Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of the recruitment process of Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK) in shaping perceptions of decent work among State Civil Apparatus (ASN). The objective of this research is to analyze the effect of the PPPK recruitment process on the perception of decent work among ASN in Tebing Tinggi City. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method by distributing questionnaires to 92 PPPK ASN respondents. The data analysis techniques include classical assumption tests, simple linear regression, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis testing using SPSS. The results show that the PPPK recruitment process has a positive and significant effect on the perception of decent work among ASN, with a contribution of 78.2%. This indicates that the better the implementation of a transparent, objective, and merit-based recruitment process, the higher the employees’ perception of decent work. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of improving the quality of the PPPK recruitment system to support the creation of professional ASN and enhance employee trust and job satisfaction within government institutions.

Abstract

This research explores the relationship between work-life balance, academic stress, and students’ academic performance by examining the mediating role of self-efficacy. The study is based on Social Cognitive Theory, which explains that self-efficacy plays an essential role in influencing individual behavior and achievement. A quantitative explanatory survey method was applied, involving undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, as research participants. Data collection was conducted using online questionnaires, while the analysis employed the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) technique. The results demonstrate that work-life balance is positively associated with academic performance, although the relationship is not statistically significant. Meanwhile, academic stress has a negative but insignificant effect on academic performance. The findings also show that work-life balance significantly enhances students’ self-efficacy, whereas academic stress significantly decreases self-efficacy levels. Furthermore, self-efficacy has a significant positive impact on students’ academic performance. However, the mediation test indicates that self-efficacy does not significantly mediate the relationship between work-life balance, academic stress, and academic performance. In general, the study underlines the importance of self-efficacy in supporting academic achievement among students. Therefore, universities are expected to promote programs focused on strengthening self-efficacy, improving stress management, and maintaining a healthy balance between academic responsibilities and personal life to support sustainable academic success.

Abstract

Taxes are the main source of government revenue used to finance expenditures and national development. This study aims to assess the effects of knowledge, awareness, and tax socialization on the compliance of land and building taxpayers. A quantitative approach and primary data were used, with 100 respondents selected through random sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS 26. The results show that taxpayer knowledge has a positive and significant effect on land and building taxpayer compliance, while taxpayer awareness and tax socialization do not have an impact on the compliance of PBB taxpayers. All three variables simultaneously have a significant positive impact on mandatory compliance with PBB. The findings highlight the critical role of taxpayer education in enhancing compliance, emphasizing that informed taxpayers are more likely to fulfill their obligations. Meanwhile, simply increasing awareness or providing general socialization without targeted knowledge transfer does not guarantee improved compliance. These results suggest that policy interventions should focus on strengthening taxpayer knowledge and understanding of regulations to maximize compliance rates. Overall, the study contributes valuable insights for policymakers and tax authorities in developing effective strategies to enhance taxpayer adherence to land and building tax regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate a framework for the quality of pesantren education through the integration of ihsan and itqan values into the quality assurance system. This study is based on the issue of the limitations of modern education governance that tends to be fixated on the fulfillment of formal-material aspects, but less touching the ethical foundation and spiritual motivation that is the root of Islamic educational institutions. Through a conceptual approach, this article analyzes the alignment of Islamic values in the educational structure in order to build a quality model based on religious principles. The results showed that the quality governance of pesantren was built by placing ihsan as the root of an organizational culture that prioritizes transcendental responsibility, while the itqan principle ensures that the implementation of every educational activity takes place in a systematic, disciplined, and has high quality standards. The combination of these two values results in an independent internal oversight mechanism. These findings provide a contribution to the development of Islamic education governance that unites religious commitment with professional demands. In practical terms, this model is a reference for pesantren managers in strengthening institutional accountability without compromising the identity of the pesantren.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of financial literacy and digital payment on the consumptive behavior of Generation Z in Paccinongang Village, Gowa Regency. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a causal design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 110 respondents of Generation Z residing in Paccinongang Village who had used digital payment, using purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior, with a regression coefficient of 0.401, t-count of 9.705, and significance of 0.000. Digital payment also has a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior, with a regression coefficient of 0.447, t-count of 11.429, and significance of 0.000. Simultaneously, financial literacy and digital payment have a significant effect on consumptive behavior with an F-count of 124.540 and significance of 0.000. The Adjusted R-square value of 69.4% indicates that both independent variables are able to explain the variation in consumptive behavior at a high category. This means that the higher the level of financial literacy and the intensity of digital payment usage, the higher the consumptive behavior of Generation Z in Paccinongang Village, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the management system of the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) implemented by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) from the perspective of student participants as internal actors. KKN is a form of community engagement program that requires an effective management system to ensure its objectives are achieved optimally. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory design. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), participant observation, and document analysis, then analyzed using the interactive model proposed by Miles et al. The findings indicate that the KKN management system still faces several challenges, including administrative irregularities, weak coordination and communication among stakeholders, limited information system support, and insufficient technical readiness during implementation. In addition, students provide critical reflections on their roles and experiences throughout the program. The problems identified are not only caused by institutional factors but also by interactions among actors within the KKN implementation system. This study highlights the importance of strengthening system integration, improving the quality of coordination among related parties, and developing digital-based information systems. These efforts are expected to enhance the effectiveness of KKN implementation and improve overall program governance in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) on purchase intention of iPhone brand smartphone through brand image as a mediating variable in Management students of Makassar State University. This study is motivated by the rapid development of digital technology and the increasing use of social media as a source of information that influences consumer perceptions and purchasing decisions, especially among students. The phenomenon of the rise of online product reviews, comments, and recommendations makes E-WOM an important factor in shaping brand image and driving consumer purchase intention. This study uses a quantitative explanatory approach survey method with purposive sampling technique, then analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS. The results show that electronic word of mouth (E-WOM) has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention and brand image, brand image also has a positive and significant effect on purchase intention, and is able to significantly mediate the relationship between E-WOM and purchase intention of iPhone brand smartphone. These findings indicate that the better the quality of information and reviews conveyed through E-WOM, the stronger the brand image formed and the higher the consumer's purchase intention.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital financial technology has increased the adoption of e-wallets among university students and may influence tax awareness through greater transparency in digital transactions. This study examines the effects of financial literacy and risk perception on tax awareness through e-wallet usage among higher education students in Batam City, with culture included as a control variable. A quantitative survey was conducted involving 247 students who regularly use e-wallet services. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with robust standard error estimation in Google Colaboratory. The results indicate that financial literacy has a positive but insignificant effect on e-wallet usage (β = 0.0411, p > 0.05), whereas risk perception has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.5572, p < 0.01). E-wallet usage also positively and significantly affects tax awareness (β = 0.4613, p < 0.01). Furthermore, e-wallet usage significantly mediates the relationship between risk perception and tax awareness but does not mediate the relationship between financial literacy and tax awareness. These findings suggest that e-wallet adoption is driven more by digital lifestyle demands than financial literacy and that improving digital risk literacy may help strengthen students’ tax awareness and responsible use of financial technology.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of love of money, hedonistic lifestyle, and locus of control on the financial behavior of students at the Faculty of Economics, Kadiri Islamic University. The background of this research is based on the low level of saving awareness and the tendency toward consumptive behavior among students, which are influenced by psychological factors and lifestyle. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of students from the Faculty of Economics at Kadiri Islamic University, with samples selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis.The results showed that partially, love of money, hedonistic lifestyle, and locus of control had a significant effect on students’ financial behavior. A hedonistic lifestyle tended to have a negative effect on financial behavior, while locus of control had a positive effect in improving financial management abilities. Simultaneously, the three variables significantly influenced students’ financial behavior.This research is expected to contribute to the development of financial management knowledge, particularly regarding students’ financial behavior, and to serve as a consideration for students in managing their finances more wisely.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of product packaging, sales promotions, and online customer reviews on Skintific skincare purchase decisions on the TikTok platform, both partially and simultaneously. The method used in this study is a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 96 respondents who were selected as research participants. Data collection was carried out using questionnaire statements designed to measure respondents’ perceptions of each research variable. The data obtained were then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. In addition, hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test to determine the partial effect of each independent variable and the F-test to determine the simultaneous effect of all independent variables on the dependent variable. The results of the study indicate that product packaging has a significant partial effect on Skintific skincare purchase decisions on the TikTok platform. Sales promotions also have a significant partial effect on purchase decisions, as they influence consumer interest and purchasing behavior. Furthermore, online customer reviews significantly affect purchase decisions by providing social proof and influencing consumer trust. Simultaneously, product packaging, sales promotions, and online customer reviews have a significant combined effect on Skintific skincare purchase decisions on the TikTok platform, indicating that these variables jointly play an important role in shaping consumer purchasing behavior.
