Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of character education in building digital ethics awareness among students of Medan Aviation Polytechnic as an effort to address the issue of hate speech on social media. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this research delves into the factors influencing students' digital behavior, including legal literacy, self-control, and moral education. The results indicate that 95% of students have witnessed hate speech on social media, and 40% of them admit to having been involved in such practices. However, only 25% of students have a deep understanding of digital legal regulations. Character education proves to be effective in enhancing emotional intelligence, empathy, and critical thinking skills among students, thus contributing to the reduction of hate speech intensity. This study recommends the integration of digital ethics into the curriculum, the development of continuous training programs, and multidimensional collaboration between educational institutions, families, and communities to create an inclusive and responsible digital culture.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of communication ethics in preventing cyberbullying in digital private spaces, especially WhatsApp groups. The approaches used include privacy, trust, tolerance, digital compliance, and social impacts on interaction harmony. The phenomenon of cyberbullying, which often occurs in the form of teasing, sarcasm, and the spread of personal information, can trigger serious psychological impacts such as anxiety, stress, and social isolation. This research method is qualitative descriptive with limited experiments. Data were obtained through surveys, observations, and in-depth interviews with 109 respondents at the Medan Aviation Polytechnic, 62 of whom were on campus, and 47 of whom were undergoing on-the-job training. Interventions in the form of digital literacy education, strengthening privacy policies, tolerance campaigns, and active moderation were carried out to reduce the potential for conflict and improve communication ethics. The results showed a decrease in cyberbullying by 20%, a decrease in emotional conflict by 40%, and an increase in awareness of communication ethics by 35%. In addition, trust between members increased significantly, creating a safer, more conducive, and more harmonious communication space.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze communication dynamics within student WhatsApp groups and the influence of digital ethics on awareness, security, openness, orderliness, and responsibility. A qualitative approach was employed through in-depth interviews and participatory observation involving 20 students. The ethics findings indicate that appropriate implementation of digital enhances communication effectiveness, strengthens trust, and fosters a conducive learning environment. This aligns with Chen (2019), who emphasizes the importance of rules in managing online group dynamics and fostering accountability. Smith and Duggan (2016) also highlighted the role of messaging platforms like WhatsApp in improving peer collaboration.

Abstract

The need for efficient and environmentally friendly electric two-wheeled vehicles is increasing along with awareness of the impact of pollution. One of the main challenges in the development of electric vehicles is controlling the speed of DC motors precisely and efficiently. This study aims to design and implement a DC motor speed control system on a two-wheeled vehicle using the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) method. PWM was chosen because of its ability to regulate motor power efficiently through variations in the width of the digital signal pulse, thereby reducing energy waste and excess heat. The research methods include designing a microcontroller-based PWM circuit, simulating system performance using MATLAB/Simulink software, and direct testing on DC motors with input voltage variations of 3–12 volts. The test results show that the system is able to produce a linear speed response, with an increase in motor rotation from 0 rpm at 3 volts to 1500 rpm at 12 volts. This system is also proven to be energy efficient with power efficiency reaching 85% and reducing motor heat by 20%. Thus, the implementation of PWM as a DC motor speed controller on a two-wheeled electric vehicle not only improves performance and responsiveness, but also contributes to environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of Work Motivation, Work Ethos, and Organizational Commitment on Employee Performance at PT. Queen Diamond Cargo. The research method used is a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification analysis, which includes multiple linear regression analysis, multiple correlation analysis, coefficient of determination, as well as the t test for partial testing and the F test for simultaneous testing. The sample used consisted of 50 employees taken using a saturated sampling technique. The research results show that: 1) Work Motivation has no significant effect on Employee Performance, with the calculated t value (1.071) being smaller than the t table (1.675) and a significance value of 0.290 (> 0.05). 2) Work Ethos has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, with the calculated t value (3.933) greater than the t table (1.675) and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). 3) Organizational Commitment also has a positive and significant effect on Employee Performance, with the calculated t value (4.960) greater than the t table (1.675) and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). 4) Simultaneously, Work Motivation, Work Ethos, and Organizational Commitment have a significant effect on Employee Performance, with the calculated F value (93.650) greater than the F table (2.366) and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). These findings indicate that Work Ethos and Organizational Commitment play an important role in improving employee performance, while work motivation needs to be increased with a more appropriate approach in order to have a significant impact on performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reliability of the electricity distribution system using the SAIDI (System Average Interruption Duration Index) and SAIFI (System Average Interruption Frequency Index) in KR04 Sungai Mas. The results of the analysis show that frequent disruptions affect the reliability of the system, which has a direct impact on the level of customer satisfaction with electricity distribution services. The SAIDI value is 0.15235 hours/customer and SAIFI of 0.00017 times/customer in 2024 indicates that the system is not yet fully reliable. Reliability improvements are made through maintenance of network components, installation of lightning rods, and optimization of tree pruning. This study emphasizes the importance of reducing the frequency and duration of disruptions to improve system reliability and customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Transnational crime, particularly human smuggling and trafficking, pose a serious threat to national and international stability. The increase in these crime cases in Indonesia shows the importance of the role of related agencies, such as Immigration. This study aims to analyze the role of the Class I Immigration Office of TPI Polonia in the prevention and control of transnational crimes. Using a sociological juridical approach, identifying and conceptualizing the law with real life, this study explores the challenges, successes, and steps that have been taken by the Immigration Office in dealing with this issue. The results of the study show that supervision of the issuance of travel documents, cooperation with related institutions, and socialization to the public are strategic steps in dealing with transnational crimes. However, obstacles such as data falsification and dishonesty of passport applicants remain challenges. To overcome this, the TPI Polonia Class I Immigration Office implements biometric technology, collaborates with the Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), and conducts comprehensive interviews to ensure the authenticity of the applicant's data.
