Abstract

This study's objective is to provide a description of one approach to enhancing reading abilities, namely through the utilization of the phonics technique. In addition, the purpose of this research is to investigate the efficacy of the phonics approach in improving reading abilities in the context of language acquisition. Phonics is a teaching strategy that places an emphasis on the connection between individual letters and the sounds they represent. This method assists pupils in better comprehending the structures of words and how they should be spoken. All of the participants in this study are elementary school pupils, and the research is conducted using a quantitative methodology and an experimental design. This strategy was implemented, and the findings of the study demonstrate that students' reading skills significantly improved after it was implemented. This development was notably noticeable in the areas of letter recognition, pronunciation, and word comprehension. Data collection tools in this study involved searching journals online through platforms like Google Scholar. This study aims to analyze how the phonics method can enhance students' reading skills in the context of Indonesian language learning. This study investigates the efficacy of the phonics approach in increasing students' reading abilities, including decoding skills and reading comprehension, by conducting a literature evaluation of fifteen research publications that have been published over the past five years. The findings of the review suggest that the phonics technique is an excellent means of enhancing the reading abilities of kids, and this holds true for students who have normal reading abilities as well as students who are trying to improve their reading abilities. This makes the phonics method a relevant approach for implementation in Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

The Discovery Learning (DL) paradigm is a learning approach that encourages students to independently discover knowledge and concepts through active engagement in the learning process. This approach has been widely applied in various teaching methods, particularly in Indonesian language learning. However, traditional teaching methods, such as lectures, are still frequently used in many classrooms, where the teacher plays a dominant role and minimally involves students actively. As a result, students lose interest and enthusiasm for the material being taught and are less engaged in the learning process.The implementation of the Discovery Learning model provides opportunities for students to be more active in the learning process, thereby supporting the successful achievement of learning objectives. This study aims to analyze how the Discovery Learning approach can improve elementary school students' reading comprehension skills. The approach used in this research is a literature review of previous studies published in the last five years.A total of 15 relevant articles were collected and analyzed to gain insights into the effectiveness of this learning model. The results of the review indicate that Discovery Learning can enhance student engagement, build better reading comprehension, and increase students' interest in learning. Therefore, Discovery Learning is an effective learning model to be applied in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the time token cooperative learning paradigm in improving elementary school students' speaking skills, particularly in the context of learning the Indonesian language. Communication skills are defined as the ability to engage in meaningful and beneficial exchanges with others. The time token cooperative learning model utilizes coupons or tokens to ensure active participation of all group members, provide each student with a fair opportunity to speak, and keep students focused on assigned tasks. This research was conducted using a literature review method, evaluating relevant sources published over the past five years. A total of 15 articles meeting the inclusion criteria were analyzed. The results indicate that implementing the time token cooperative learning model significantly helps elementary school students enhance their speaking fluency. These findings provide valuable insights for educators in Indonesia, offering an alternative and innovative approach to improve students' communication skills in teaching the Indonesian language at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study investigates the resilience of Pesantren-based Madrasahs in Yasinat, Jember, focusing on how they sustain their existence amid social, economic, and technological challenges. The research aims to explore the factors contributing to the durability of these institutions in maintaining educational quality and social relevance. A qualitative case study approach is employed, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation as primary data collection methods. The findings reveal that these madrasahs exhibit notable resilience, primarily driven by integrating traditional values, active community engagement, and effective adaptations to technological advancements and educational curricula. This resilience ensures their ability to navigate and overcome challenges, preserving their societal role. In conclusion, despite external pressures, Pesantren-based madrasahs in Yasinat continue to thrive and maintain their educational mission, demonstrating significant capacity for adaptation and continuity.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the writer's interest in the various styles of exegesis (tafsir) that have developed, and the tendency for each style to have its own characteristics. Among the styles of exegesis, there are those with linguistic, philosophical, Sufi, legal, scientific, literary, and social characteristics. In its development, not only these styles exist, but in West Sumatra, the polemic between traditionalist and modernist groups has also influenced the interpretation styles of scholars in the context of certain verses. Traditionalists are a group that emphasizes the importance of tradition in understanding everything, including in the study of exegesis. Meanwhile, the modernist group emphasizes modern characteristics in responding to everything, including their study of the Quranic verses (tafsir). This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach (Library Research). The primary sources in this research are the exegesis books al-Qaul al-Bayan and al-Burhan. Secondary sources include books, articles, and scholarly writings related to the research. The analysis in this study uses the characteristics of traditionalism and modernism. The findings show that the traditionalist characteristics are evident in al-Qaul al-Bayan in five ways: referring to the four founders of the schools of thought, particularly Imam Shafi'i, i.e., the Quran, Hadith, Ijma' (consensus), and Qiyas (analogy); the knowledge is reinforced in classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning); it is influenced by the religious teachings of Sufism, particularly Imam Ghazali; it justifies additional practices; and it emphasizes the importance of tariqa (spiritual paths). The modernist characteristics are evident in al-Burhan in three ways: its ideology refers to the Quran and Sunnah, it uses a rational approach to oppose bid'ah (innovation) and khurafat (superstition), and it focuses more on the enhancement of faith.

Abstract

Pengaruh permainan Treasure Hunt terhadap pengajaran kosakata bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas VII di Madrasah Islam Bai'aturrudhwan Tangah Sawah Bukit Tinggi Jurusan Pendidikan Bahasa Arab Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pendidikan dan Ilmu Pendidikan. Universitas Islam Negeri Syekh Muhammad Jameel Jambek, Bukittinggi. Hasil penelitian Treasure Hunt menemukan adanya pengaruh permainan Treasure Hunt dalam pengajaran kosakata bahasa Arab kepada siswa. Rata-rata hasil pretest sebesar 47,63 dan posttest sebesar 77,11 terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan. Ada konsekuensi alami. Hasil normal mendapatkan 0,944 lebih besar dari 0,05. Terdapat pengaruh antara pre-test dan post-test terhadap hasil belajar kosakata bahasa Arab. Dari tabel Paired Sample Test diatas diketahui nilai sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 dikurangi 0,05 (sig. 0,000 < 0,05). Berdasarkan nilai t_hitung dari hasil SPSS Statistics 22 yaitu 18,422 dan t_(tabel) nilai yang diperoleh adalah 2,10092 sehingga t_hitung > t_(tabel) sehingga H_o ditolak, dan 〖H〗_a diterima.

Abstract

Cooperatives are business entities that drive the community's economy with a business model owned collectively by their members. The Cooperative of the Republic of Indonesia Employees (KPRI) is the most common type of cooperative among active cooperatives in Bangkalan, with savings and loan operations as its main business activity. This research aims to classify KPRI based on its financial ratios using the K-Means Clustering algorithm. The data collected for this research consists of 47 financial data points from the KPRI, obtained from the Annual General Meeting reports of the cooperatives available at the Cooperative and Micro Business Office of Bangkalan Regency. Data preprocessing used the Correlation Matrix method and was then normalized using MinMax scaling. The K-Means method requires a value of k, which in this research was determined using the elbow method. The optimal value of k found was 3, indicating that three clusters of KPRI were generated. The results show the characteristics of each group based on their financial ratio conditions. The analysis of the average ratio in each group showed that Group 0 has weaknesses in the return on assets ratio and the return on equity. Group 1 has weaknesses in the current ratio and return on equity, while Group 2 has weaknesses in the current ratio and all types of profitability ratios. In the clustering results, Group 2 comprises 51.06% of the total data, meaning that half of the active KPRI in Bangkalan have issues with their liquidity and profitability ratios. Meanwhile, Group 0 contains 36.17% of the members, and Group 1 has 12.76%.

Abstract

This study examines the role of security personnel in servicing visitors at Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang. As a major sports complex hosting national and international events, Jakabaring Sport City requires effective security measures to ensure the safety and comfort of its visitors. Data collection for this research was conducted from July 1 to August 1, using qualitative methods, including interviews, observations, and surveys. The data were analyzed using three main techniques: (1) Data Reduction, (2) Data Display, and (3) Conclusion Drawing.The findings indicate that security personnel play a vital role not only in managing crowd control and preventing incidents but also in enhancing the overall visitor experience by addressing emergencies promptly. However, the research reveals some areas for improvement in communication between security teams and event organizers, as well as the need for additional training to better handle large-scale events The study suggests several recommendations, including increasing the number of security staff during peak events, improving coordination through regular briefings, and offering specialized training in handling diverse crowds. These enhancements could significantly improve the balance between ensuring safety and providing a positive, welcoming atmosphere for visitors at large sporting venues.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the use of Indonesian and Acehnese languages in the learning process at PAUD Farisa, Aceh Besar District. This study used a qualitative approach with acase study method. The subjects of the study were three teachers, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Indonesian is predominantly used by teachers in all stages of the learning process. In the opening stage, Indonesian is used to greet students and convey the learning objectives. During the main activities, Indonesian is utilized to explain materials and provide instructions, while Acehnese is selectively used for storytelling, singing traditional songs, and strengthening social bonds. In the closing stage, Indonesian is again used to summarize lessons and deliver messages to children. Barriers to using Acehnese include limited culturally-based learning resources and teachers' lack of proficiency in effectively using the language. Teachers address these challenges by creating simple media, such as illustrated folk tales, and involving children in interactive discussions. These findings support Vygotsky's theory on the role of social interaction in children's language development and Chomsky's theory emphasizing the innate ability of children to acquire language. This study recommends that teachers balance the use of both languages, provide culturally-based learning materials, and involve parents in supporting the preservation of the Acehnese language at home and school.Kata Kunci: Acehnese Language; Early Childhood Education Learning Process; Indonesian Language; Language Use

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that Madrasah education in Indonesia cannot be separated from the influence of Islamic Boarding School values ​​which are integrated into it. Islamic boarding schools, which are the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, play an active role in facilitating various components in formal educational institutions in Indonesia, especially Madrasas. Islamic boarding school values ​​can be integrated with Madrasah management and have an important role in various aspects that can influence the success of madrasah governance in achieving its goals as a formal educational institution in Indonesia, one of which is MTs Ma'arif Cikedung Maja Majalengka. This research aims to identify and assess the impact of Islamic Boarding School values ​​on Madrasah management at MTs Ma'arif Cikedung Maja Majalengka. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive research method. The techniques used are interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this research show that Islamic boarding school values ​​in madrasa management at MTs Ma'arif Cikedung include the madrasa curriculum which integrates the teaching of morals, worship and independence.
