Abstract

Cimenyan District has a problem in the form of accumulation of waste which pollutes the environment and endangers health. Another problem is the very high price of animal feed because it has to be imported from abroad. An alternative solution to these two problems is to use the Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF). BSF maggot is proven to be able to decompose organic waste, it is also animal feed that has high nutrition. Research objectives: (1) to describe the implementation of community development activities regarding how to cultivate BSF maggot in Cimenyan District, (2) to analyze the results of a simulation on the future prospects for BSF maggot cultivation to motivate training participants and readers regarding its potential. This coaching involved 17 participants which was carried out online and offline. Participants were given modules and then guided to carry out cultivation practices. The author also simulated the prospects for BSF maggot cultivation using the dynamic system method. The output of this research is how to cultivate BSF maggot and simulation results using a dynamic system which shows the potential for very good BSF maggot cultivation in the next ten years that the government needs to consider both in reducing organic waste, as a substitute for animal feed, and as a business product to create a circular economy and also support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) targetsCimenyan District has a problem in the form of accumulation of waste which pollutes the environment and endangers health. Abstract

Digital literacy must be instilled as early as possible, starting at least formally from elementary schools (SD). However, digital literacy learning in elementary schools has not been implemented effectively. Some schools still encounter obstacles, one of which is caused by the limitation and availability of digital literacy devices or media in schools. This obstacle was also experienced by the Muhammadiyah Special Program Elementary School of Baturan and the Muhammadiyah Plus Elementary School Malangjiwan. Basic digital literacy skills, such as using a common word processor like Microsoft Word, have not been fully mastered by students, whilst these skills are very important for them to master in this digital era. This community service was carried out by providing direct assistance to students to use Microsoft Word. The stages in this activity were starting from observation, pre-test, to post-test in using Microsoft Word. The hands-on mentoring method allowed students to learn to recognize and use Microsoft Word. This community service shows that there has been an increase in students’ competence in understanding Microsoft Word through the given activities, students have real experience to use word processor, and students' digital literacy improve. It is expected that in the future, students who already have the initial ability to use word processor from the results of this community service program, will improve their skills more and the school can support it by continuing this kind of activity through a digital literacy enhancement program.

Abstract

Several teachers in SMP, SMA, and SMK Muhammadiyah in Central Java have not implemented Lesson Study for Teacher Professional Development, especially in SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Cilacap, SMK Muhammadiyah Bumiayu, SMK Muhammadiyah Boja, SMK Muhammadiyah Pekalongan, and SMA Muhammadiyah Wonosobo. The implementation has two objectives, such as to analyze and assess teacher professional development via lesson study in six Muhammadiyah schools. This implementation employed descriptive quantitative and lesson study methodologies to examine the process of implementing lesson study through training models, brainstorming, and group discussions and to measure the improvement of instructors’ viewpoints before and after professional development. The performance results show that teachers actively discussed and collaborated to improve the learning process, from lesson design to open class. The teacher’s perspective questionnaire in their professional development fell into the excellent category, with an average category level above three as the results increased compared to the pre-result before implementation, category level two. All in all, teachers should be more innovative and imaginative to improve their professionalism.

Abstract

The transition period of the online learning process from home creates an imbalance in school life and creates conditions of academic delay or procrastination among students. Based on previous research on 345 students at SMP Negeri 2 Jatisrono in February 2022, the results of student academic procrastination at the school were quite high. This community service activity aims to reduce the high level of student academic procrastination through time management training. The training was attended by 31 students at SMP Negeri 2 Jatisrono. The instrument used to measure the level of student academic procrastination is the academic procrastination scale. Measurements were carried out 2 times, namely before (pre test) and after (post test) training to determine the effectiveness of time management training in reducing the level of academic procrastination experienced by students. The results of data analysis using T-test showed a score of t = 40.83 with p = 0.000 (p <0.05), which means that there is a very significant decrease in academic procrastination after receiving time management training. In conclusion, time management training is very significantly effective in reducing academic procrastination in students at SMP Negeri 2 Jatisrono. Suggestions for further research is that this kind of training can be applied to other problems because it is able to reduce forms of negative behavior so that it can optimize learning outcomes and student achievement.

Abstract

Boyolali Regency had a very high potential in the production of cow milk. This area dominated as much as 65% of the dairy cow population in Central Java. However, Boyolali Regency farmers found difficulties in avoiding various diseases that attack dairy cattle, such as the anthrax outbreak which became an Extraordinary Event in 2011. Therefore, the government made an innovation as a solution to anticipate the outbreak through the Cattle Monitoring System named in Indonesian as Sistem Monitoring Sapi (which later called SIMAPI as the acronym). This study aimed to describe the innovation of increasing the empowerment of dairy farmers in providing livestock logistics to anticipate an anthrax outbreak in Boyolali Regency based on information technology This study used a qualitative descriptive method. The data collection techniques used interview method, observation, and document analysis. The data validity technique used in this research was triangulation method and interactive analysis model was used as data analysis technique. SIMAPI was an innovation that has been carried out by Boyolali Regency since 2008. This system recorded each dairy cow owned by the farmer, by placing an ear tag on the ear of the cow in the form of a label labeled with a barcode made from atomic plastic. This application could accommodate 7.000 characters of information related to the identity of cows and farmers, to the health condition of the cow. Farmers or buyers can scan the ear tag barcode with the SIMAPI application to find out the health history of the cow. In the future, SIMAPI needs to be developed, considering that there were some data which need to be synchronized with other institutions, such as the Slaughterhouse or in Indonesian called Rumah Pemotongan Hewan (RPH).SIMAPI is a solution in increasing the empowerment of cattle farmers in dealing with anthrax outbreaks in Boyolali Regency. The selling value of cattle has stabilized, and buyers have given trust to cattle farmers again.

Abstract

The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic with various variant genetic mutations and severe manifestations can pose a risk of death with a relatively high transmission rate throughout the world. Moreover, the level of public awareness of compliance with health protocols and a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS), is still low from various survey results in Indonesia, including the Palasari and Cipadung Villages (Cibiru District), Bandung City, West Java. This community service activity aims to increase public health awareness and skills, especially community organization cadres as role models for other communities, such as PKK (Family Empowerment and Welfare) groups and KB (Family Planning) Villages with the Interprofessional Education (IPE) method conducted by a team of extension workers with various health science backgrounds with a series of activities that include: counselling on various health materials such as a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS), socialization of health protocols and self-isolation, mentoring on medical mask waste management, and how to make traditional herbal drinks as an immunomodulator (immunostimulant) to prevent/minimize the transmission of Covid-19. The entire counselling material was provided comprehensively to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 from various aspects, including aspects of nutrition, environmental health, 2000, and pharmaceuticals. The results achieved are the implementation of counselling on the introduction of Covid-19 and its various variants, prevention of Covid-19 from various health aspects, socialization of the application of health protocols, self-isolation, government vaccination programs, medical waste management, and how to make traditional drinks to improve the immune system in our body. The community service activities for Posbindu partner cadres in 2 Kelurahan were successfully implemented and could improve the understanding of health, attitudes, and behaviour of all Posbindu partner cadres by looking at the increase in the results of pre-test and post-test evaluations so that Posbindu partner cadres as part of change agents can distribute health information obtained to the public.

Abstract

The farmer’s behavior in Demangan Village is not safe and healthy in carrying out agricultural activities especially on pesticide use starting from mixing, spraying, washing the equipment and dispose the pesticide bottles. Therefore, efforts are needed to form a safe farming village in three years by involving two partners, they were the Pos UKK Demang Jaya Sehat and Gapoktan Demang Jaya. In the third year, the partners have not been able to carry out the work program independently, the synergy with the government and community health center is needed. The community service team helps activities through the FGD method and assistance with partners, governments, and community health centers. At the end of the activity, an evaluation of the achievements and obstacles to be followed up. Based on the activities that have been carried out, the government and community health centers contribute to the partner’s work program such as fulfilling facilities (utilization of village halls for meetings, crooked land for planting lemongrass, and BUMDES for the operation of Pos UKK and sales citronella oil), funding (purchase of materials and completeness of RSBP), human resources (assistance, monitoring, education, and active participation), and administration (data provision). So partners can carry out work programs properly, the role of the Pos UKK as implementing basic health services and Gapoktan as organic farming actors. Synergy is needed to maintain program sustainability.
