Sabdasastra : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa
abdasastra : Jurnal Pendidikan Bahasa Jawa (Sabdasastra : Journal of Javanese Language Education) is an open-access journal published by Department of Javanese Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret. The first issue of 2017 Volume 1 No 1 has ten articles. Sabdasastra has two issues in a year and it will be published in March and September. The focus and scope of this journal are language education, literature, philology, linguistics, culture, and local wisdom in Java.

<![CDATA[AbstrackThis research aims to describe the feasibility of the contents of the Javanese Wursita Basa textbook for class IX SMP/SMPLB/MTs published by CV. Friends This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data analysis techniques use interactive analysis, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Content feasibility data and language feasibility are analyzed with instruments compiled based on relevant theories and information and assessments from several sources. Data validity test using researcher and theory triangulation. In triangulation, researchers involved other researchers, namely Dewinta Enha Putri (DEP). Content eligibility is reviewed from the appropriateness of the material, accuracy of the material, and the content of the learning material, while language eligibility is reviewed from the appropriateness of the language with the level of development of the students, communicative, as well as the sequence and unity of ideas. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the feasibility of the content of the Wursita Basa Javanese textbook obtained a percentage of 79.6% from the average score of 25.5 and a maximum score of 32Keywords: textbook, contents feasibility, curriculum of 2013]]>

<![CDATA[A novel depicts the socio-cultural conditions of a society in the form of fiction and contains dramatic elements. One of the values contained in the novel is cultural value. Untu Hiu by Asti Pradnya Ratri is a Javanese novel that incorporates cultural elements. This study utilizes a qualitative descriptive method with a literary anthropology approach to examine the cultural elements contained within the novel Untu Hiu by Asti Pradnya Ratri. The data for this study consist of the analysis of documents, including words, phrases, clauses, and sentences found in the novel Untu Hiu by Asti Pradnya Ratri. The data collection for this study is conducted using document analysis with note-taking techniques. The results of this study indicate the presence of seven cultural elements in the novel Untu Hiu by Asti Pradnya Ratri, including: 1) language in the form of speech levels and dialects of Javanese; 2) knowledge system in the form of knowledge about the Javanese time calculation system; 3) social organization in the form of kinship systems, village government systems, and fishermen's social groups; 4) life equipment and technology systems in the form of cooking utensils, transportation tools, communication tools, and clothing; 5) livelihood system in the form of batik trade; 6) religious system in the form of belief in God, religious rituals, and myths; and 7) arts in the form of batik, carvings, songs, and wayang.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keaktifan belajar membaca teks naratif berhuruf jawa dengan metode Tutor Sebaya (peer tutoring) pada peserta didik kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 4 Sragen Kabupaten Sragen Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2022/ 2023. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah MetodeTutor Sebaya (peer tutoring). Metode Tutor Sebaya (peer tutoring) memiliki kelebihan yaitu: menghilangkan ketakutan yang sering disebabkan oleh perbedaan umur, status antara peserta didik dan guru, antar peserta didik lebih mudah bekerja sama dan komunikasi, lebih mungkin terjadi pembelajaran personal antara teman dengan teman, tutor teman lebih sabar terhadap teman yang lamban dalam belajar, lebih efektif karena peserta didik yang lemah akan dibantu tepat pada kekurangannya, tumbuhnya rasa toleransi serta saling membantu dan mendukung dalam memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik analisi deskriptif komparatif, yaitu membandingkan nilai tes pada keadaan awal sebelum tindakan (PraSiklus), tes setelah Siklus 1 dan nilai tes setelah Siklus 2. Hasil Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini yaitu hasil rerata skor keaktifan siswa meningkat dari 53,13% pada kondisi awal menjadi 74,38% pada Siklus I, dan 82,5% pada Siklus II, sehingga terjadi peningkatan 29,37. Penerapan metode Tutor Sebaya (peer tutoring) dapat meningkatkan keaktifan belajar membaca teks naratif berhuruf jawa pada siswa kelas VIII G SMP Negeri 4 Sragen, Kabupaten Sragen Semester Genap Tahun Pelajaran 2022/ 2023.]]>

<![CDATA[Javanese noble advice (pitutur luhur Jawa) is noble teachings handed down by the ancestors. But now, with the advancement of technology, it is difficult for people to understand and apply that Javanese noble advice. The purpose of this study is to describe the sublime Javanese noble advice in the song Gambuh Serat Wulangreh. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a content analysis approach. The data used in this study are the Javanese noble advice of the Tembang Gambuh Serat Wulangreh, which was obtained from the data source in the form of a document, namely the text of the Tembang Gambuh Serat Wulangreh. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the Javanese noble advice in the Gambuh Serat Wulangreh song includes 5 dimensions, namely: (1) the dimensions of ethics and manners are shown by avoiding arrogant attitudes towards others; (2) the dimensions of justice and truth are shown by not looking at people with one eye; (3) the dimensions of social relations are shown by the way they behave in the social environment; (4) the dimension of intimacy is shown by maintaining the trust given by others; and (5) the tolerance dimension is shown by appreciating the gifts of others. This research can provide an easier understanding of the noble advice in a Tembang, so that can be used as learning material in schools.]]>

<![CDATA[This study examines how hierarchical values are expressed and maintained through language in both Javanese and Japanese societies. Its goal is to explore the role of language in articulating and reinforcing social stratification in two different cultural settings. Using a comparative ethnographic approach, the study examines how these linguistic systems function within their respective socio-cultural contexts. The results show that both languages employ language codes heavily influenced by factors such as age, social status, and proximity between individuals. This linguistic practice not only functions as a marker of politeness but also as a tool to manage power dynamics and uphold traditional norms. The discussion highlights how language choices serve as mechanisms for asserting social standing and shaping identities within hierarchical structures. In conclusion, this article demonstrates that understanding language practices provides valuable information about cultural concepts, emphasizing respect and obedience within social hierarchies. It also advocates for further cross-cultural research to deepen the understanding of how language reflects and influences social hierarchies.]]>

<![CDATA[Bahasa Jawa merupakan salah satu bahasa komunikasi di masyarakat Jawa. Seiring berjalannya waktu, bahasa Jawa mengalami perubahan makna dengan berbagai konteks yang menyertainya. Oleh karena itu, bahasa Jawa sedikit banyak membutuhkan pemerincian makna agar tidak terjadi tumpang tindih. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian medan makna dengan menganalisis leksem “Tidur” dalam bahasa Jawa Suroboyoan. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk menemukan karakter dan macam medan makna apa saja yang terdapat dalam leksem tersebut. Dengan memanfaatkan teori analisis komponen makna, penelitian ini juga diupayakan untuk mengklasifikasikan komponen yang masih saling berhubungan serta mencari perbedaan signifikannya. Penelitian ini memiliki dua tujuan, yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan modifikasi medan makna tidur dalam bahasa Jawa Suroboyoan dan (2) mendeskripsikan persamaan dan perbedaan modifikasi medan makna tidur dalam bahasa Jawa Suroboyoan. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Metode penyediaan data pada penelitian ini adalah baca-catat (baca-markah) yang didapat dari bausastra dan angket dari informan sebagai data pemerlengkapnya (crosscheck temuan). Metode analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis komponen makna. Hasil dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menemukan sedikit banyak perbedaan leksem “Tidur” dalam bahasa Jawa Suroboyoan dari berbagai komponen, sehingga dapat diklasifikasikan secara rinci.]]>

<![CDATA[The Anggara Kasih tradition ceremony is one of the local cultures which still carried out today because there are local wisdom values in it. This study aims to explain the local wisdom values that exist in the Anggara Kasih Patirtan Cabean Kunti tradition and its relevance as Javanese teaching material in junior high school on the basic competencies of analyzing descriptive texts about regional traditional ceremonies. The data obtained in this research is qualitative data in the form of interviews. The sampling technique used in this research is snowball sampling. Data collection was done with three techniques, namely observation, interview, and document analysis. The technique used for validity testing is triangulation of data sources. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the research that have been conducted can be concluded as follows: (1) the local wisdom values contained in the Anggara Kasih tradition are: religious values, social values, cultural values, and environmental protection values; (2) the Anggara Kasih tradition carried out in Cabean Kunti village has relevance as teaching material in junior high school because it has four aspects, including: divine aspects, social aspects, cognitive aspects, and skills aspects. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers to choose teaching materials about traditions that exist in their own area and be able to motivate students to study hard because they know firsthand the implementation of these traditions.]]>

<![CDATA[THE AFFIXATION PROCESS IN CRIKAK 'DUDU RAMA LAN SHINTA' BY SURYADI WS. AS AN UNDERSTANDING OF JAVANESE WORD MEANINGSStudying affixations has become a common thing for literature enthusiasts. This research examines affixations in the crikak text entitled "Dudu Rama lan Shinta" by Suryadi WS. In the Panjebar Semangat media, Javanese short stories are a genre in modern Javanese literature. This research aims to examine affixation and understand the meaning of Javanese words. The method used in this research is library research using a qualitative descriptive approach, document analysis by repeatedly reading sentences and taking notes and making a list of words that have undergone a morphological process. This research data is in the form of written data with affixed words and the research data source is documents in the form of crikak from the Panjebar Semangat magazine. The results of the research show that the affixations found in the crikak of the Panjebar Semangat magazine are: {1} 6 ater-ater (prefix), {2} 5 seselan (infix), {3} 7 panambang (suffix), {4} 9 affixes together (confix) which consists of 3 affixes together in a row and 6 affixes in a row. From the results of this research, it can be found that the concurrent affix (confix) has the most data, namely 9 data including {ka- + -an}, {pa- + -an}, {ke- + -an}, {ng- + - i}, {ng- + - ake}, {di- + -i}, {di- + -ake}, {dak- + -ake} and {sa- + -e}.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research is to explain the implementation of the drill and practice method to train students' communication in Javanese on social media. The method used is drill and practice. The results of the service show that there are students who do not dare to use Javanese appropriately when communicating in the real world and the virtual world. Some students feel hesitant when asking or answering using Javanese. The service team then interacted with the students to practice using the drill and practice method. Students are invited to interact in groups by practicing orally and in writing using simple Javanese words. Through the drill and practice method, they are able to practice Javanese conversation and writing according to uploads well and correctly based on the person they are communicating with. Students are able to write Javanese sentences in the form of congratulations, greetings, condolences, thank you which are often used on their social media.]]>

<![CDATA[Morphology, as a branch of linguistics, studies the structure of words and changes in meaning, where morphemes and allomorphs play a crucial role. Traditional Javanese songs, which have undergone transformations through reinterpretation by young artists, capture the attention of a new generation and demonstrate the cultural relevance of Javanese heritage in the digital era. This study employs a qualitative method with a discourse analysis approach to identify phonemic changes in the lyrics of the song "Lestari." Data were collected through documentation of the song's lyrics and analyzed using theories of phonology and morphology. The analysis process involved identification, classification, and inductive interpretation of the data. The aim of this research is to identify patterns of phonemic changes in the lyrics of "Lestari" and the significance of these changes within an aesthetic context. Through a discourse analysis approach, this study elucidates the creative use of language to generate poetic effects and contributes to the field of linguistics, particularly in morphology and phonology. The findings reveal the addition of the phonemes /ha/ and /a/ at the beginning of root words, such as jangkep becoming hanjangkepi (to complete), kidung becoming hangidung (to sing), and padhang becoming Amadhangi (to illuminate). These changes not only enhance the beauty of the lyrics but also clarify their meaning and poetic nuances, demonstrating that the Javanese language possesses the ability to create aesthetically pleasing sound variations in art and literature.]]>
