Abstract

The mosquito repellent product brand HIT, which is suspected of containing harmful active substances, has become the subject of a business ethics violation by PT Megasari Makmur and is the main focus of this analysis. This study aims to examine the elements that led the company to violate business ethics, the importance of regulations governing the use of chemicals, and the impact of such violations on the company's reputation and consumer trust. Data were obtained through literature review and thematic analysis using a qualitative descriptive approach. The findings indicate that non-compliance with business ethics regulations not only harms consumers but also threatens the company's sustainability. In response, PT Megasari Makmur has recalled the problematic product and is working to improve the formulation to make it safer. This study recommends the importance of transparency and ongoing internal audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain consumer trust in the future.

Abstract

This paper discusses the MV Flag Change Procedure. Atlas Link becomes the Indonesian flag at the Harbor Master's Office. This process aims to understand the steps from submitting an application to issuing an approval letter, as well as registration at the Directorate General of Sea Transportation. This research also identified various required documents, including bills of sale, certificates of fitness, and safety documents. In addition, this paper describes the role of the harbormaster in ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and international standards, as well as the challenges faced during the document validation process with the country of origin. In writing this paper the author used field research and library research methods, and the conclusion that can be drawn is that the procedure for changing the MV Atlas Link flag from a foreign flag to an Indonesian flag at the Belawan harbormaster's office, Medan, involves several important steps, including submitting an application, checking documents. , ship inspection, validation with the country of origin, and registration at the Directorate General of Sea Transportation. During this process the harbormaster acts as an authority who ensures that all steps are carried out in accordance with applicable maritime regulations, both at the national and international level. Compliance with international standards, such as those set by the IMO, is also essential to maintain shipping safety and environmental protection, although these procedures are self-explanatory, obstacles such as difficulties in communication with the country of origin and validation of documents can affect the smoothness of the process. Therefore, proper supervision and handling is very necessary to prevent legal problems and ensure safe ship operations.

Abstract

This paper discusses the activities of the ship agency business unit at PT. Gardatama Anugerah Segara Sejahtera Batam and the role of government agencies in issuing ship certificates, particularly the Safe Manning certificate at Batam port. The Safe Manning certificate is issued by the Directorate General of Sea Transportation for ship crews who meet national and international qualification and competency standards. The process of issuing this certificate requires supporting documents submitted by the shipowner or agency to the harbor master. Gardatama Anugerah Segara Sejahtera Batam has established good cooperative relationships with government agencies, private sectors, and ship owners, making it easier to process services and convey information related to ship needs. This research uses two methods: Field Research, which involves direct observation, and Library Research, which uses literature review as a data source.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of exports, imports and government spending on national economic growth from 2009 to 2023. The data used in the study is secondary data sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). The research employs a quantitative method through multiple linear regression, with the software Eviews 10 used for analysis. The results of the research indicate that, in part, exports exert a negative and significant influence on national economic growth, while imports exert a positive and significant influence. Furthermore, government expenditure exerts a negative and significant influence on national economic growth. These variables, exports, imports and government expenditure, exert a simultaneous influence on national economic growth.

Abstract

This study provides insights for improving academic service quality and enhancing student satisfaction. The Industrial Engineering Program aims to enhance academic service quality to support students’ success. Recent survey data indicate a decline in satisfaction, with a 9.11% drop from 2021/2022 to 2022/2023 (from an average score of 4.39 to 3.99) and a further 20.80% decline from 2022/2023 to 2023/2024 (down to 3.16). This study analyzes service quality using SERVQUAL and IPA methods across 22 service attributes to identify areas needing improvement. Results show all attributes with a negative gap, with the smallest gap in academic advising (P10) at -0.76, indicating it is closest to meeting student expectations. The IPA framework categorizes improvements into four quadrants, prioritizing restroom cleanliness, laboratory facilities, and classroom comfort (Quadrant 1). Suggestions include aligning service attributes more closely with student needs and exploring how service quality impacts academic performance and well-being. This research provides key insights to enhance service quality and student satisfaction in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of violations of business ethics on workers' rights at PT Alpen Food Industry, known as a leading ice cream producer in Southeast Asia. The company faces a number of violations, including inadequate working conditions, inadequate wage payments, excessive working hours, and discrimination against female workers. The study uses a qualitative method with a literature review approach, where data is obtained from various articles, reports, and relevant documents. The results of the study indicate that violations of workers' rights, such as violations of leave rights, unsafe working conditions, gender discrimination, and non-compliance with labor laws, have a significant impact on workers' welfare, the company's reputation, and its business sustainability. The novelty of this study lies in the in-depth analysis of the implications of violations of business ethics on the sustainability of companies in the food industry sector, with the implication that internal policy reform, strengthening law enforcement, and consistent application of business ethics are needed to create a safe, fair, and conducive work environment.

Abstract

Starbucks Corporation, a global leader in the coffee industry, has successfully adapted its global marketing strategies to meet the needs of the Indonesian market. This study aims to analyze how Starbucks integrates product innovation, customer experience, technology utilization, strategic location selection, and loyalty programs to align with local preferences. Using a qualitative approach, this research examines the challenges and opportunities in adapting global strategies within Indonesia’s unique cultural and consumer landscape. The findings reveal that localization and cultural sensitivity are key drivers of Starbucks' success in Indonesia, enabling the company to maintain market leadership amidst increasing competition.

Abstract

Generation Z, with unique characteristics such as technological savvy, preference for work flexibility, and need for work life balance, brings a new paradigm in human resource management. Their dominance in the workforce creates challenges as well as opportunities for companies to create a work environment that supports employee productivity and well-being. This study aims to analyze the effect of flexible working hours and work life balance on the productivity of Gen Z employees through a literature study approach. The results show that flexible working hours allow employees to work more efficiently according to their convenient time and place, while work life balance helps reduce stress, increase motivation, and drive productivity. Generation Z highly values ​​this balance, which not only improves their mental and physical well-being but also contributes to the success of the company.

Abstract

The open trading system without restrictions, known as free trade, allows for increased product competitiveness in international markets. Tuna and skipjack commodities are Indonesia's flagship products and play a significant role in fisheries exports. This study investigates the impact of free trade on tuna and skipjack exports, identifies challenges, and explores appropriate management strategies. The findings reveal that Indonesia faces challenges such as global competition, threats to the sustainability of marine resources due to overfishing, and demands to meet international standards. However, free trade offers opportunities to expand markets and reduce tariff barriers. The use of technology, supply chain digitalization, and innovation are crucial to enhancing efficiency and product competitiveness. To sustain marine resource conservation and maintain Indonesia's position as a leading tuna producer globally, the government must implement regulations and collaborate with industry stakeholders. Through a comprehensive strategic approach, Indonesia can preserve marine ecosystem sustainability while continuing to increase the contribution of tuna and skipjack exports to the national economy.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises or often abbreviated as MSMEs require effective management tools to achieve optimal and sustainable performance. Balance Scorecard is a strategic management system that aims to describe the organization's strategic mission into operational goals and performance benchmarks with various perspectives. This research was conducted on one of the chicken noodle and meatball businesses, namely Cak No's, to analyze the application of the Balance Scorecard for the business he runs. The method used is a mix of methods with data obtained from interviews, observations, and simple business documents The results of the study show that 3 perspectives of the balance scorecard are declared to be achieved. In other words, the Cak No chicken noodle business has a good performance in terms of finances, customers, and internal business processes.
