Jurnal Pendidikan Sains Indonesia (Indonesian Journal of Science Education) offers an interdisciplinary forum for the publication of original peer-reviewed, contributed and invited research articles of the highest quality that address different topics of science education with implications for improving and enhancing science education practices and theories. The topics involves biology, chemistry, physics, as well as some applications pedagogy and teacher development. The journal provides an invigorating and informative variety of research papers that expand and deepen our theoretical understanding. Local wisdom in Indonesia always considered mystical and taboo to be discussed, while this will be a great potential when viewed from the point of view of science which is then identified and interpreted in the form of a study of scientific treasures. The scientific treasures of course will also be useful if they are integrated in education and used as learning materials. This study aims to identify the science concepts and principles based on local wisdom of Pacu Jalur to develop science learning materials for junior or senior high school. This research used qualitative research with the descriptive analysis of Miles and Huberman model. The sampling techniques of this research were purposive and snowball sampling that collected through the observation, in depth interview, documentation, and literature review. The result of this study indicated that pacu jalur as local wisdom and indigenous knowledge contains many values, including aspects of science. This study should be able to further add to the value of wealth, re-introduce to many people, and enthusiasm to be inherited and preserved such as being a part of local education

Pemanfaatan komputer sebagai media pembelajaran menjadikanpembelajaranlebih efektif dan efesien.Namun pada kenyataannya, pembelajaran kimia yang dilakukan selama ini belum mampumemanfaatkan computersebagai media pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untukmengetahuikeefektifan simulasi komputer berbasis Microsoft Excel terhadap pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan penyanggadanmengetahuitanggapan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran simulasi komputer berbasis Microsoft Excel. Metode penelitian yang digunakanadalahPre-Experimental Designdengan metode Pretest-Postest One Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Media Simulasi komputer berbasis Microsoft Excel efektif untukmeningkatkanpemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi larutan penyangga. Pemahaman konsep siswa meningkat dengan nilai N-gainsebesar 89,17pada kategori peningkatan tinggidan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat dengan nilai N-gainsebesar42,83 pada kategori peningkatan sedang.Tanggapan siswa terhadap media pembelajaran simulasi komputer berbasis Microsoft Excel pada materi larutan penyangga adalah 76,60% pada kategori sangat setuju.Kata kunci: media pembelajaran, larutanpenyangga, pemahaman, berpikirkritis

Education has a very important role in educating the life of the nation. Education should not only give birth to someone who is an expert in a particular field, but also includes how someone is able to bring themselves in a community, nation and state environment in accordance with applicable norms and rules. Therefore, the character of responsibility and attitude towards subjects is very important for every individual. However, education that is happening at this time still does not provide space for students to behave honestly because the learning process tends to teach moral education and character limited to the knowledge written in the text. Therefore this study was designed to see how the relationship between attitude and student responsibility towards science subjects especially junior high students. This study is a mix of correlational type associative method research. The procedure of this study began by following the procedure in stages. In the preparation stage, it is done by formulating the problem and its variables. Then a literature review is conducted, looking for supporting theories and deepening the discussion of the problem under study in order to obtain an overview of the research to be carried out as well as the instruments needed. At the stage of questionnaire data questionnaire data collection was given to 136 students in Adhyaksa 1 Junior High School, Jambi City. From the data, data analysis is then carried out, namely data coding, proper data collection and analysis of the data. The data analysis technique uses correlational tests to find out whether there is a relationship between attitude and responsibility. The results of this study indicate a relationship between attitude and responsibility with a Pearson Correlation value of 0.000 0.05 so that it can be concluded that there is a relationship between attitude and responsibility in Adhyaksa 1 Junior High School, Jambi City

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan LKS berbasis PjBL untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest and posttest. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan dengan metode research and development (R D) dan model pengembangan analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate (ADDIE). Sampel yang terdiri dari 24 orang siswa kelas IX IPA1 dipilih secara purposive sampling.Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar penilaian ahli, angket siswa, dan tes. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis PjBL telah memenuhi kriteria baik. Penilaian kelayakan LKS berbasis PjBL oleh para ahli mendapatkan skor rata-rata 4,80 dengan kategori baik, hasil tes belajar siswa memperlihatkan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 55,7 dengan kategori sedang, dan tanggapan siswa sebesar 88,96% dengan kategori baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa LKS berbasis PjBL yang telah dikembangkan sudah layak untuk diterapkan pada siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA).

Changing times in the 4.0 era requires humans to utilize technology in all activities to make it more accessible. One way that can be done in the world of education is to increase students' technological literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine students' technological literacy abilities in science learning class VII A and VII B of SMPN 1 Depok, especially on global warming material. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. The population in this study were students in class VII A and VIII B of SMPN 01 Depok Yogyakarta for the 2022-2023 academic year consisting of 30 and 28 students using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques consist of interviews, observation and questionnaires. The instruments consist of interview sheets, observations and technological literacy questionnaires that have been validated by expert lecturers. The results obtained from the questionnaire get 3.00 in the high category. However, the results of observational research show that the level of students' technological literacy in science learning still needs to be improved, especially on indicators of knowing the advantages of various technologies and indicators of using multimedia features in learning. The level of ability that is less than optimal in several indicators is due to technological literacy that has not been integrated with the learning and assignment of science subjects. This research is important because it can be used as input for teachers to carry out learning by supporting students' technological literacy

Genetic has a broad and complicated topic and abstract material considered difficult by students. The inability to connect and construct between genetic concepts properly causes misconceptions. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to analyze students' misconceptions on the concept of genetics using a four-tier diagnostic test. 91 students from the Faculty of Education, Department of Biology, University of Riau were used as samples. The method was descriptive quantitative with a survey research model. The four-tier diagnostic test instrument consists of four levels: the first stage uses multiple-choice questions with four distractors questions and one key answer; the second level is the level of student confidence to choose the answers; the third level is the students' reasons for answering the questions; the fourth level is the level of student confidence to choose reasons. The number of questions tested was 20 questions with six sub-concepts. Confidence Discrimination Quotient (CDQ) and four-tier diagnostic test were used to analyze data on misconceptions and interpretation of student answer patterns. Students experienced misconceptions on 19 answer questions, 13 reason questions, and 16 answer and reason questions. The results of the four-tier diagnostic test described that the category of misconceptions was 65.21%, not understanding the concept was 24.53% and understanding the concept was 10.34%. From the six sub-concepts tested, the highest score of misconception was found in genetic material (75.1%) and the lowest was found in the scope of genetics (44.4%). Based on the results of observations of learning activities carried out on students in junior high school, it is known that students' science process skills are still relatively low. In addition, students' understanding of concepts on the topic of environmental pollution is still low. The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of predict-observe-explain (POE) based problem model on students’s conceptual mastery and science process skills in learning environmental pollution. The method that was used in this research was pre-experiment and the design was one-group pretest-posttest. Sample of the research were took from one class, namely class VII in a junior high school in Kasongan, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. The instruments used for the research were: (1) achievement test and (2) the science process skills observation sheet. The result showed that there was an improvement in students’ conceptual mastery in learning environmental pollution, indicated by average normalized gain of 0,68. Science process skills of students in environmental pollution topic through POE based problem model gained an average of good category. Therefore, the indicator of science process skills with highest score was the prediction and collecting data aspect, while the lowest score was communicating aspect. From this research can be conclude that applyng the POE based problem model can improve students’ learning outcomes and also give positive effect on students’ science process skills,especially on the topic of environmental pollution

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki penerapan model PBL (PBL) dengan untuk mendapatkan gambaran penerapannya dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep pada siswa SMA. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan desain control group pretest and posttest design yang dilaksanakan di kelas X pada salah satu SMA di Kabupaten Bireuen pada tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan metode purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen berupa pilihan ganda dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa untuk melihat keterlaksanaan model PBL. Pengolahan data dilaksanakan dengan statistik uji-t untuk uji beda rata-rata. Hasil penelitian di peroleh rata-rata N-gain penguasaan konsep 0,47 dengan kategori sedang untuk kelas eksperimen dan 0,26 dengan kategori rendah untuk kelas kontrol. N-gain tertinggi kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,47 pada indikator menganalisis sedangkan N-gain terendah sebesar 0,38 pada indikator memahami. Keterlaksanaan langkah-langkah pembelajaran 100% tingkat keterlaksanaan mendapat skor rata-rata 2,8 untuk aktifitas guru dan 2,65 untuk aktifitas siswa. Dengan demikian keterlaksanaan model PBL 100% dengan tingkat keterlaksanaan tergolong dalam kategori baik.

Since the corona virus disease (Covid-19) was found in patients in Wuhan, China and this virus has shown rapid transmission and has become a worldwide epidemic. As a result, online learning is applied to all universities in Indonesia by using various applications. This work is aimed for analyzing the implementation of online learning during the Covid -19 pandemic and is directed for investigating the form, implementation and expectations of students in online learning. This research was involved 231 samples consisting of all chemistry education student at Universities in Riau. The data directly collected through e-questionnaire using google form. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed quantitatively and the interview data in the form of short questions were analyzed qualitatively. All the obtained data were carfully described in descriptive form. Basid oh the analysis, it was found that the type of online learning was dominated by using google classroom and zoom meeting, while the type of online learning was popularly used by student in the form of google classroom. Methods and obstacles in online learning were found using discussion approaches and internet networks, respectively. Meanwhile, the analysis of implementation and expectations in online learning were found the student responses with both in the agreed category with a value of more than 50%. Based on the data findings, the students of chemistry education have applied online learning, even though there are still many obstacles faced in online learning

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media belajar video pada materi pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan untuk siswa kelas VII SMP Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development) dengan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari 5 langkah, yaitu: analysis, design, development, implementation, dan evaluation. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar angket validasi kelayakan media. Hasil rata-rata angket validasi yang diperoleh dari 4 validator sebesar 92,67% (sangat layak). Hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa media belajar video pada materi pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan yang telah dikembangkan layak diuji coba lebih lanjut untuk melihat efektivitas dalam pembelajaran.Kata kunci: Video, Pencemaran Lingkungan, ADDIE.
