Abstract

This community service program aims to develop a local culture-based ecotourism model through the development of a jogging track integrated with the traditional Subak irrigation system. The activity was carried out in Bongkasa-Badung village, with a participatory approach and needs-based training methods. This program is not only directed at planning physical infrastructure development, but also at strengthening entrepreneurial capacity in a sustainable manner. There are seven strategic steps implemented, starting from initial observation, social mapping, to community training and coaching. The results of the community service show that the Subak jogging track can be an alternative ecotourism that is educational, environmentally friendly, and oriented towards preserving culture. Economically, various new business activities have emerged such as healthy stalls, farmers selling local products, and community-based local product management (tuak drinks). The main challenges in implementation are limited infrastructure and coordination between institutions. However, through the right communication strategy and contextual training, these obstacles can be overcome gradually. This community service provides practical implications for the development of locality-based tourism villages and is worthy of being replicated in areas with similar characteristics.

Abstract

The development of Trigona honey bee farming by the Pokdarwis Group in Bukit Jangkrik Village, Gianyar, is still in its early stages toward becoming a productive economic activity. However, several fundamental challenges, such as limited availability of bee feed and insufficient knowledge about honey harvesting techniques, have resulted in low quality and quantity of production. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted from February to May 2025, involving 20 participants from the management and members of the Pokdarwis group. The solutions offered include knowledge and technology transfer through training on Trigona bee feed plant species and demonstration planting on demonstration plots (demplots). The program aims to enrich bee forage sources with sustainable nectar and pollen-producing plant species while enhancing partners' understanding of better honey production strategies. Bukit Jangkrik Village itself possesses ideal ecological potential for Trigona bee development, thereby strongly supporting the program's success. Following the activities, a significant increase in participants' knowledge was observed, with 100% of participants understanding the types of Trigona bee forage plants. This achievement demonstrates that the program has had a tangible impact in enhancing partners' capacity toward productive economic development. Moving forward, this progress is expected to serve as a strong foundation for promoting the sustainability of Trigona honey-based ecotourism and improving community well-being through the utilization of locally available, competitive resources.

Abstract

The Bali provincial government is focusing on improving education based on local wisdom, specifically Nangun Sad Kerti Loka Bali. Sad Kerti, which means six efforts to maintain the balance of the universe, is used in early childhood education. However, traditional methods, such as oral knowledge and teacher demonstrations, are not effective in conveying local wisdom. To address this, a community service activity has been introduced using Sad Kerti digital learning media, focusing on the story of Dang Hyang Nirartha. The activity uses demonstration, storytelling, and question-and-answer sessions. Teacher and student assessments were conducted, and it was found that Sad Kerti learning media is suitable for formulating learning objectives that meet student needs. This digital Sad Kerti learning media is highly feasible for use, as it helps children develop a deeper understanding of their identity and cultural heritage.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has led to the emergence of financial technology lending (fintech lending), including online loan services that offer convenience and accessibility. However, these conveniences often come with hidden risks, particularly for individuals with low financial literacy. This community service program was conducted in Sumerta Village, East Denpasar, Bali, aiming to increase public awareness and understanding of personal financial management and the dangers of illegal online loans. The program implemented an interactive educational approach through public seminars, direct discussions, and the use of printed and digital media such as posters and stickers. The activities successfully raised community awareness regarding how to identify legal and illegal loan platforms and how to manage personal finances more responsibly. The initiative also empowered local residents to become financial literacy advocates within their communities. Overall, this program demonstrates the importance of strengthening digital financial literacy at the grassroots level to protect communities from predatory lending practices and to build sustainable financial behavior.

Abstract

Effective transactional communication is a key factor in the success of market interactions, particularly in traditional markets such as Pasar Badung, Denpasar. However, various linguistic and pragmatic challenges are still encountered in the speech acts of traders, leading to unclear messages, misunderstandings, and reduced quality of service to customers. This community service project aims to enhance traders’ pragmatic competence in using the Indonesian language through contextually designed training tailored to real market transaction situations. The method employed is participatory training using a pragmatics-based approach, covering speech act analysis, implicature, and politeness in language use. The program was conducted in three stages: needs assessment, training implementation, and evaluation of the impact on communicative behavior. The training results indicate an improvement in participants’ understanding and application of more effective and polite communication strategies during commercial interactions. The conclusion of this activity highlights that pragmatic training positively contributes to the improvement of traders’ communicative literacy, while also fostering more productive and human-centered transactional environments at Pasar Badung..

Abstract

The community service program conducted by Group 9 of Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia aimed to utilize information technology to support digital transformation in Jagapati Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency. The team designed and implemented a web-based village information system to improve the efficiency of public services and accelerate community access to population data, traditional activities, and official announcements. In addition, the team assisted local serundeng (fried coconut condiment) MSMEs in the digitization of their businesses through training in digital product catalog creation, modern packaging design, and QR code integration as a digital marketing tool. The implementation methods included initial observation, participatory planning, direct execution, and evaluation based on community feedback. The results showed that the village information system helped local authorities manage data more systematically and transparently, while the digitization of MSMEs increased the competitiveness of local products and expanded market opportunities. This program demonstrates that collaboration between university students, village officials, and the local community can foster digital independence and culture-based economic empowerment. Through a contextual and solution-oriented approach, the initiative has contributed meaningfully to building a smart village that is technologically adaptive while remaining rooted in traditional values

Abstract

Selumbung Tourism Village is one of the potential tourist destinations in Karangasem Regency, Bali, known for its rich natural resources, culture, and local traditions. However, in recent years, the village has faced several challenges, including a decline in tourist visits and a weak destination brand identity. These issues have been exacerbated by the lack of synergy in management among members of the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) and limited capacity in managing digital promotion. In response to these problems, a community engagement program carried out by the Tourism Management Study Program aimed to strengthen destination branding and enhance the capacity of POKDARWIS members through digital marketing training, assistance in promotional content development, and revitalization of the group's vision and mission. The implementation was conducted through a participatory approach, including observation, focus group discussions (FGDs), training sessions, and result evaluations. The outcomes of the program indicated an increased understanding among POKDARWIS members regarding the importance of branding and digital marketing strategies, the development of a new promotional narrative for the village, and the formulation of a collaborative action plan. This activity has had a positive impact by fostering a spirit of togetherness, increasing the competitiveness of the destination, and reinforcing the sustainable development direction of Selumbung Tourism Village.
