Abstract

The Samin community in Klopodhuwur, Blora, is a traditional society that upholds a noble system of values and customs harmoniously intertwined with Islamic teachings. The integration between local culture and Islamic values has created a distinctive form of religiosity characterized by simplicity, honesty, and sincerity. This study aims to explore the development of Islamic values within the life of the Samin community and the adaptation of Islamic teachings to their local wisdom. Employing a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach through library research, the study examines various books, journals, and relevant literature to understand the socio-religious dynamics of this community. The findings reveal that the internalization of Islamic values among the Samin people occurs gradually and peacefully without erasing their cultural identity. Values such as honesty, simplicity, mutual cooperation, and sincerity serve as bridges of harmony between Islamic teachings and Samin traditions, demonstrating that religion and culture can coexist synergistically in fostering morality and social harmony.

Abstract

This research explores the use of song as pedagogical media in vocabulary mastery among young learners. Recognizing the important role of vocabulary in language mastery, this research aims to address the challenges faced by young learners in mastering English vocabulary, especially in a monotonous learning environment. The research focuses on two main aspects: the use of song in vocabulary mastery and teachers' perceptions of this method. Through qualitative research methods, including observations and interviews with English teachers, this research sought to analyze how song can facilitate vocabulary retention and engagement in young learners. This research used the data analysis technique by Miles and Huberman (1984), there were three stages in data analysis: data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The research findings show that song not only make learning fun, but also serve as an effective medium to improve vocabulary mastery. The research highlights the importance of selecting age-appropriate song that match students' interests and the importance of integrating song into the core teaching process rather than using them only as ice-breakers. The research concludes with recommendations for teachers to regularly incorporate song into their lesson plans and suggests future research to further explore the impact of different music genres on language learning. Overall, this research underscores the potential of music as a dynamic tool in fostering a positive learning environment and improving vocabulary mastery among young learners.

Abstract

In many educational settings particularly in vocational schools Mandarin instruction still focuses heavily on grammar drills and vocabulary memorization, while the development of cultural understanding often receives less attention. This study aims to explore the implementation of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in Mandarin language education with a specific focus on Chinese cultural appreciation. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and project evaluations. The results show that the application of PBL significantly increased students’ engagement, creativity, and confidence in using Mandarin in real-life contexts. Moreover, students demonstrated a deeper appreciation of Chinese traditions, values, and aesthetics, which fostered their cross-cultural awareness and multicultural competence. In conclusion, Project-Based Mandarin Learning with an emphasis on cultural appreciation proves to be an effective pedagogical strategy to link language learning with cultural understanding. This approach supports the development of communicative, cognitive, and cultural skills that are relevant to global education and the 21st-century learning framework.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the concept and implementation of the Total Quality Management (TQM) model from the perspective of Islamic education. TQM, as a managerial approach emphasizing the involvement of all organizational elements, process control, continuous improvement, and stakeholder satisfaction, is believed to offer effective solutions to the challenges of improving the quality of educational institutions. However, in the context of Islamic education, TQM cannot be applied mechanically as in industrial or business sectors; instead, it needs to be adapted to align with Islamic spiritual and moral values such as amanah (professional responsibility), ihsan (pursuit of excellence and perfection in work), and akhlaq (ethics and personal integrity). This research employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, utilizing an extensive literature review of studies and scientific publications from nationally accredited journals (Sinta 1-2) published between 2021 and 2025. The reviewed sources include empirical studies on the application of TQM in Islamic schools, madrasahs, pesantrens, and Islamic higher education institutions in Indonesia, as well as contemporary quality management theories relevant to Islamic values. The analysis maps the alignment between TQM principles, such as leadership, continuous improvement, customer focus, and teamwork, and Islamic management principles, including tauhid, syura, trust, and istikamah (steadfastness). The findings reveal that the implementation of TQM in Islamic educational institutions significantly contributes to academic quality enhancement, managerial efficiency, and the strengthening of value-based organizational culture. Institutions that integrate TQM principles with Islamic values show improvements in accreditation status, student satisfaction, teacher and lecturer productivity, and public trust. Moreover, the integration of spiritual values with modern management principles has proven to be a key factor in achieving competitive excellence and global relevance while maintaining Islamic identity. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of the Islamic Total Quality Management (TQM-I) model as a holistic quality management paradigm that not only focuses on achieving performance standards and efficiency but also on reinforcing the moral, spiritual, and social dimensions of education. This model serves as a strategic foundation for developing internal quality assurance systems across Islamic educational institutions, aiming to establish excellence, competitiveness, and a strong Islamic character.

Abstract

This study aims to uncover the role of educational planning in improving education quality, emphasizing the importance of a focused and sustainable strategy at the educational unit level. This study employed a literature review method, reviewing various sources, including previous research, educational policy documents, and school performance reports. Through descriptive analysis, this study sought to understand the extent to which educational planning effectively supports educational quality improvement. The study's findings indicate that educational planning, in general, is not fully oriented toward comprehensive educational goals. However, improvements in educational quality have begun to be evident through various efforts by school principals to improve the learning process and school management. The main obstacles to educational planning include a lack of administrative staff skilled in strategic planning and limited supporting resources. This study also found that quality improvement measures have been implemented, including recruiting teachers with appropriate competencies, providing training to enhance learning quality, and periodically procuring facilities and infrastructure. In conclusion, educational planning plays a crucial role in promoting educational quality improvement, but it requires strengthening the capacity of planners and more comprehensive policy support for optimal and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

The phenomenon of bullying in the school environment is a serious problem rooted in low social empathy and students' inability to manage conflicts positively. The role of Islamic Religious Education Teachers (PAI) as central figures who teach noble moral values and compassion is crucial, especially through their example in dealing with dynamics and conflicts that occur in the classroom. This study aims to examine the extent to which the example of PAI teachers in managing classroom conflicts has a significant influence on increasing social empathy and forming anti-bullying attitudes in junior high school (SMP) students. This research is a qualitative approach with a type of case study research. The purpose of this research aims to fill the literature gap by proving that PAI teachers are key actors who use conflict management as a medium to form the character of students who empathize and reject violence. The results of the research of PAI teachers have a very important and strategic role in managing classroom conflicts to increase social empathy and foster anti-bullying attitudes.

Abstract

Education plays a fundamental role in shaping human resources that are of high quality, have strong character, and are adaptive to global challenges. However, the learning process in madrasah ibtidaiyah is still dominated by conventional teacher-centered methods, which affects students' low learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving student learning outcomes at MIN 3 Aceh Tenggara. The study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type, involving two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 25 students. Research instruments include learning outcome tests, student activity observation sheets, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using the Independent Sample t-test. The results of the study showed a significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental class with a post-test average score of 83.6 compared to the control class at 72.1 (t_calculated = 5.62 > t_table = 2.01; p < 0.05). In addition, student learning activity increased from the category of "moderately active" to "very active" by the end of the sessions. The implementation of the STAD model not only improved cognitive learning outcomes but also developed social skills such as cooperation, responsibility, and communication. These findings confirm that the STAD model is relevant to the principles of the Independent Curriculum and can be considered an effective alternative for creating active, collaborative, and meaningful learning in elementary school madrasahs.

Abstract

The hadith on pursuing the path of knowledge serves as a profound theological and philosophical foundation for the development of Islamic education and the formation of civilization. This study aims to analyze the meaning and relevance of this hadith within the context of prophetic education an educational model that integrates faith, knowledge, and action. The research employs a qualitative library study approach, examining classical and contemporary sources related to Islamic education and prophetic values. The findings reveal that the Hadith positions the pursuit of knowledge as a form of worship with spiritual and social dimensions, functioning as a transformative process toward achieving the ideal human (insan kamil). Prophetic values such as sincerity, perseverance, humility, and moral responsibility serve as the ethical basis for a civilized Islamic education system. Therefore, the hadith on pursuing the path of knowledge is relevant as a paradigm for modern Islamic education that goes beyond knowledge transmission to emphasize character formation and communal well-being. The study recommends further exploration of how prophetic values can be applied in contemporary Islamic educational curricula.
