does not merely teach citizenship theory but also emphasizes character education. Based on Law No. 20 of 2003, values such as integrity, mutual cooperation, and nationalism must be instilled in students. The urgency of character education becomes increasingly apparent when facing a social reality fraught with conflict, such as the prevalence of bullying, sexual violence, and the erosion of empathy for others. Civics Education at the elementary school level plays a vital role as the foundation for developing students' knowledge and social skills. The utilization of digital media such as Kahoot becomes the key to creating interactive and technology-based learning. This medium offers a game-based quiz approach that is effective in fostering students' interest and focus on the subject matter. Furthermore, Kahoot possesses comprehensive evaluation features this medium is highly useful for supporting various academic activities, such as practice exercises, enrichment programs, and measuring learning outcomes through pretests and posttests.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia plays a strategic role in shaping students' character by strengthening religious and ethical foundations in the curriculum. This study aims to analyze the integration of religious and ethical values in the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in terms of its objectives, content, and implementation in the context of arts education. The research method used literature study and policy analysis by examining academic sources and relevant education regulations. The results of the study show that the Merdeka Curriculum explicitly places the Pancasila Student Profile as the foundation for character building, with the dimensions of faith, devotion to God Almighty, and noble character as the main indicators. The integration of religious and ethical values is realized both through core subjects, such as Religious Education and Pancasila, and across disciplines through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). In arts education, these values are reflected through the use of local and religious-based artworks that contribute to strengthening students' moral awareness, ethics, and cultural identity. However, implementation in the field still faces challenges in the form of variations in teacher competence, differences in value interpretation, and limited supporting facilities. This study concludes that the integration of religious and ethical foundations in the Merdeka Curriculum plays an important role in shaping the character of students holistically, thus requiring a structured, contextual, and collaborative implementation strategy, especially in arts education.

Abstract

Scholars played a central role in the intellectual development and civilization of Islam in the Malay region, particularly in the 18th century, which was marked by intensified scientific activities, writing, and cross-regional intellectual networks. This article aims to examine the role of scholars in the intellectual development of Malay civilization in the 18th century through their contributions in the fields of education, Islamic writing, and the formation of scientific networks between the Malay world and the Middle East. This study uses a qualitative approach with library research methods, with data sources in the form of classical manuscripts, books by Malay scholars, and relevant historical literature. Data analysis was conducted through a historical approach and content analysis of the scholars' works. The results of the study show that 18th-century scholars not only played a role as educators and disseminators of Islamic teachings, but also as agents of intellectual transformation who shaped the Malay scholarly tradition based on the integration of religious knowledge, language, and local culture. The contributions of these scholars became an important foundation for the development of Malay civilization and the continuity of the Islamic intellectual tradition in the archipelago.
