Abstract

The choice of learning methods and the gender perspective are crucial topics in modern Islamic education, but their actual impact on standardized cognitive outcomes is frequently debated. This study aims to comparatively analyze the differences in Final Semester Assessment (PAS) scores for Fiqh subjects based on three learning methods (Demonstration, Mind Mapping, and Lecture) and gender. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto causal-comparative design was employed at MAN 2 Kota Bandung, involving a sample of 108 tenth-grade students selected via total sampling across three parallel classes. Data collection used documentation of objective PAS scores. Due to the violation of the normality assumption (Shapiro-Wilk and Kolmogorov-Smirnov p < 0.05), hypothesis testing was shifted to the non-parametric Median Test. The results revealed: (1) there is no significant difference in Fiqh PAS scores among students taught using Demonstration, Mind Mapping, and Lecture methods (Asymp. Sig. = 1.000 > 0.05), with all groups achieving an identical median score of 87.00; (2) there is no significant difference in Fiqh PAS scores based on gender (Asymp. Sig. = 0.452 > 0.05). Consequently, the initial hypothesis was rejected. This study concludes that within the context of written objective evaluations, conventional methods exhibit cognitive effectiveness equivalent to active methods for both male and female students at MAN 2 Kota Bandung.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Sufahā’ in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 13 and 142 and its relevance to the phenomenon of disinformation in the digital era. The study employed the tafsir maudhu'i (thematic exegesis) method using theological, epistemological, and contextual approaches within a library research framework. The findings reveal three main points. First, the concept of Sufahā’ refers not only to intellectual ignorance but also to an epistemological crisis characterized by the inability to understand and position truth appropriately. Second, the characteristics of Sufahā’ are reflected in individuals who perceive themselves as unquestionably correct, are reluctant to verify information, and rely on reasoning detached from the guidance of divine revelation. Third, the phenomenon of disinformation in the digital era represents a contemporary manifestation of the characteristics of Sufahā’, as reflected in the dissemination of information without tabayyun (verification). These findings demonstrate that integrating reason and revelation, together with strengthening Qur'anic digital literacy, is highly relevant to fostering critical awareness, moral responsibility, and information verification skills in contemporary digital society.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of legal awareness and legal understanding among poor communities in Padang City, as well as the suboptimal implementation of legal counseling conducted by the Padang Legal Aid Institute (LBH Padang). These conditions have limited the ability of poor communities to access justice and legal assistance. The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of LBH Padang in implementing legal counseling for poor communities and to identify the factors influencing its implementation. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants were selected purposively and consisted of LBH Padang officials, legal counselors, and community members who had participated in legal counseling activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that LBH Padang has carried out its role in providing legal counseling by disseminating legal information, improving public understanding of legal rights and obligations, empowering communities, and facilitating access to legal aid services. However, the implementation of legal counseling still faces several challenges, including limited human resources, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, limited outreach coverage, and the low level of community participation and legal awareness. Therefore, stronger collaboration among LBH, the government, and the community is needed to improve the effectiveness of legal counseling and expand access to justice for poor communities in Padang City.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become one of the strategic priorities in educational reform in Indonesia. Digitalization is no longer used solely as a learning medium but has evolved into a key instrument for improving the effectiveness of educational management, accountability, and school governance. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digitalized educational management, identify the factors influencing its successful implementation, and examine its impact on enhancing accountability and organizational transformation in elementary schools. The study employed a qualitative approach using a multisite case study design conducted at SDN Pogar II Bangil and SD Nahdlatul Ulama Bangil, Pasuruan Regency. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis involving school principals, teachers, administrative staff, school operators, and other relevant stakeholders. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, with credibility ensured through source and methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that digitalization has been implemented in various aspects of school management, including academic administration, school information systems, digital attendance, student learning outcome reporting, and communication with parents through digital platforms. The successful implementation of digitalization is influenced by school leadership, the digital competencies of human resources, policy support, and the availability of technological infrastructure. Digitalization has positively contributed to improving transparency, administrative efficiency, data management accuracy, decision-making speed, and organizational culture, leading to more adaptive and accountable school governance. The findings highlight that the digitalization of educational management is not merely the adoption of technology but a comprehensive organizational transformation process that requires strong leadership commitment, human resource readiness, and data-driven governance.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the widespread assumptions claiming that the Day of Judgment will occur on a specific date or time, despite the Qur'anic teaching that only Allah knows when it will take place. Accordingly, this study examines the interpretation of Surah Al-Qāri‘ah through the perspectives of Al-Ṭabarī and Buya Hamka to provide a more accurate understanding of the Qur'anic message regarding the Day of Judgment. This research employed a library research approach using the comparative exegesis (tafsīr muqāran) method. The primary data sources were Tafsir al-Ṭabarī and Tafsir al-Azhar, supported by relevant secondary references. The findings indicate that neither exegete specifies the exact time of the Day of Judgment, as its occurrence remains known only to Allah. Instead, both interpretations emphasize the conditions and events preceding and following the Day of Judgment. The analysis also reveals that Surah Al-Qāri‘ah possesses distinctive characteristics, particularly in its linguistic style. The repeated use of the term Al-Qāri‘ah strengthens the emphasis of the message, and the surah directly describes the condition of humanity and the Day of Judgment more explicitly than other related chapters, such as Surah Al-Zalzalah, which primarily focuses on the recompense of human deeds. Furthermore, the comparative analysis shows that both Al-Ṭabarī and Buya Hamka employ the tahlīlī method of Qur'anic exegesis, interpreting the Qur'an sequentially from Surah Al-Fātiḥah to Surah An-Nās. Both commentaries also share a linguistic (lughawī) orientation; however, their approaches differ. Buya Hamka emphasizes the linguistic and cultural context of the Indonesian archipelago, whereas Al-Ṭabarī bases his interpretation primarily on transmitted narrations (riwāyah).

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has brought significant changes to the field of education. One of the emerging innovations in learning is AI-powered chatbots, which provide interactive support to students throughout the learning process. This study aims to examine the integration of AI and chatbots in Indonesian language learning and their impact on improving the writing skills of upper elementary school students. The study employed a library research approach by analyzing relevant scholarly literature on the use of AI, educational chatbots, and writing instruction in elementary education. The findings indicate that AI and chatbot technologies can assist students in generating writing ideas, expanding vocabulary, improving grammar and spelling, and enhancing motivation to write. In addition, chatbots enable students to receive immediate and personalized feedback, making the learning process more effective and engaging. Nevertheless, the implementation of AI in education still requires teacher guidance to ensure that the technology is used wisely, critically, and in alignment with instructional objectives. Therefore, the integration of AI and chatbots has considerable potential as an innovative instructional approach to improving the writing skills of upper elementary school students in the digital era.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial factor in determining the success of educational delivery. The increasing demand for teacher professionalism in the era of digital transformation requires teachers to possess strong work motivation and the ability to adopt digital innovations in the teaching and learning process. However, evidence from the field indicates that teachers' levels of motivation and utilization of digital innovation vary considerably, potentially affecting their performance. This study aims to examine the effect of work motivation on teacher performance, the effect of digital innovation on teacher performance, and the simultaneous effect of work motivation and digital innovation on the performance of elementary school teachers in Pasrepan District. This study employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto research design. The study population consisted of all 70 elementary school teachers in Pasrepan District. A saturated sampling technique was applied, whereby the entire population was included as research respondents. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires based on a Likert scale, which had been tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings indicate that: (1) work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (t = 7.599, p < 0.001); (2) digital innovation does not have a significant partial effect on teacher performance (t = 0.270, p = 0.788); and (3) work motivation and digital innovation simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (F = 202.718, p < 0.001). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.858 indicates that 85.8% of the variance in teacher performance can be explained by work motivation and digital innovation, while the remaining 14.2% is attributable to other factors not examined in this study. The study concludes that work motivation is the dominant factor influencing the performance of elementary school teachers in Pasrepan District. In contrast, digital innovation does not have a significant partial effect on teacher performance. Therefore, efforts to improve teacher performance should prioritize strengthening teachers' work motivation while simultaneously enhancing their digital competencies and providing adequate technological infrastructure to maximize the benefits of digital innovation for teaching quality and teacher performance.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the importance of improving the quality of educational services in elementary schools as a key indicator of successful educational management. In the digital era, schools' use of social media and parental support are considered important factors that may contribute to enhancing the quality of educational services. This study aims to examine the effect of social media utilization on the quality of educational services, the effect of parental support on the quality of educational services, and the simultaneous effect of social media utilization and parental support on the quality of educational services in public and private elementary schools in Beji District, Pasuruan Regency. The study employed a quantitative approach using a correlational research design. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to 77 respondents, consisting of teachers and school principals from public and private elementary schools in Beji District. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings indicate that social media utilization has a positive and significant effect on the quality of educational services. Parental support also has a positive and significant effect on the quality of educational services. Furthermore, the simultaneous influence of social media utilization and parental support significantly improves the quality of educational services. These findings support the SERVQUAL model, Social Support Theory, and the concept of communication technology utilization in education, all of which emphasize the importance of effective communication, collaboration, and stakeholder participation in improving educational service quality. This study implies that optimizing the use of social media and strengthening parental involvement are essential strategies for enhancing the quality of educational services in elementary schools. Future studies are recommended to expand the research area, increase the number of respondents, and examine additional variables that may influence the quality of educational services.
