Abstract

Teacher performance is a key determinant of successful teaching and learning processes and the achievement of educational quality. Previous studies have demonstrated that principals' academic supervision and teachers' pedagogical competence are two important factors contributing to improved teacher performance. However, the implementation of these factors in elementary schools within Cluster 4 Bangil, Pasuruan Regency, varies considerably, highlighting the need for empirical investigation into their influence on teacher performance. This study aims to examine the effects of academic supervision and pedagogical competence, both individually and simultaneously, on the performance of elementary school teachers. This study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research design. The study population consisted of teachers from six elementary schools in Cluster 4 Bangil, Pasuruan Regency. A total of 54 teachers were selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires that had met validity and reliability requirements and were analyzed using multiple linear regression preceded by classical assumption tests. The findings indicate that academic supervision has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Pedagogical competence also has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Furthermore, academic supervision and pedagogical competence simultaneously exert a significant influence on teacher performance. These findings suggest that continuous academic supervision, coupled with the strengthening of teachers' pedagogical competence, constitutes an essential strategy for enhancing the professionalism and performance of elementary school teachers.

Abstract

Teacher professionalism is a key determinant of the quality of early childhood education services. Enhancing teacher professionalism depends not only on individual competencies but also on the human resource management (HRM) strategies implemented by educational institutions. This study aims to analyze HRM strategies for improving teacher professionalism, identify the factors influencing their implementation, and develop a strategic HRM model for kindergarten institutions. A qualitative approach with a multisite research design was employed at PGRI 4 Kindergarten Bangil and Muslimat NU 10 Khodijah Kindergarten Bangil. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing through cross-site analysis. The findings reveal that HRM strategies are implemented through five major stages: teacher workforce planning, competency-based recruitment, continuous professional development, performance supervision and evaluation, and the provision of motivation and rewards. These strategies have contributed to improving teachers' pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. Supporting factors include effective school leadership, a collaborative organizational culture, teachers' commitment, and support from the governing organization. Conversely, limited financial resources, unequal access to professional training opportunities, and excessive administrative workloads remain significant barriers. This study proposes a Sustainable Integrative Human Resource Management Strategy Model that integrates workforce planning, competency development, academic supervision, performance evaluation, and a reward system into a continuous cycle for enhancing kindergarten teachers' professionalism.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic education requires learning approaches that not only focus on knowledge acquisition but also support students in understanding, internalizing, and applying religious values in their daily lives. In Akidah Akhlak learning, a gap remains between students’ theoretical understanding of religious concepts and their ability to relate these values to real-life experiences. This study aims to analyze the transformation of Akidah Akhlak learning through active learning strategies in achieving meaningful learning. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design conducted at MTs Al-Hidayah Purwokerto. The research subjects consisted of an Akidah Akhlak teacher and eighth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that the implementation of active learning through group discussions, Problem Solving, Gallery Walk, and Market Place Activity transforms Akidah Akhlak learning from teacher-centered instruction into a more participatory, collaborative, and reflective process. Furthermore, these strategies contribute to the development of meaningful learning by enabling students to connect new knowledge with previous experiences, understand the relevance of Akidah Akhlak values, and reflect on their application in everyday life. This study highlights that active learning functions not merely as a strategy to increase student participation but as a transformative pedagogical approach for developing deeper understanding and value internalization in Islamic education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze teachers' professional competence in teaching Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at SMK Tujuh Lima 1 Purwokerto, with a particular focus on subject matter mastery, the selection and implementation of instructional methods, the utilization of learning media, and the conduct of learning assessment. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design to gain an in-depth understanding of classroom teaching practices. Data were collected through direct classroom observations, interviews with Islamic Religious Education teachers and students, and documentation related to the instructional process. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the trustworthiness of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the teachers' professional competence in teaching Islamic Religious Education at SMK Tujuh Lima 1 Purwokerto has been implemented effectively. This is reflected in the teachers' ability to demonstrate comprehensive mastery of the subject matter, present content systematically and contextually, employ a variety of interactive instructional methods, and utilize learning media, including technology-based media, to enhance students' understanding. Furthermore, the teachers were able to conduct creative and educational assessments and manage the classroom effectively. Although several challenges were encountered, including differences in students' levels of understanding and occasionally less conducive classroom conditions, the teachers successfully addressed these challenges through adaptive instructional strategies and educational approaches, thereby ensuring that the learning process remained effective and meaningful.

Abstract

This study aims to discover speaking ability through advertisement in English. Speaking is one of English skills needed in working area. By having fluent English, people can have chance globally. Students need to prepare to have good English when they are still in the university. Mangement students need to have good English in Business English for working after they graduate. Advertisement is as one of the topics in Business English that is used to improve speaking ability in English. The students advertise products in English. This research used survey research. It used closed-ended questionnaire and open ended questionnaire. The results were students’ English speaking ability improved after advertising products in English. They were also more confident and had more vocabularies and knew how to make good sentences. Future studies can focus on exploring other topics of English in other study programs and compare the results of the improvement in speaking English.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of local government in promoting sustainable economic development in Sungai Penuh City. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. The findings reveal that the local government plays a central role as: (1) a catalyst for the transition toward a green economy, (2) an integrator of diverse local interests and potentials, (3) a guardian of environmental sustainability and local wisdom, and (4) an innovator in formulating contextually appropriate solutions. By leveraging its strategic location within a conservation area and the local wisdom of its communities, Sungai Penuh has the potential to become a model for ecosystem-based sustainable urban development that preserves the Kerinci Seblat National Park (TNKS) while fostering inclusive prosperity for its citizens.

Abstract

This research was prompted by the implementation of Padang Mayor Regulation Number 25 of 2023 concerning the 112 Emergency Call Service, which aims to provide rapid, integrated, and easily accessible emergency services. However, implementation faces challenges such as low public awareness, suboptimal outreach, and a high volume of prank and ghost calls. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Padang Mayor Regulation Number 25 of 2023 regarding the 112 Emergency Call Service in handling emergencies in Padang City. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. Informants were selected using purposive sampling and included representatives from the Padang City Communication and Informatics Agency, PCC 112 operators, the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Fire Department, the Public Order Enforcers (Satpol PP), and the general public. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation review, while data analysis utilized data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the PCC 112 service has performed effectively based on indicators of achievement, integration, and adaptation. The service facilitates public access to emergency assistance through a single call number and enhances inter-agency coordination. However, service effectiveness remains suboptimal due to challenges such as low public awareness, uneven outreach, and the high frequency of prank and ghost calls, which impact operator performance. Therefore, increased public outreach, human resource capacity building, and service system improvements are necessary to optimize the 112 emergency call service.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the Bengkulu Offering Dance extracurricular activity in developing kinesthetic intelligence among early childhood students at TK Aisyiyah 2 Bustanul Athfal 2, Karang Suci Village. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The results showed that the Bengkulu Offering Dance extracurricular activity was implemented through several stages, including the introduction of dance movements, practice using counting rhythms, practice with music accompaniment, and evaluation. The dance activity contributed to the development of children's kinesthetic intelligence, as reflected in their ability to control body movements, maintain balance, coordinate movements, understand spatial orientation, and improve self-confidence and cooperation with peers. Although there were some obstacles, such as limited practice space and insufficient parental support, the dance activity was carried out effectively and provided positive benefits for children's development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how much: (1) the influence of creativity on the entrepreneurial readiness of Culinary Phase F Students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang (2) the influence of digital literacy on the entrepreneurial readiness of Culinary Phase F Students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang, (3) the influence of creativity and digital literacy on the entrepreneurial readiness of Culinary Phase F Students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang. This study was conducted at SMK Negeri 6 Padang, the method used in the study was a quantitative method with data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires to respondents. Respondents in this study were Culinary phase F students at SMK Negeri 6 Padang. The population in this study was 106 culinary students of phase F with a sample size of 84 students. Sampling in this study used proportional random sampling or random sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire then analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25 and the hypothesis was tested using the t test and F test. The results of this study indicate that (1) the influence of creativity has a positive and significant effect on the entrepreneurial readiness of culinary students of phase F at SMK Negeri 6 Padang with a t-value of 3.708 ˃ 1.980 with a significance level of 0.000 less than 0.05. (2) There is a positive and significant influence of digital literacy on entrepreneurial readiness with a t-value of 7.732 ˃ from 1.980 with a significance level of 0.020 <0.05. (3) There is a simultaneous influence of creativity and digital literacy on the entrepreneurial readiness of culinary students of F phase at SMK Negeri 6 Padang, with the obtained F count ˃ F table value of 149.874 ˃ 3.908 and significant at 0.000 < 0.05.

Abstract

The drastic decline in SMEs units in Kerinci Regency from 12,400 to 7,468 within a single year signals a structural crisis requiring immediate evidence-based interventions. This study examines the effects of green advertising and eco-friendly packaging on green purchase intention for sustainable SME products in Kerinci Regency. Using an explanatory quantitative design with 130 respondents selected through purposive sampling, data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results reveal that green advertising and eco-friendly packaging each have a positive and significant partial effect on green purchase intention. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence green purchase intention, though they explain only a limited portion of the variation. Notably, eco-friendly packaging demonstrates a stronger influence compared to green advertising, indicating that Kerinci consumers respond more to tangible physical evidence than abstract persuasive messages. These findings provide practical guidance for SMEs and policymakers in allocating limited resources toward green marketing strategies, emphasizing the prioritization of innovative and informative eco-friendly packaging development to enhance consumer purchase intentions. This research contributes to the green marketing literature by contextualizing consumer behavior theory within rural SME ecosystems undergoing structural pressure and economic contraction.
