Abstract

The habit of Islamic character values is one of the strategic efforts in shaping the behavior and attitudes of students, including in improving learning discipline. Islamic values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, and obedience to rules are believed to be closely related to student learning behavior at school. This study aims to determine the relationship between the habit of Islamic character values and student learning discipline. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were collected through questionnaires on the instillation of Islamic character values and student learning discipline. Data analysis techniques used the Chi-Square test to determine the relationship between two categorical variables. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the instillation of Islamic character values and student learning discipline (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the better the habit of Islamic character values, the higher the level of student learning discipline. Therefore, the habit of Islamic character values needs to be continuously strengthened as an integral part of the educational process in schools.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide flexibility for teachers in designing and implementing student-centered learning, including the implementation of thematic learning in elementary schools. However, the success of curriculum implementation is greatly influenced by teachers' perceptions of the policy. This study aims to determine the relationship between teachers' perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum and the implementation of thematic learning in elementary schools. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The data analysis technique used was the Chi-Square test to see the relationship between two categorical variables. Data were collected through a teacher perception questionnaire and a thematic learning implementation observation sheet. The results showed a significant relationship between teachers' perceptions of the Merdeka Curriculum and the implementation of thematic learning. These findings indicate that positive teacher perceptions contribute to more optimal thematic learning implementation. Therefore, strengthening teachers' understanding and positive attitudes towards the Merdeka Curriculum is an important factor in its successful implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of tutors in improving the learning participation of students in the Package B equivalency program at the Kendal Regency SKB. The background of this study is the high dropout rate influenced by economic and social factors and low learning motivation. The method used was a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation with seven informants consisting of the head of the SKB, tutors, and learners. Tutors not only play a role in delivering material, but also in building interpersonal relationships, creating an inclusive learning atmosphere, and helping to overcome the emotional and social obstacles of participants. Supporting factors for participation include environmental support and positive interpersonal relationships, while inhibiting factors include workloads, economic conditions, and low self-confidence among participants. To increase learning participation, tutors need to function as facilitators, motivators, mediators, mentors, and evaluators, as these roles have been proven to have a significant effect on increasing the motivation, attendance, and independence of learners.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education plays a strategic role in shaping students who are faithful, ethical, and intellectually grounded. However, in practice, the curriculum of Islamic Religious Education is still predominantly constructed upon a normative dogmatic paradigm that positions religious knowledge as fixed and final, thereby limiting the development of students’ critical thinking skills. This article aims to examine the reconstruction of the epistemology of the Islamic Religious Education curriculum based on the philosophy of science and its implications for strengthening students’ critical thinking abilities. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research through conceptual and philosophical analysis of literature on the philosophy of science, Islamic epistemology, and the Islamic Religious Education curriculum. The findings indicate that the existing curriculum demonstrates epistemological weaknesses, particularly in integrating revelation, reason, and empirical experience as complementary sources of knowledge. An epistemological reconstruction grounded in the philosophy of science encompassing ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions enables Islamic Religious Education to be developed in a more reflective, rational, and contextual manner. This reconstruction contributes to the enhancement of students’ critical thinking through dialogical, analytical, and morally responsible learning processes. The study affirms that the philosophy of science serves as a crucial foundation for the development of an Islamic Religious Education curriculum that transcends mere normative value transmission and functions as a medium for cultivating students’ critical reasoning in contemporary educational contexts.

Abstract

Digital transformation encourages educational institutions to adopt efficient, integrated, and responsive academic management systems. This research aims to examine academic management based on administrative efficiency, digital supervision, and staff coordination as effective academic management strategies in the digital era. The research approach uses qualitative methods with a library research design, involving the analysis of academic literature, scientific journals, and current educational policy documents (2020–2025). Data analysis was conducted thru thematic content analysis to understand the conceptual relationships between administrative efficiency, digital supervision, and staff coordination in shaping an adaptive and coordinated academic management system. The study results show that administrative efficiency accelerates data processing and reduces manual workload; digital supervision enables continuous data-based monitoring and feedback; while integrated staff coordination strengthens inter-unit collaboration and performance accountability. The integration of these three aspects creates a synergistic, adaptive, and responsive academic management system to digital challenges, thereby supporting the overall effectiveness of academic governance. This research provides a theoretical contribution to expanding the understanding of digital-based academic management and practical implications for educational institution managers in designing efficient, collaborative, and adaptive academic systems.
