Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the concept of Green Spirituality is integrated into the transformation of sustainable green campuses at three universities in Jambi Province: the University of Jambi, UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi, and INISMA Jambi. Using a qualitative approach, this study explores the concept of sustainability as it develops contextually at each institution. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation review. The results show that (1) the concept of Green Spirituality is implemented at UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi through the Green Sutha program, an ecological transformation movement that integrates Islamic spiritual values with sustainable campus environmental conservation practices. This program emphasizes the awareness that preserving the earth is part of worship, so that every greening activity, waste management, and utilization of green spaces are oriented towards the values of blessing and moral responsibility. (2) the concept of Green Spirituality is implemented at the University of Jambi through the Unja Lestari program, which emphasizes the integration of spiritual, ecological, and social values into all campus activities. This program encourages the academic community to view the environment as a divine gift that must be protected through environmentally friendly behavior, such as reducing plastic waste, conserving energy, and greening the campus area. (3) The concept of the Green Innovation Center at INISMA Jambi, a green literacy-based curriculum, encourages each study program to incorporate sustainability topics into its learning. This concept aligns with the vision of Islamic education, which emphasizes the role of humans as caliphs in preserving the earth. Through curriculum integration, environmental values are not only conveyed theoretically but also internalized through hands-on practice at the innovation center.

Abstract

Interfaith relations, or what we commonly know as religious moderation, have existed since the Srivijaya era. The Muaro Jambi Temple is a legacy of the Srivijaya kingdom. Character education in religious moderation is taught in the community and in the classroom. The Muaro Jambi temple complex was a center of moderation and religious education in Southeast Asia in the 15th century. As the largest temple complex in Southeast Asia, many of its buildings are still buried under the waters of the Batang Hari River, the longest river on the island of Sumatra. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, meaning researchers find knowledge or theories about research over a certain period. This study aims to determine the value of Islamic religious teaching in the Muaro Jambi temple complex in Jambi. This study uses qualitative descriptive data analysis, meaning describing with the words used. This is done to provide an overview of the phenomenon and research results through data categorization and the use of common language. The results of the study indicate that the approach to religious moderation is strengthened through: 1) Interaction based on cross-cultural and interfaith dialogue; 2) Understanding the history of civilization to avoid extreme attitudes; 3) Contextual learning that combines Islamic values with cultural realities; 4) Strengthening social morals and awareness of preserving cultural heritage to ensure its reliability.

Abstract

Through deliberative pedagogy that integrates dialogue and community engagement into teaching, it encourages democratic practices and addresses societal challenges. Deliberative teaching is not just a learning method, but an educational revolution that puts democracy, inclusion, and justice at the core of learning because citizenship requires not only social inclusion, habits, knowledge, and evidence-based reasoning but also argumentation skills. In this study it was found that (1) the deliberative-inquiry model influences students' political attitudes and behaviors and fosters civic engagement, but this must be supported by a rights-respecting and responsive school environment to encourage students' participation indiscussions (2) it can overcome racism that respects equality rights, as well as focus on their reflection and decision-making processes in the classroom (3) as the main framework in democratic discussions both inside and outside the classroom because it can build the character of compromise, actualize citizen participation, and build community.

Abstract

Teachers play a crucial role in developing students’ reading ability. Therefore, teacher education programs need to foster positive reading attitudes among student teachers. This descriptive qualitative study examined the implementation of extensive reading (ER) in an English teacher education curriculum and student teachers’ perceptions of the practice. Data were collected from course syllabus (RPS) and questionnaire data. The findings indicate that ER can be integrated into an existing EFL reading course and contributes to increased reading interest and the development of pedagogical skills, although improvements in English proficiency were limited. The study concludes that ER is feasible within the current EFL curriculum. However, a stand-alone ER course is recommended to maximize its benefits for student teachers.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ self-confidence in completing IPAS tasks. The research employed aqualitative approach involving 20 students as research participants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and a self-confidence questionnaire. Observations and interviews were conducted to explore students’actual behaviors and factors influencing their self-confidence, while the questionnaire was used as supporting datato examine students’ self-perceptions. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data display, andconclusion drawing. The findings indicate that based on observations and interviews, students’ self-confidence incompleting IPAS tasks remains relatively low. Students tended to hesitate, showed limited confidence in their ownanswers, and relied on assistance from peers and teachers. In contrast, the questionnaire results revealed thatstudents perceived themselves as having a high level of self-confidence. This discrepancy suggests a gap betweenstudents’ self-perceptions and their observable behaviors during the learning process. Therefore, this studyhighlights the importance of employing multiple data collection techniques to obtain a more comprehensiveunderstanding of students’ self-confidence in IPAS learning.

Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) aims to determine the Effect of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) on environmental care behavior in fifth grade elementary school students of SDN 2 Palangan as an alternative project-based learning that provides real experience to students in applying Pancasila values in everyday life, especially on environmental themes. The research method used is a quantitative method used to determine the effect of independent variables (treatment) on dependent variables (results) in controlled conditions. Based on the results of the paired sample t-test, the average value of students' environmental care behavior scores before the implementation between the control pretest-posttest class environmental care behavior reached 22.32 and the experimental pretest-posttest class reached 29.40 before and after the project implementation. Statistically, data analysis using (T-test) produces a significance value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000, this value is smaller than the significance level of 0.05, so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) on the environmental care behavior of fifth grade students at SDN 2 Palangan.
