Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ difficulties in solving multiplication and division word problems based on the VARK-Fleming learning styles: visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic. This mixed method research involved third-grade students of SDN Tambakaji 01 Semarang in the 2025/2026 academic year. Eight students (2 from each learning style) were selected for interviews using purposive sampling. Data were collected through the VARK questionnaire, essay type word problem tests, observation, interviews, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that learning styles were dominated by auditory (33.33%), followed by read/write (29.17%), kinesthetic (20.83%), and visual (16.67%). Difficulties varied by learning style. Visual students mainly struggled with understanding word problems (55.5%), conceptual understanding (41.6%), problem-solving skills (38.8%), and calculation (27.7%). Auditory students had difficulties in understanding word problems (40.2%) and calculation (31.9%). Read/write students struggled most with understanding word problems (47.6%) and calculation (38.0%). Kinesthetic students experienced major difficulties in understanding word problems (48.8%) and problem-solving skills (46.6%), while calculation and conceptual difficulties were relatively lower (14.2%). These difficulties were influenced by internal and external factors.

Abstract

Pancasila education in fifth grade tends to be conventional, less interactive, and does not make optimal use of digital media, resulting in suboptimal student engagement and learning outcomes. This study aims to develop, test the feasibility, and analyze the effectiveness of Educaplay game media based on a deep learning approach to improve learning outcomes. The research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 26 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests, then analyzed descriptively and quantitatively using normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain. The results showed that the media was very feasible based on validation by media experts (97.5%) and subject matter experts (92.5%) and received positive responses from teachers and students. The average pretest score of 57.30 increased to 79.55 on the posttest with a significance of 0.001 (<0.05) and an N-Gain of 0.52 (moderate category). It was concluded that the media was effective in improving learning outcomes and creating more interactive, reflective, and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model assisted by modified Card Match media in improving students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary. The main issue in this research is the lack of quantitative studies examining the collaboration of this model in the context of Arabic language at the Junior High School level, as well as the monotony of conventional vocabulary memorization methods. The method used is a quantitative experimental with a pre-experimental design (one group pre-test post-test design) on seventh-grade students at SMPIT Abu Bakar Ash-Shiddiq Logas. The research results show that the students' vocabulary ability improved from a low category in the pre-test with a score of 1,110 or 62%, to a high category in the post-test with a score of 1,520 or 84%. Inferential analysis using the paired sample t-test produced a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, which is reinforced by an N-Gain score of 0.75 in the high category. The findings of this study indicate that the application of the TGT learning model using Card Match media can improve students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low ability of tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Sungai Beremas in presenting observation report texts. Students experienced difficulties in organizing words, were not yet able to deliver the content orally in a clear manner, and tended to read the text without prior speaking practice. As a result, when presenting in front of the class, students relied more on reading than speaking fluently. This study aimed to describe students’ ability to present observation report texts in terms of linguistic and non-linguistic aspects. This research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive method. The sample consisted of 29 students. The data were in the form of scores representing students’ ability to present observation report texts. The findings revealed that the average ability of students was categorized as more than adequate, with a mastery level of 69.37%. The highest average score was obtained in pronunciation accuracy (71.26), while the lowest was in stress placement (42.84). Overall, both linguistic and non-linguistic aspects still need improvement, particularly in audience targeting, diction, fluency, topic mastery, as well as appropriate expressions and gestures.
