Abstract

The high-order thinking ability of students is currently a problem that is so difficult to improve because it must be extra developed in teaching and learning activities. This can happen because students do not often improve their higher order thinking in everyday life and in the learning process. Most students tend to have difficulty solving problems when the lecturer gives problems with a higher level of difficulty than usual. The cause of this problem needs to be investigated. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and higher-order thinking skills of students of the Department of Physics Education, FKIP USK. The approach used is a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational type of research. The sample of this study was the 2019 USK FKIP Physics Education students which consisted of 71 students. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires and tests. Questionnaire and test data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and Product Moment correlation analysis. The results showed that self-efficacy had a relationship with higher-order thinking skills (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 0.05). It is recommended that future studies use more samples so that the results of the analysis obtained will be more accurate

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berfikir kritis siswa pada pelajaran fisika konsep kemagnetan  dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran guided discovery dan pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dan control group pretest-postest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX. Tehnik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cara  random sampling. Pengelompokan sampel terdiri dari dua kelas yaitu siswa kelas IX-7 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas IX-5 sebagai kelas eksperimen pada sekolah SMP Negeri 2 Indrajaya Kabupaten Pidie. Tehnik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis berupa soal pilihan ganda sebanyak 33 soal pretes dan posttes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya perbedaan peningkatan rata-rata pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berfikir kritis siswa pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajarn guided discovery mengalami peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan berfikir kritis yang lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Pandemic Covid-19 requires people to carry out their activities from home, or in other words, online. Likewise, all educational activities are carried out online to avoid and break the pandemic virus's transmission chain. This study examines the effect of students’ perceptions and attitudes on student awareness of doing online assignments due to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic affecting learning in education. Learning that initially took place traditionally (face to face) shifted to virtual learning (online learning). The research method uses mixed methods with a sequential explanatory design with a total sample of 312 students of physics education at the University of Jambi. The instruments in this study used questionnaires and interviews. The data will be analyzed using SPSS 21. The research results show that students' perceptions, attitudes, and awareness in carrying out their assignments online are in a good category. This fact shows a significant effect of perceptions and attitudes on students' awareness of doing assignments online. It is evidenced by the effect of 70.5% of students 'perceptions and attitudes on students' awareness of doing assignments online. The remaining 29.5% is influenced by other variables not found in this study.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik melalui implementasi LKPD POE. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian pre eksperimental melalui one group pretest posttest design. Implementasi dilakukan di SMAN 3 Unggul Sigli pada peserta didik kelas X MIA 2 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berupa 10 soal esai dengan reliabilitas 0,877. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh rata-rata nilai pretest 28 dan posttest 79, dengan ­N-Gain 0,74 yang menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa LKPD POE efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik SMA.Kata kunci: LKPD, POE, kemampuan berpikir kritis AbstractThis study aims to improve the critical thinking skills of learners through the implementation of worksheet. This research uses quantitative approach with pre experimental research method through one group pretest posttest design. Implementation is done in SMAN 3 Unggul Sigli in class X MIA 2 students selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by using critical thinking skills in the form of 10 essay questions with reliability of 0.877. Based on the data analysis results obtained average pretest value of 28 and posttest 79, with N-Gain 0.74 which indicates an increase in the ability of critical thinking. Based on these results, it can be concluded that LKPD POE effective in improving the critical thinking skills of high school students.Keyword: students’ worksheet, POE, critical thinking skills

Abstract

Scientific reasoning ability is one of the essential abilities in education for the 21st century. In addition, several studies reveal that scientific reasoning can affect academic achievement, which can also be seen from the gender aspect. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of academic achievement on scientific reasoning abilities, the effect of gender on scientific reasoning abilities, and the relationship between academic achievement and gender differences on the scientific reasoning abilities of physics students. The participants in this study were all final-year students in the Physics Education Study Program at the State Islamic University of Raden Intan Lampung for the 2019/2020 academic year. This study's sample size was 87, with 13 males and 74 females. Purposive sampling was used in this study. The sample was selected from students nearing the end of their lecture program. The research instrument used was the Lawson classroom test for scientific reasoning, consisting of 12 multiple-reason questions with a reliability level of ,604. The study's Kruskal-Wallis test showed no significant effect between academic achievement and gender on scientific reasoning abilities. Also, the correlation test results using the spearman test showed no positive relationship between academic achievement and gender differences on the scientific reasoning ability of physics students

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektifitas pendekatan mikroskopik dalam LKPD terhadap pembelajaran serta pemahaman konsep dan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian dilakukan di MAN Tungkop Kabupaten Aceh Besar dengan sampel penelitian terdiri atas dua kelas XI IPA dan melibatkan dua validator sebagai penilai kualitas LKPD.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R D model 4-D (pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran/implementasi) dengan desain eksperimen only post-test design.Tahap pengembangan dilakukan terdiri atas uji coba LKPD dan uji validasi.Tahap implementasi dilakukan setelah LKPD dinilai valid sehingga dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran.Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan uji validasi, post tes, observasi dan wawancara. Pengolahan data dilakukan dengan statistik non parametrik uji beda rata-rata kelompok bebas (uji Mann Whitney) menggunakan software SPSS 17.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pada tahap pengembangan diperoleh bahwa LKPD yang dikembangkan telah validdengan  persentase rata-rata 55%.Sedangkan pada tahap uji coba LKPD diperoleh nilai tes rata-rata peserta didik sebesar 63,94, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa LKPD ini layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Pada tahap implementasi, hasil uji Mann Whitneydiperoleh nilai signifikan 0,00 baik untuk pemahaman konsep maupun kemampuan berpikir kritis. Nilai signifikan yang diperoleh kurang dari α (0,05) maka H0 ditolak yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan baik terhadap pemahaman konsep maupun kemampuan berpikir kritis antara kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan pendekatan mikroskopik dalam LKPD yang telah dikembangkan efektif terhadap pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik.

Abstract

21st century learning focuses on problem-solving skills. A higher level of education requires an understanding of a more systematic concept to elaborate problems. Problem-solving skill is one of the fundamental cognitive processes. It involves higher order thinking to discover solutions or ideas. This research aims to analyze the relationship between concept mastery and problem-solving skill of pre-service biology teacher in human physiology courses. This is descriptive correlational research conducted in Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin State Islamic University Jambi. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling technique. Respondents in this study were 33 students in semester VI. The instrument used in the study was an essay test of concept mastery integrated with problem-solving. The results showed that the average scores of the students' concept mastery and problem-solving were 56.8 and 58.0, respectively. Both included in the poor category. It also showed that there was a relationship between students' concept mastery and problem-solving skill. The correlation value was 0.76, with a significance value of p0.05; therefore, it included in the strong category.

Abstract

Di dunia pendidikan, guru profesional menjadi faktor utama dalam meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Begitu penting peran guru dalam proses pendidikan, maka seorang guru dituntut untuk selalu meningkatkan kemampuannya. Namun kenyataan masih banyak ditemukan guru yang kurang berkompeten khususnya pada kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru dalam peningkatan hasil belajar fisika peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, angket, tes, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi pedagogik guru tergolong baik, terlihat dari sikap guru dalam menghadapi peserta didik, pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berpedoman pada RPP, pengelolaan kelas dan melakukan evaluasi setiap habis pokok pembahasan. Pada kompetensi profesional, guru terlihat menguasai substansi keilmuan yang terkait dengan bidang studi dan memahami materi ajar. Namun ada beberapa materi yang masih perlu dipelajari seperti teori kinetik gas, hukum termodinamika dan inti atom. Selain itu, upaya guru dalam peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik juga sudah maksimal. Meski masih memiliki kekurangan, namun hal tersebut tidak menjadi alasan bagi guru dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar, karena hasil belajar tidak sepenuhnya dipengaruhi oleh kompetensi guru. Ada faktor lain yang mempengaruhi proses pembelajaran seperti minat, tingkat kecerdasan, bakat, motivasi, dan lingkungan peserta didik.

Abstract

Innovative and creative learning media are needed to overcome online practicum during the pandemic to improve students' critical thinking skills, namely the development of STEM-Based Virtual-lab media. The purpose of this research is to produce a STEM-based Virtual-Lab media to improve students' critical thinking skills that are valid, practical and effective. The development model used is 4-D development which consists of define, design, develop and disseminate. However, in this study only the development stage was carried out. The research instrument was a validity questionnaire that was assessed by media, material and language experts, a product usability practicality questionnaire by students and a critical thinking ability test for 30 PGSD students at Bung Hatta University. Sampling was carried out non-probability with purposive sampling technique. The level of understanding of students' concepts was analyzed by ngain. The results of the study stated that the virtual lab media produced for students of the Bung Hatta University Elementary School Teacher Education study program was declared valid by material, language and design experts. Based on the trial implementation of the Virtual Lab media, it is in the very practical category. Assessment of student learning outcomes shows that completeness exceeds the minimum limit for calculating ngain at 0.66 with moderate criteria. Therefore, the virtual laboratory media developed for students of the STEM-based primary school teacher education study program was declared effective. Thus, it can be concluded that STEM-based Virtual-Lab media is produced to improve students' critical thinking skills that are valid, practical and effective

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan alat penilaian otentik yang valid dan reliabel untuk mengukur pengetahuan, sikap dan juga keterampilan peserta didik dalam pembelajaran fisika.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R D), dimana penelitian ini mengembangkan suatu produk dari yang sudah ada dan menguji keefektifan produk tersebut sehingga menghasilkan produk yang dapat dipakai.Sampel yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini hanya satu kelas, yaitu kelas XIA 1 di SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh.Dalam penelitian ini ada 3 hal yang yang dilihat, yaitu aspek pengetahuan dengan memberikan soal (Pre-test dan post-test), sikap (angket sikap pre-test dan post-test) dan keterampilan (LKPD serta lembar penilaian).Hasil uji normalitas untuk soal pengetahuan menujukkan bahwa data N-gain tidak berdistribusi normal. Nilai peserta didik  yang paling tinggi adalah sub pokok bahasan viskositas fluida dengan persentase 3,10% dan yang paling rendah adalah hukum Pascal dengan persentase 2,00%. Pada aspek sikap, untuk penilaian diri sendiri peserta didik terdapat perbedaan antara Pre-test dan post-test.Yang paling terlihat adalah pada komponen objek sikap 3 dengan pernyataan terbanyak.Pada tahap observasi peserta didik sangat sedikit yang memenuhi aspek penilaian, sehingga perbedaannya sangat jauh bila dibandingkan peserta yang memenuhi aspek penilaian.Untuk aspek keterampilan peserta didik, nilai diskusi mengalami peningkatan disetiap pertemuannya dan untuk hasil praktikum juga menunjukkan peningkatan. Pada pertemuan pertama hasil seluruh kelompok praktik adalah 572 poin, untuk praktek kedua 602 poin dan untuk praktek tiga sebesar 608 poin.
