Abstract

Creativity is important in facing a challenging future life. Therefore, current learning is focused on not only values but also soft skills such as student creativity. Few teachers provide opportunities for students to develop their creativity in the classroom. This creativity can be developed and trained through various learning strategies. Probem-based learning was chosen in this study as a means to increase students' creativity through two learning methods, experiment and demonstration.  This study seeks to determine the effect of experimental and demonstration methods with problem-based learning model on student creativity on Newton's law material.  The subjects included 72 tenth-grade science students in Surakarta, Central Java.  They were selected using the purposed random sampling technique where out of 8 tenth-grade science students in SMA Al Islam, Surakarta, 2 classes that met the research category were selected.  This experimental study collected the data using pretest and posttest for cognitive data and questionnaire using a Likert scale for student creativity data. Data were analyzed descriptively through independent sample t-test. The results showed that both methods through problem-based learning model had a significant effect on the level of student creativity. From the characteristics of the methods and the number of students in the high creativity category, experimental method is superior to be applied. It is implied that teachers can use the experimental method with problem-based learning model in Newton's law to develop student creativity soft skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui urgennya literasi sains dalam meningkatkan kompetensi sains bagi widyaiswara PAI, dan mengetahui upaya peningkatan literasi sains bagi widyaiswara PAI di era millenial. Populasi dalam peneltian ini seluruh widyaisawara Balai Diklat Aceh yang berjumlah 15 orang, dengan sampel 5 orang widyaiswara PAI. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian pustaka (library research), dengan sifat penelitian diskriptis-analitis dan menggunakan pendekatan filosofis. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi dan wawancara, selanjutnya setelah data yang dibutuhkan terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode deduktif-induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya literasi sains di kalangan widyaiswara BDK Aceh masih rendah. Beberapa upaya dalam peningkatan literasi sains bagi widyaiswara PAI di era millennial adalah melaui budaya gezhah membaca dan menulis baik di perpustakan, internet dan lainnya, meluangkan waktu khusus untuk berliterasi sains, menanamkan arti pentingya literasi sains, menggiatkannya untuk memiliki buku-buku sains yang memadai, menanamkan bahwa literasi kepada semua ilmu merupakan perintah Allah sebagaimana tersurat dalam Al-Qur’an surat Al-‘Alaq ayat 1-5.

Abstract

Electronic student worksheets or E-LKPD are teaching materials designed digitally to support the learning process based on science, technology, engineering mathematics or STEM to increase student creativity through project design, planning activity schedules or work plans. This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective STEM-based E-LKPD in increasing the creativity of junior high school students. The methodology used in this research is research and development (RD) with the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The analysis stage is to determine and define student needs through interviews with teachers and students. The design stage is done by designing a STEM-based E-LKPD that suits the needs in terms of design, language, and materials. The development stage is carried out by developing products that are validated by validators, namely material experts, media experts, and science subject teachers to determine the feasibility of the product. The implementation phase is a trial using STEM-based E-LKPD on student creativity. The evaluation stage is carried out with the final revision of the product developed in accordance with the input suggestions at the implementation stage. The results of the study can be concluded that the STEM-based E-LKPD on temperature and heat materials to increase the creativity of junior high school students shows results with valid, practical, and effective categories

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif teams individualization (TAI) terhadap keterampilan proses sains ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika siswa pada pokok bahasan listrik dinamis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen research dengan desain non-equivalent control group design”. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara Cluster Random Sampling (sampel acak kelompok). Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X-2 sebagai kelas kontrol pada SMA Negeri 2 Bandar Baru tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes keterampilan proses sains. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan uji N-Gain. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata pretest keterampilan proses sains untuk kelas eksperimen dan kontrol masih belum mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimum (KKM). Selanjutnya, setelah penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif TAI persentase nilai rata-rata posttest keterampilan proses sains meningkat untuk kelas eksperimen 70,5 dan rata-rata gain pada kelas eksperimen dikategorikan sedang, khususnya pada indikator keterampilan menerapkan konsep yang berhubungan dengan kinerja matematik. Skor pretest pada kedua kelas tidak terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif TAI. Sedangkan,  untuk skor posttest terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kelas eksperimen setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif TAI. Kemudian untuk  N-Gain diperoleh thitung ttabel (2,060 2,023) dapat dikatakan bahwa terjadi peningkatan keterampilan proses sains pada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif TAI lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional, atau dengan kata lain model pembelajaran kooperatif TAI dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika siswa.

Abstract

One of the assessments in the learning processes is assessment of skills, the drawing is one of the competancy components standard of graduation in 2013 curriculum. However, teachers rarely do this assessment during the learning process instead microscopic practicum on abstract material including biology subjects. The research aim is to assess students' spatial visual intelligence on plant cell material and plant tissues, find out understanding concepts and student responses to apply spatial visual learning. The participants were 20 students SMA NW Pancor. Data collection used was students’ worksheets, and questionnaires. The data analysis was qualitative descriptive. The findings, spatial visual intelligence was seen when the teacher asked students to draw 2D cells and plant tissues before began to the core material, but did not appropriate with its’ original design. There are differences in the acquisition of scores on plant cell and tissue material, this proves that to help students' memory in making 2D images and understanding concepts, contextual media is needed such as by showing real objects and or it can also be done practicum. Therefore, the teacher can identify early about assessing the spatial visual competence, it was done by looking at the similarity of images made to the original, from the images made can be seen the students’ concepts mastery of the material being taught.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar dan tanggapan siswa setelahpenerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi laju reaksi.Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara random dari 4 kelas XI IPA SMAN 1 Tangse. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan desainberupa one group pretest-posttest desing dengan model inkuri terbimbing. Analisis data hasil belajar menggunakan perhitungan N-gain dan uji t, sedangkan untuk angket menggunakan persentase. Hasil olahan data tes pada α (0,05)hasil belajar diperoleh thitungttabel, yaitu 13,071,71, maka terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar sebelum dan setelah penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing. Hasil olahan data tanggapan siswa terhadap model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing diketahui bahwa 37,31% siswa yang merespon sangat setuju dan 44,99% siswa yang merespon setuju, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing layak dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada materi laju reaksi.Kata kunci: model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing, hasil belajar, laju reaksi

Abstract

The science learning process at SMP N 1 Pejagoan is still teacher-centered. This causes students to be less active because the control of learning is centered on the teacher, as a result, students' learning motivation decreases. To overcome this, research was carried out through the development of study guides in the form of LKPD with a contextual approach based on flipbook. This study aims to determine the feasibility level of LKPD, determine student responses, and find out whether LKPD can increase students' motivation to learn science. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D (Four-D Model) development model, consisting of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to product feasibility tests and limited trials. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The sample in this study is class VIII A totaling 10 people. The collection technique used is a questionnaire and documentation. The results showed that: (1) LKPD with a contextual approach based on flipbook was feasible, judging from the percentage of LKPD eligibility 95.57% (very feasible), (2) student responses to LKPD were in the very good category, seen from the percentage of interest in LKPD 87.50% (very interested), and students' motivation to learn science using LKPD with a contextual approach based on flipbook was included in the high category, with a percentage of 82.81% (high motivation)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar dan sikap peserta didik pada materi kelarutan dan hasil kali kelarutan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E, serta memperoleh gambaran respon guru dan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model tersebut. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode pre-experimental design melalui one group pretest-posttest design yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Krueng Barona Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Sampel yang terpilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yaitu kelas XII IPA-3 yang dijadikan kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pretest dan posttest untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar, lembar observasi untuk mengetahui sikap peserta didik, serta angket untuk mengetahui respon guru dan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E. Hasil uji normalitas menunjukkan bahwa data N-gain berdistribusi normal. Nilai rata-rata N-gain hasil belajar peserta didik yang diperoleh sebesar 35,9% termasuk kedalam kategori sedang. Secara deskriptif sikap belajar peserta didik juga menunjukkan adanya peningkatan. Guru dan peserta didik juga memberikan tanggapan yang positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran learning cycle 5E, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model learning cycle 5E dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan sikap peserta didik.

Abstract

The excretion system are completely abstractive and complex, so it is desirable a tool that can visualize the excretion process and enable students to understand the modules well. The using of picture storybook is potential to increase the interest and activities of students. The response is a measurable reaction produced by somebody in analyzing an object that can generate an attitude. So, the purpose of this study is to investigate students’ responses to the picture storybook as a part of the teaching material which can facilitate students' thinking. This study involved the seven steps: the introduction, planning, and development of the initial product, initial field trial, revision on the main product, field trial, and revision on the operational product. The field trial was conducted to determine students’ responses to the dimension of cognitive, affective, and conative aspects through exploring three secondary schools around Pontianak, Indonesia.  Subjects in this study were students in grade 8 who had been educated with an excretion system with a total number of three students in each school for the initial field trials; while there were 12 students from each school for the main field trials. Instruments used in this study were a validation paper and a student response form. The results of the initial field trial showed the cognitive aspects (84.57%); the affective aspects (89.38%); and the conative aspects (89.46%). The implication of this research was about the possibility to use a picture storybook for increasing students' interests in science learning that we examined by the subject categories

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat pemahaman makroskopik, mikroskopik dan simbolik mahasiswa dengan tujuan memberikan pemahaman konseptual yang utuh dan menyeluruh kepada mahasiswa, sehingga mahasiswa tidak membuat interpretasi sendiri dalam memberikan gambaran mikroskopik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di kota Langsa bertempat di Laboratorium Lanjut Prodi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Samudra. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling yaitu mahasiswa semester II dengan pertimbangan kelas hanya terdiri dari satu unit dan materi titrasi asam basa hanya ada pada semester II. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal tes berbentuk pilihan berganda. Hasil penelitian didapati bahwa profil  kemampuan representasi mahasiswa pada praktikum titrasi asam basa untuk tingkat makroskopik, submikroskopik, dan simbolik  berturut-turut sebesar 92% dengan kategori sangat baik, 82% dengan kategori cukup, dan 86% dengan kategori sangat baik. Dari ketiga indikator representasi kimia, indikator submikroskopis memiliki persentase lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan indikator lainnya, hal ini disebabkan mahasiswa sulit menerangkan fenomena reaksi kimia dari suatu larutan dengan gambar molekul atau ion.
